Which shoes?

I'm going to a wedding in a few weeks. the dress is skater style, above knee. Navy with a floral print.

My feet are big and i really struggle with finding comfortable shoes. My go to for occasions are my black wedges, which i can last all day in. Would these work with the style dress? If the dress is above the knee, would i get away with wearing flats/flatter shoes?

Any opinions welcomed :)

How about something like these

Thank you, I came across these last night, but i've got a very wide foot around the toe area so i always find this style awkward/uncomfortable. Seriously, my feet are a nightmare! I normally sort my shoes and then buy a dress.

I've found some peep toe nude wedges that could possibly work?

Ankle straps make your legs shorter and fatter. Unless you have slim legs up to your armpits. Ankle strap shoes should be banned Smile

PipnJo · 21/05/2017 08:54

Haha, i have longish legs but been blessed with no slim ankles/calves.

I'm not sure I'd go for black. Nude might be good, or what about something a little bit flatter like this from Debenhams?

Lovely dress by the way!

Rioja123 · 21/05/2017 09:03

Don't wear black shoes they are too dark with the navy. Pick out a colour in the dress or wear nude.

PipnJo · 21/05/2017 09:24

Thanks Sadsongs!

Yeah, that's what i thought initially Rioja, but because they chucked a pair of black shoes in the photo of it, it kind of threw me a bit!

Do you think flats would make it look less'occasion/ weddingy?

ScarlettDarling · 21/05/2017 09:29

I think flats will make it look much more casual. It's a lovely dress though. I think sadsongs has got the right idea, go for a bright pink or violet pair of shoes. Lots of places do wide fitting shoes. I'll have a look and post again if I find anything.

hollyisalovelyname · 21/05/2017 09:29

Don't wear flats.
Or ankle strapSmile
The pink shoes were lovely

hollyisalovelyname · 21/05/2017 09:31

The peep toe wedges would be awful with such a pretty dress.

MrsPMT · 21/05/2017 09:31

Gorgeous dress, I think some pink wedges would be great, wedges seem to have a more summery fun look to them than other heels IMO, and easier to wear too.

TheMasterNotMargarita · 21/05/2017 09:32

The nude ones look a bit too casual.
Also think sadsongs choice is great.

PipnJo · 21/05/2017 09:34

Thanks everyone, will keep having a look around :)

How about these...

Blockier heel should be more comfortable .

I think a neutral wedge could look nice.

There are loads of wide fitting heels at New look. I think that something along the lines of these sandals would work well.

Gorgeous dress.
Where from please?
Def no black shoes

PipnJo · 21/05/2017 09:48

I'm going to sound so fussy, but i swear it's my feets fault!

Those slingbacks are a possibility TheMaster

My legs unfortunately wouldn't carry off ankle straps. Also it's the fore part of my foot which is my main issue and i always feel like my feet/toes are just shouting 'hello' if i wear strappy shoes (which i never do, or flip fops even).... Can i just add i'm sure my feet aren't that terrible, it's just my own insecurity. :)

Dress is from a site called missfiga. Not the most amazing quality dresses...as you'd probably guess from the prices but the sizings are spot on and it's a very comfortable dress!

Although a bit higher than what i'd normally go for!
