Fake tan recommendations

Looking to buy a fake tan, looking for something that goes on easily and isn't streaky/patchy and that has a natural colour(not orange) I was going to buy fake bake flawless coconut but decided to ask on here for recommendations before making a purchase!
Also if anyone has any tips for applying fake tan that would be great.

Sorry I can't help as I came on here to ask the same thing! So watching with interest.

Or alternatively would people recommend going to a salon and having it done professionally? (In which case, what type? Spray or the other one? [fake tan virgin])

In answer to your question I have had a spray tan several times and it has been fine.
I just want to do it myself for convenience.

Bondi beach fake tan is good. Think it's called that? I find that it doesn't clog pours and goes on just shaven legs really well. Smells nice too.

Bondi Sands liquid gold is my favourite by far. The colour is lovely, not orange at all. There is no guide colour though so you have to make sure it goes on evenly. No washing off required too.

Bondi Sands is fab, I tend to use the dark one as it lasts for aaaaaaages. If you want something cheaper than I cannot fault St Moriz. It's a dupe for St Tropez (which is also fab btw). The St Moriz is a natural colour and doesn't streak, I just find it doesn't last as long as Bondi Sands or St Tropez.

Oh and I always get a tinted mousse formula, I find it's fool proof because you can see the colour as it goes on and I find the mousse doesn't streak. I also use a tanning mitt to apply, and be sure to exfoliate before and moisturise ankles, feet, knees, elbows and hands

Btw when I said that they last for ages, I meant that the colour stays on your skin for days without fading. Just realised that I wasn't very clear.

So if it lasts for a few days, how do you keep up your tan? Do you do this once a week or perhaps twice to keep it up?

I use coco brown tan, in extra dark which means I only need one layer. This week I'm on holiday so I knew I'd want to re apply. So I moisturise, which makes it easier to scrub the tan on with a loofah glove. I then re apply. But at home I tend to apply once a week and let it fade for a few days then re apply before weekend. People always tell me I look great on my first couple of tan days, so I reckon I look better with it. But can't be bothered usually.

St moritz and it's so cheap! I've only used the foam version though

I have tried all sorts but a fail safe cheap and easy fake tan is the dove gradual tan in medium/dark. I loved St Tropez but this NEVER streaks and I just use it 3 days in a row to get a fabulous colour. Everyone comments but I never look orange! Great to use just on your face and neck too overnight

It's the dove that I currently use but I am always streaky, it must just be that I am shit at putting it on!

Pistachio I tend to scrub/moisturise/tan on a Thursday night. And then just be careful not to wash/rub myself too hard in the shower over the next few days. And moisturise EVERY day after showering. And it tends to last and look good for 3/4 days. Then I tend to scrub and reapply again (you don't need to worry about scrubbing it all off, just make sure there's no patchy bits because the new layer of tan will stick to those)

FortyFaced I never got on with the Dove tan, I always went streaky with it too. Definitely try a tinted mousse formula, I honestly find them fool proof

Yes I think one that you can see where you have put it is best for someone like me

M&S new oil tanner. Light, natural, no smell or streaking. A bottle does two full body tans on me so £6 per ran. Doesnt stain sheets either.

I've been using st tropez in shower tan . It's really good and hasn't streaked at all! I'm very fair and the light doesn't show up much so go for medium if you have any colour at all.

A beautician recommended me St moritz-I got it in semi chem for about £4 and its fab. And I am a total fake tan novice!

Another vote for the St Tropez shower one. I'm very pale but it's fine on me and never streaks. It does take several applications to see a difference so I use St Moritz if in a hurry.

St Tropez gradual tan. Exfoliate in the shower at night and apply with a mitt after shower. Go to bed, wake up with a perfect tan.

I usually apply two nights running and then it lasts for 4-5 days before needing reapplying.

I always used St Tropez in the past but lately found Palmers Cocoa Butter gradual tan lotion really good.
But despite using fake tan for 20ish years I don't know how to get it on the backs of my hands without making a total mess of my palms/knuckles/in between my fingers (I'm very light skinned and the difference between fake tanned arms and my non tanned hands is very obvious).
I've tried using loads of hand cream and then rubbing the backs of my hands together but that's very hit and miss!
The other problem I have is when I do my 2nd application of the season, I shower, exfoliate but then I'm patchy and it's hard to get an even colour.

Cherry I use a gradual face tanner on the backs on my hands.
