Men's jumpers genius idea

I am constantly searching for decent fine knit ( I have boobs so can't do chunky) jumpers in the shops. I went shopping the other week and couldn't find anything remotely normal/ plain - all weird flouncy crap.

Was a bit chilly and grabbed dh's jumper off the bannister. A grey crew neck fine knit jumper, of which he has about a million.
Low and behold it fit me really nicely and was exactly the sort of thing I have been looking for.
This is an untapped source! Does anyone else buy men's jumpers? I am sick of being over charged and sold crap just because it's women's wear.

I routinely nick DH's lambswool Gap crew neck jumpers...

Doesn't work for me - the sleeves are too long. I've tried pinching my teen DS's jumpers (after I've bought them and he refuses to wear them!) and they fit everywhere but the sleeves.

I buy men's pyjamas.

The legs are longer and they have pockets.

Doesn't work for me as a pear. Shoulders are miles too big if they fit round the hip.

He wears small/ medium and slim fit stuff which helps. I am a bit of an apple shape so being a teeny but looser on the tum is good for me.

I have acquired a white linen shirt of DHs after searching high and low for a normal 'relaxed fit' linen shirt, the women's ones were either fitted or overpriced!

H&M men's jumpers. 100% wool and cheap as chips. Or indeed uniqlo. My sister's been doing this for years. I can't. I need some waist shaping to look ok.

Men's clothes are often better made for the same price. I'm broad shouldered and fairly flat chested, and have always worn men's shirts and jumpers. Men's boxers can be quite comfortable too.

I buy men's jumpers - as well as being cheaper, they're usually longer in length and arms too!

So much more merino available for men! I have bought a few men's jumpers from Zara which usually had pink and paler shades.

100% cotton pink jumper for £26. I am 5 10 so it won't be overtly large on me, just oversized looking, much better than women's jumpers which don't reach my waist band.

I find most jumpers for women shorter than I would like and the colour palette for the men's range is more to my taste.

My DD lives in Woolovers crewnecks in winter, some of which are unisex (and the women's sized ones she likes are the same style. She used to like 'boys' jumpers when she was a preteen - there simply weren't any sensible 'girls' ones available.

I wear M&S men's Italian merino jumpers, they're infinitely nicer than most ladies versions. I'm a size 14 but get large size for a slouchy fit. They wash beautifully too.

Yes! DH got fed up with me nicking his M&S fine knit v-necks so I bought some of my own. I appreciate the slightly-too-long sleeves; I have crap circulation so I can pull them over my cold hands and warm them up!

KingJoffery is right about pyjamas too. I'm 5' 10" and I'm yet to find women's pyjama bottoms that hang past the middle of my shins.

I do. There was a lengthy thread on this last winter and someone suggested buying "camp cashmere". My jumper isn't cashmere, but I love it. I find V necks on women's jumpers too deep (I have no boobs) and the arms are never long enough. Heaven save me from the ubiquitous and pointless 3/4 length sleeve jumper.

I have added H and M and Zara to my list to look in next time I am shopping.

Yes. I buy uniqlo merino jumpers.

Yes, big fan of men's jumpers, cardigans, socks, tshirts as it's often easier to get half decent quality, classic stuff without frilly bits

I buy loads of stuff from the men's/boys section. Tshirts I nearly always get men's as I find women's are often cut to curve at the waist and it is never at the right point on me, men's are cut straight and I like a boxier fit, and loose armholes.

Most of my cashmere jumpers are from the men's section, again I prefer the cut and I like my jumpers very baggy so I get a men's large or xl so it will fit DP and be massive on me (size 6/8) this also means I can buy more as they are for us to 'share'

Men's shirts too, especially linen and light cotton for on holiday just roomier and generally breezier. I also think the construction on men's shirts tends to be far better quality than the equivalent brand women's shirts, and often much nicer natural fabrics rather than polyester crap.

Yes, when I shop in H&M I check out the whole shop except girls (teen boys has the odd nice top I can get into at the top of the age range)

I got a camp cashmere bargin this year - actually a cotton cashmere blend which works well for me and forest green so not that camp.

It's not the most flattering shape wise but it was v neck and long which I wanted for lazy weekend days.

20 quid from to maxx. I got x small and am a 12 in jumpers usually.

Men's jumpers, PJs, socks, dome shoes, T shirts..... at one point I was even slim enough to wear men's DH's jeans.

I need a v-neck otherwise I look like just one massive ambulatory bosom, so can't generally wear men's jumpers any more, to my everlasting sadness. Oh, I miss my long-lost flat chest!

BUT men's dressing-gowns are bigger, better-made, longer, and aren't in stupid pastels with stupid cat patterns or stupid "live to lounge" slogans on them. (Why would anyone want a shortie dressing-gown anyway? You wear them to be warm!) I love them.
