Is this smart enough to wear to a wedding?

If I dress it up with snazzy heals and accessories? jumpsuit

Wedding is in early July. 5pm-2am in the countryside. Couple are young and gorgeous and bride has great style and I always feel frumpy whenever I'm within 20 feet of her, so I want to get a new outfit for the day, but want to avoid conventional Coast or Monsoon wedding guest type thing.

Failing this (or other jumpsuits) any other suggestions for a stylish but not too trendy outfit? I'm 41, 5ft7, a size 10/12, my style tends to be quite neutral, neat (and comfortable!) basics/ classics like skinny trousers and fine merino sweaters (for work). I rarely get dressed up, so I'm struggling to know where to start. Help!

Gosh, you guys are amazing Smile! Thank you so much for all the suggestions. I love some of those shoes - those velvet Next sandals are gorgeous Ginger

So, can I wear a linen blazer (it's that natural/ cream linen colour) with said sandals (or similar)? Or is that the wrong fabric?

And, finally, what colour bag?? Also nude-ish?

I think it would be all right if you made it very glamorous with accessories which are contrasting to make it look bright and gay too. Otherwise it would look too casual and too black - for the summer especially.

I love a jumpsuit for a wedding, especially with a slightly cropped collarless blazer and heels. Have fun!

Hi OP just wanted to say I have the same Uniqlo jumpsuit in navy in your original post, personally I find it really flattering and easy to wear. (I'm a 5'4 size 8).

I'd totally wear it to a not too formal wedding with good hairdo and accessories, but seeing as it's in July the navy may be a bit too workwear/ not summer wedding enough.

A friend wore a jumpsuit to our wedding and looked fantastic!

Go for it - but not white or black

Navy is fine
