That yellow thing Confused

MaQueen · 23/05/2017 22:18

"I'm going to get one in every colour."

Remus let's get you to see your doctor, shall we...?

MaQueen · 23/05/2017 22:20

Just further proof that certain M&S designers are dropping some serious amounts of crystal meth...

DoorKnee · 23/05/2017 22:23

I can't figure out who these clothes are meant to be for? I can't pinpoint a demographic that would find them wearable in any setting.

WillyWonkasChocolate · 23/05/2017 22:35

'Superior fabric quality' Hmm
WTF is she looking at 'cos it's not the dress that we've been seeing....

Freshprincess · 23/05/2017 22:44

Scrolling though the link above I thought 'ah they're not too bad' till I got to the yellow dress/tunic/trousers thing. Just why? Who'd wear that. For what occasion?

We don't get the wacky stuff in our local M&S. I'm going to have to go to the big Marksies to get a good look.

Chestervase1 · 23/05/2017 23:56

There is an absolute horror at the moment a shirt waister in white with a very loud tropical print in yellow, orange and green anybody else seen it?

MrsDustyBusty · 24/05/2017 07:30

Yes, but my favourite is an eye watering maxi dress. It's got it all, cold shoulder, frills, fabric that contravene several fire regulations in colours to make your hair stand on end.

juneau · 24/05/2017 07:34

That pink thing is hideous! I'd rather go out in my nightie. Mid-calf length too - bleugh!

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 24/05/2017 07:38

And there was just on the news about a massive drop in profits in M&S.

Well, if they insist on manufacturing unbearable clothes, then this is what happens.

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 24/05/2017 07:39

Unwearable but unbearable might not be far off the mark too.

The pink dress had somehow escaped my attention until now. Holy fuck, that needs to be killed with fire!!!

ZaZathecat · 24/05/2017 08:43

I thought I'd said all I could about the pink dress... Until I walked passed it again the other day and glanced down at the hem. Wow, it looks like I did it with my lack of know-how and my gran's old manual Singer. Wavy, puckered, visible stitching.

P1nkP0ppy · 24/05/2017 09:46

I can just imagine their next sale to be rack after rack of unwearable crap..........
When the heck will they start listening to what their customers want? They're way off from what they used to be, affordable and good quality.

whatsthefuckingwrongwithyou · 24/05/2017 10:54

Remus your capsule wardrobe has landed.

But seriously, is anywhere selling nice summer dresses that you can wear to work (assuming you are not a childrens entertainer, clown or drag queen)? Monsoon are bereft of suitable things this year and I've only run out of m&s crying 'My eyes! My eyes!'.

I need short sleeves, not no sleeves. I've got fat arms ffs!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 24/05/2017 19:01

Ooh. Grabs credit card.

And runs to John Lewis instead.

Oh M&S. I do try with you; I really do. But you need help. It really shouldn't be so difficult for you to get it right.

GertyTheGert · 24/05/2017 19:29

DustyBusty, I did such a big guffawing snorty laugh at your post, I actually fwightened myself!!! Do you think that the soon to be ex womens togs buyer did all this purchasing for a f*cking big laugh at the eeejits on the M&S board?!? I think I put on another thread a long time ago, my friend worked at M&S head office when it was in Baker St and told me how the crawlers crawl to all the folk when they want opinions ooooh that is lovely sir (ie give me a pay rise sir). And they used to do "wearer trials" where the biggest crawlers got free M&S clothes to wear to work / wash / wear / wash / wear but they didnt bother, just wore them, said how FAB these clothes are and got promoted..... derrr eee derrrrr

GertyTheGert · 24/05/2017 19:35

-2- Smeaton I just guffawed at your post too - ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!!!!!
You know the ruffles etc - do you think the buyer has a thing about Puff the Magic Dragon - reminds me of him - plus the other meaning too of course!!!!!!!!!!

OOAOML · 25/05/2017 15:40

I grew up in the 70s, and I'm shocked at the utter hideousness that M&S are unleashing. Who is going to wear this stuff??

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 27/05/2017 14:53

Finally saw the oink dress in real life today.

Holy fuck.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 27/05/2017 14:53

Ha - I meant pink, but oink seems pretty appropriate.
