Navy wrap dress: where can I find one?

Hoping someone may be able to help on this, please...

I need a navy wrap dress for some photos. Has to be plain matte navy; has to have sleeves (long or short); has to be a genuine wrap dress (i.e. one where you can adjust the fit by tying it, not just a "fixed wrap").

I would love this one, but it doesn't come in my size (18/20):

Does anyone have any ideas? I've tried all my usual stores and nothing really hits the mark...

There really aren't many about at all, are there? too plain / basic?

MrsLettuce · 15/05/2017 21:15

this is also very plain and basic

how about this? cut is easier to see with this colour. It's not a classic wrap but not a fixed wrap either. Could it work? Dunno.

Ooh, I'm clicking like a demon on all these links - thanks so much, this is really helpful!!

Yes, the plain and basic stuff is a bit hard to find, for some reason. Unfortunately I'm quite constrained in what I can wear in order to fit in with what the other people in the photo will be wearing.

Can you say why it's so precise?

bingolittle · 16/05/2017 10:31

Calzone - most of the specifications are about what will go well with the other people's outfits (I stupidly left mine till last and just assumed a plain navy dress would be easy to find!)

Bare arms are a bit of a problem in portraits, even if you have good arms; it's a large area of skin and takes attention away from the faces. Hence the sleeves.

Wrap dresses are best for me because I'm very top-heavy. I need something that will cover up my chest without giving me the dreaded monolithic unibosom effect. Also my weight fluctuates quite a bit, and the photos are a couple of months away, so I need something I can adjust and cinch in at the waist to whatever size I happen to be at that point!

Sorry to be so awkward - by now you're probably wishing you hadn't asked!
