Long tops that don't cling?

Yorkshirebornandbred · 02/05/2017 18:41

I'm trying to lose some weight but in the meantime need some new tops.

I'm looking for something that'll cover my huge bum, preferably with a lowish scoop neck, short or 3/4 sleeves. I've got Tshirt and vest tops but they all cling to my flab - which unfortunately reaches to under my bobs Sad

Any suggestions? I've been to h&m, new look ... often I find something that's about right but with a crew neck - which frankly makes me look like some old matron due to 34gg chest!

I've not got a huge budget, maybe up to about £25 ...

TIA

I guess a bit of a swing style is what I'm looking for. .. but not something that makes me look pregnant!

Watching with interest...

Some long tops that don't have random bits cut out of them would be nice too!

Amrapaali · 02/05/2017 19:09

Don't look for just a top. Go for 2 or 3 tops. Lyering is your friend. Fitted long line vest to cover bum and then floaty short shirt on top

MrsChopper · 02/05/2017 19:12

Also you could look up tunics, they meet your requirements.

LouieLou2013 · 02/05/2017 19:13

Joe Brown do some nice Tunics, only slightly above budget

Something like this I meant

AWholeLottaRosie · 02/05/2017 19:24

Mantaray range at Debenhams, they show the models from the back so you can check bum-length. Wait a week or so and they'll probably have a sale on...

Yorkshirebornandbred · 02/05/2017 19:40

Thanks. Some great suggestions, I like the tesco one, I'll have a look at Mantaray and Joe Brown's too.

I have nice long fitted vests from Dunnes, usually I just wear a cardigan over. Not sure what floaty top I could wear. ..

I just bought some long sleeved and long tops from hnm but it didn't look like they would be as long when I ordered online.

Mamia15 · 02/05/2017 21:32

Linen seems to be a trend - lots of nice linen tops around...

Mamia15 · 02/05/2017 21:33

That are loose fitting and long

Yorkshirebornandbred · 03/05/2017 01:25

Any links Mamia?

Cos had some lovely 100% cotton tops that are long enough to cover, have batwing sleeves and wash really well.
I saw them in the shop in navy or a sunny yellow.

Saw some in Uniqlo, m&s, H&M and Boden - so you'll have to trawl through their websites I'm afraid.

UppityHumpty · 03/05/2017 06:45

What size are you?

Yorkshirebornandbred · 03/05/2017 09:19

Size 16

In that case Yours and Simply Be might be ideal.

Have a look on zulily, I noticed some lovely tunics on there.

Theycalledmethewildrose · 03/05/2017 15:00

Type 'swing' into the Boden website. Their swing top is probably the only item of clothing I have ever kept from there. Don't choose white as it is see through!

Yorkshirebornandbred · 03/05/2017 19:41

The necks are too high on the boden tops Sad
