Thread 1 Thread 2 Thread 3 Thread 4 Thread 5 Thread 6

I am very slowly working on consolidating the gathered information from previous threads into easier to read formats but it’s slow going. In order to make use of the below form and join in I would suggest reading thread 1 and at the very least the following info sheets (provided they apply to you):

Basics of an Actives Routine

Where to Start

Anti-Ageing Info sheet

Adult Acne Info Sheet

For those who are taking a peek and wondering what this all about, we mostly discuss a bit of advanced skincare here with a perspective of seeking out the right ingredients (rather than the latest new shiny product and all its empty promises) for our particular skin needs. Distinguishing the acid toners from the actives whilst avoiding the truly unimpressive and harmful ingredients with a hope to achieve a bit of anti-ageing, alleviate irritation and sensitivities with some idle chat in between. Deviations on this thread are mostly my fault. Grin

If you're in need of some advice coming to grips with your skincare routine please don't hesitate to ask, we don't bite, only occasionally sting with a bit of Biologique Recherche P50 now and then Wink. Just make sure to state clearly what your concerns and needs are in as much detail as possible, skincare is highly individual and a random recommendation for a 'good' product will be completely different from one person to the next.

Make sure you've read the earlier threads (or at the very least the first one and the linked docs) so we're not being asked to answer previously raised questions. It takes a lot of time and effort to answer these queries and often the answers can be found in previous threads, but if you still have questions relating specifically to you, use the following form to make life easier on us . Please note, the form is not here to generate a routine for you, sometimes it involves product recommendations but mostly it's there so we can answer a specific question without having to go back and forth endlessly. Also, not everyone will have answers and sometimes we can't answer you at all. We're only a bunch of amateurs that can respond by suggesting what we would do in your place, for any severe conditions please seek out professional help.

Ahem, and finally a little note on spending. I'm well aware these threads cause many to reach for their wallets and spend with wild abandon. There can sometimes be a bit of a frenzy surrounding the excitement around a newly discovered product or on the back of great improvements when someone reports back. This is all great, it doesn't however, mean everything that's a sudden miracle for one will be it for you. Usually, it's a light bulb moment for connecting the right skincare ingredient with an individual experiencing a specific problem. Take your time to mull over decisions and question whether it's right for you too. Skincare is highly individual, it's a slow game that should cost mostly in patience, input, education, and perseverance. Please don't make it cost you financially needlessly.

Olli aren't you supposed to be taking it easy? And you've made bo de-lurk

Ollivander84 · 16/05/2017 13:39

I sat down to put it on WinkGrin

Pupsiecola · 16/05/2017 13:46

Guy that's exactly what I did at first. I had a little sheet for my routine/products/what each one did and I'd update and print, update and print.

EnidButton · 16/05/2017 13:52

Nice! That is a great colour. Fingers crossed it wears well throughout the day because it looks really good. Could be a winner.

Ollivander84 · 16/05/2017 13:53

I would say it probably won't work for dry skin unless with a good primer. Interested to compare the serum one when it arrives. It's similar to Lancome but perhaps a shade less coverage. Colour is spot on though

EnidButton · 16/05/2017 13:53

Thanks for the LRP tip yong Going to skip EH tonight and try it.

EnidButton · 16/05/2017 13:54

Is coverage buildable?

Ollivander84 · 16/05/2017 13:55

Yeah I would say so, I just used a damp beauty blender. Haven't got any concealer on or powder, just the foundation over moisturiser. I like the pump bottle too

EnidButton · 16/05/2017 13:56

So far so good! Really impressed with the colour.

IncognitoAvocado · 16/05/2017 14:26

Hi all, just been reading through these threads and I'm hooked! I'm already very interested in skincare but have picked up some great tips.

I have the Ordinary foundation on order and am considering ordering some skincare from them too. Currently using LRP redermic C in the morning and R at night. Did anyone find a decent alternative to the discontinued Toleriane Fluide? I loved that stuff.

I've just ordered Hylamide Vit C from Lookfantastic for £16 with a discount code as I'm hoping its a bit less greasy that the Redermic C. Has anyone tried it?

IncognitoAvocado · 16/05/2017 15:04

I've just come across this

www.eucerin.co.uk/products/hypersensitive-skin/ultrasensitive-soothing-care-normal-to-combination-skin

The first 3 ingredients are the same as the Toleriane Fluide. Tempted to order some. Anyone tried it?

RubyGoat · 16/05/2017 16:33

IncognitoAvocado - I've recently started with Avene Hydrance for combination skin. Rather like it, in fact I've just added some to my EPP basket... Grin I think someone on here has mentioned the Eucerin moisturiser as well, though.

Olli - I like that foundation. And remain envious of you skin, hopefully mine will improve as well, I've just introduced the TO MAP imto my regime. My skin did not like niacinamide at all. I am using a lot of concealer at present...

Bo - hope all is well with you & that you are just busy again.

I have a terrible short-term memory, due to chronic migraines & my meds to prevent them. I made a little timetable, based on Bo's sheets in the links, & just added everything in. It definitely helps (although I'm so short-sighted that DH laughed when he saw me peering at it in the bathroom the other day, nose about 12cm from the sheet...)

mintmagnummm · 16/05/2017 17:09

Lego do u mind me asking what medication you take? I'm a chronic migraine sufferer too and I get them very frequent, am waiting on a brain scan at present Confused. I take codydramol for fibromyalgia but they don't even touch the pain of my migraines Sad

wiltingfast · 16/05/2017 17:32

Looks great Olli! You just use LRP to cleanse now?

Was pondering the TO Colours but can't decide what colour to choose. How did you pick?

I came across a review on YouTube if anyone is interested.

Lego What happened with niacinamide? My skin not keen on it either...

Ollivander84 · 16/05/2017 17:37

I do :)
I picked the palest and coolest but apparently Wayne goss has a YouTube video and the description under it compares the shades to MAC ones

JDSTER · 16/05/2017 18:53

Just to say I've tried just using LRP toleriane as a sole cleanser at night and didn't work for me. I've used it both with or without a cloth and definitely didn't remove all my make up. Also left a film I didn't like. Strange because I like it as a second cleanse but not as my makeup remover, if that makes sense. I do have oily skin so possibly a factor.

Toleriane fluid still available on line (I've got 5 or 6 stashed).

Cerave pm lotion is good for the price. I'm not sure that niacinamide does much for my skin. I have TO niacinamide plus zinc. I've also got a LRP moisturiser (not available here yet) with niacinamide that I'm using at night. I hoped niacinamide would help with pores but don't think it's made much difference.

RubyGoat · 16/05/2017 18:53

I'm on Topiramate for Hemiplegic migraines. Plus a lot of vitamins as it completely strips them out of the body (which is why I've lost approximately 75% of my hair density since I started on it - looks fine in a pixie cut, but dreadful long. It used to be nearly knee length & really thick.)

Niacinamide - spots. Really big painful ones... my HG concealer is the now sadly discontinued Lancome Teint Miracle. Thankfully I stocked up!

userallusedup · 16/05/2017 19:30

Olli I'd forgotten you ordered TO foundation, & thought it was Pupsie - sorry Pupsie!

But I'm glad it's arrived and thank you for the review, hopefully it will suit my oily skin - when it finally arrives as I've heard absolutely nothing from Victoria Health Sad. And I ordered a medium shade which I thought would be less popular.

I like the cerave night cream, I may go back to it as not over enthused about TO natural moisturising factors which I'm using currently, it's got a sort of siliconey slippy primer type texture to it that I don't like. I use TO nia though so might be nia overkill? I also like cerave face wash for normal to oily skin, I use it for my 2nd cleanse/morning wash. It does say foaming but it's not very foamy if that makes sense, it really suits my skin but it would probably be too drying for anyone who isn't oily.

IncognitoAvocado · 16/05/2017 19:45

Where does everyone get CeraVe products? I noticed Dr Sam mentioned that they are launching here soon in one of her videos. I can't wait as I've wanted to try them for ages.

I've got my TO foundation on order from Victoria Health but haven't heard anything since I ordered it a couple of weeks ago. I suspect I'll be waiting quite a while.

Has anyone tried the squalane? I'm wondering if that would work as a very light moisturiser under my sunscreen. All these layers are tricky for my oily skin.

EnidButton · 16/05/2017 20:01

Lancôme keep posting pics of their new teint idole concealer. Don't think it's out in Europe yet, just the US. (Hate it when they do that.) Anyway it looks pretty good.

RubyGoat · 16/05/2017 20:32

Miffy - I think so. It's the "Ultra" that's not as good as it has shea butter in (I think).

I like the look of the new Lancome concealer. I love the Teint Miracle one, but it's got a brush applicator which I'm not so keen on - I do clean it periodically with baby shampoo but I'm still wary of germ buildup.

userallusedup · 16/05/2017 20:34

Incognito I get my Cerave products from Amazon. Pretty reasonably priced (though not as cheap as they are in the US) and free delivery if you have Prime.
