Do you wear SPF under your makeup?

I'm going on holiday soon, do I wear suncream under my makeup or over it?
Am I going to look cakey?
I know, I know, I should just leave off the foundation but my skin isn't great

Thank you so much for all your comments, I'm embarrassed to say that I didn't wear any sun cream on my face before (I did just rely on makeup as a sunblock)
But now I'm a changed woman , every day I'm slapping it on

redj5 I put the Hawaiian Tropic one on straight after cleansing and then put my powder foundation on over the top. No idea if this is right!
