I am amazed you find them long at 5'8". I find them all too short! I bought a sweater this winter and it bobbled like mad. Lots of complaints on the feedback. Loads of sales on Boden and most of it is over priced for the average quality. The prints and appliqué scream Boden and should be avoided at all costs. Their sale can have good reductions and I do think their range of Breton T shirts is good but most of it leaves me unmoved.

I'm 5ft 8. I find all their dresses too short, and all the waistlines are near the boobs.

The best length for me is mid calf. This length is newish in fashion. The fact that Boden haven't really adopted this yet makes me struggle to understand how their dresses are too long to be 'frumpy' . I think knee length and shorter look dated, particularly knee length which suits no one imo.

I made my first Boden purchase (a Breton top) when I was 25. I still wear a fair amount of Boden 15 years later. Mainly wrap dresses for work and Breton tops for weekends. I'm certainly not at the cutting edge of fashion, but I don't think I'm that frumpy either!

I wear a few Boden things, but I am 48 and not a mum, so who knows what that means?

I have the wrap top in the style if that green dress and it's nice. I always get compliments on my dresses at work, the Boden ones no less than any others. Though Laura Ashley most I think (always buy them in the sale, they have really good reductions and they sell sod all so there's always stuff left).

I walked past the Boden HO recently, it has a big sign that says 'ugly building, nice clothes' and it was an ugly building!

Actually, wrap dresses below the knee are current;y in fashion, and these look very Boden to me.

dailystuck71 · 28/04/2017 07:57

I live in a town where Boden and joules are everywhere. You can spot wearers a mile away. They are like clones.

hahahaIdontgetit · 28/04/2017 08:01

I think Bowden has a very distinctive "look" that I'm not keen on. But if you love it then wear it.

hahahaIdontgetit · 28/04/2017 08:02

Boden even! (Although Bowden and Hale Barnes also have a very distinctive look).

The male stuff is dreadful.

Unless you are trying to look like a geography teacher at a sixth form disco.

Mamia15 · 28/04/2017 08:58

Depends - a lot of it isn't my style but I do love their shift dresses (the plain ones) and some of their blazers as I have the right body shape for these. Their trousers look shit on me though.

I think a lot of mid price brands have the potential to scream mumsy - White Stuff, Monsoon, Joules, Fat Face etc.

I love dresses for work - so easy, no need to think about matching tops to bottoms etc and are a very practical option.

If you like Boden but are worried about looking frumpy, why not try Baukjen? (I am a Baukjen evangelist but not employed by them, honest!). Great wrap dresses, good quality (I live in my 4 Darton dresses and Coco shirts) and I think (hope!) pretty stylish.

Constant sales too.
