Two jobs should keep the weight down BD.

I have just made kedgeree .
DS said it was really good

Cremolafoam · 06/06/2017 18:39

I haven't tried everything diet wise , as with the type 1 diabetes, it's difficult to veer off the hi fibre, moderate carbs regime of old. However there is a strong movement in support of lo-carb diets, high in protein etc. I am so confused by all this , as surely to Moses you need some whole grains and fruit in your diet, and I am already only taking in 120g of carb as it is. .
So I need to up my calorie burning surely, through exercise, and eat quality carb, whatever the crap that is, ( just berries and chia ?? Hmm) and then what happens if I go low and need sugar?
Anyway , I am signed up to do a course in this and will ask these questions until I understand.
In the mean time, because hypnosis worked so well for The Dreaded Fags, I am considering this for eating.

DD hasn't stopped eating rubbish since she arrived. Everything I taught her has gone down the Swanee.

hattymattie · 06/06/2017 19:20

I don't think that any of you ladies look remotely like you need diets - you all look fab.

Cremolafoam · 06/06/2017 19:21

Rosenspants · 07/06/2017 08:28

Ach Hatty for me the scales tell a different story...

I am not liking that this thread was on the second page.... Hmm Hmm Hmm

MsMartini · 07/06/2017 09:13

Hatty and Rose Grin. My scales tell a different story too - but I have lost some weight, tho it seems to have stalled now, and enjoying feeling a bit fitter so will not upbeat myself but KBO.

Right, onwards. Have another lack of paid work and mountain of other (mostly dull) stuff to sort.

Apparently UKIP are coming to life in Dagenham, after Saturday Sad. Seems especially awful now we know such a wide range of nationalities were among those affected, including the people who protected others with their bare hands and random implements.

MrsKlugscheisser · 07/06/2017 09:34

Hola, peeps.

In S & B news, I have bought a Roc firming moisturiser for a fiver from Amazon. No idea if it will form, but it smells lovely and hasn't brought me out in a rash.

In non S& B news, I had DFIL and his mates staying last night and it was like being in a UKIP convention.

IDismyname · 07/06/2017 12:19

Ive been having a chuckle at another thread on Pants.

We've the thong wearers vs the non thong wearers.

Beats the politics sh*t thats elsewhere...

Working up to doing another mammoth weeding session in my veg patch.

NUFC69 · 07/06/2017 13:02

Fluffy, I have just come in from weeding the borders; yesterday's rain has definitely helped in that direction. DH is putting up the canes for his runner beans.

Since I joined this thread over three years ago I reckon I have put on a stone a year. I have two modes of living: over eat or starve. Just started again and am really trying hard. I am up to 30 minutes at level 8 on the exercise bike, but my walking is still not good. And my scar, after the exercise, goes very red and more bruises come up. I am assuming that I am ok to carry on as I did mention to the consultant what I was doing.

MsMartini · 07/06/2017 14:19

The pants thread is great Smile.

NU, that sounds really good on the exercise bike front!

MrsKlugscheisser · 07/06/2017 17:13

Can someone link to the pants thread please?

MsMartini · 07/06/2017 18:20

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/am_i_being_unreasonable/2947631-i-bought-new-knickers-yesterday?dod=1

Not caught up on it, but earlier they were really getting into the....detail.

MrsKlugscheisser · 07/06/2017 22:39

Oooh, fascinating. I used to have some crotchless pants in my yoof. Handy for a quickie.

msmargarita · 08/06/2017 06:32

But what then is the point of the pants, MrsK?

awkward segue ...

we had lovely anniversary - esp given erratic nature of weather and the fact that we both weren't feeling well. Lovely, peaceful walks to Whistable and Faversham. Wonderful meal at the Sportsman then strolling back to b&b listening to the sea with lights of Whistable twinkling in distance. We chose the tasting menu and I was so full by dessert that I asked to take it home where the four of us enjoyed it last night. Like a mini holiday.

Voting first thing just in case.

Blackduck · 08/06/2017 11:05

Oh detail on The Sportsman please!!!

Cremolafoam · 08/06/2017 11:50

Mrs K, you never cease to surprise me.Grin filth, pure filth.

Wee anniversary trip just sounds lovely MsM. Especially the seaside walk.

I have two, ( II , deux, 2) summer clothes items in view and would appreciate opinions. Herbs you will probably have seen the embroidered tunic in Sainsbury's already. And then there is a navy linen midi skirt with my name on it.Grin

Rosenspants · 08/06/2017 15:06

I like both. Are you going to get the skirt in the pink? The tunic is lovely....I always want to buy stuff like that but need some shaping at the waist...

I am very tempted by some of the pieces in Wrap online...it's just so pricey

motherinferior · 08/06/2017 16:24

I found a fabulous red broderie top in Sainsbos at the weekend. I would be wearing it today to signal Voting Intentions but it's too cold.

bigTillyMint · 08/06/2017 16:50

Wait for the sales, Rose - they can't be far off?

Someone once gave me a pair of red crotchless knickers - they felt weird. Going commando is much better! But only with a skirt/dress - I remember an ex-colleague telling me and my friend how she goes commando every day (yes even at work) and I thought that she probably didn't wash her leggings every day

MsMartini · 08/06/2017 17:26

Going commando in a dress would make me anxious about everything I, any other human, the entire planet, had to be anxious about I think. Ever. Grin.
Nice clothes all.
I think Wrap is really pricey and then when I look in the sale it is still pricey but only odd colours.

Stropperella · 08/06/2017 17:45

I have never got over the time I was standing at a pedestrian crossing in High Wycombe in my school uniform and a big gust of wind blew my skirt right up over my head. There was a lot of traffic. There must have been a lot of traumatised drivers. Due to me being very fat and my mother having instituted a cunning policy of buying me no new clothes once I started getting unacceptably fat, my bright orange pants were about 3 sizes too small. Probably about the same as going commando, but less comfortable.

motherinferior · 08/06/2017 17:49

Oh, commando in hot weather is the way to go!

herbaceous · 08/06/2017 17:51

Ooh, I don't like commando. Find I get 'chafing'.

Stropperella · 08/06/2017 17:57

Fgs, no. Far too much in the way of freedom. I like my undercarriage carefully constrained.

motherinferior · 08/06/2017 17:59

To quote the late great Terry Pratchett's Nanny Ogg, I likes to feel the air circulate.Wink
