Grey nail polish...help!

Need recommendations for an amazing grey nail polish please. One that doesn't have any blue or purple undertones, preferably. Like a proper grey. All the ones I've tried just don't hit the spot. They look too mauve-y.

Any suggestions? TIA.

I have a Barry M gelly nail polish in grey that I quite like... but have never found the perfect grey either!

DandelionAndBedrock · 16/04/2017 21:47

OPI normally has a few floating around - have you tried them? They released a 50 shades of grey collection which you can probably get online (google for swatches).

I have "nein, nein, ok fine" which is quite a dark grey.

Thanks dandelion, I will have a peek at OPI. I like their reds.

Essie Take it Outside looks nice from my googling. Has anyone tried that?

Porchester square by nails inc without fail.

I have that rioja and it really doesn't suit me. Thank you though.

The Thames by Nails Inc

I'm no expert but I have Maybelline Empire Grey which is ludicrously flattering. To me it looks like a non-blue type grey, don't know if it is what you are looking for?

TipBoov · 16/04/2017 22:00

I love Barry M chai, it's a light grey.

I think I may be aiming for something like this. It's called Master Plan. Is this what chic folk call 'griege'? Confused

Also try cheeky nails "cloud fine"

tip (love the username, BTW) that is another I have tried, unfortunately. Not right on my hands. Maybe I have a strange skin tone.

I am googling all your suggestions. Thank you for all the replies. Please keep them coming.

Liquid leather by China glaze is also the best black polish I've ever owned (I've tried a lot of them!)

Just incase you wanted a black one too Smile

robinia · 16/04/2017 22:05

I like Rimmel 60secs Man Overboard but it's a bit darker than your picture.

continues · 16/04/2017 22:06

Thank you frog. I may need something lighter as dark greys just wash out my hands.

Why are there so many choices?!? Grin

I like rimmel 60 seconds 'grey matter', if you can still get it or Rita ora rimmel 'rain go away' is nice but a bit more greige, and less true grey. I love grey nail polish. Easter Smile

IlonaRN · 16/04/2017 22:53

Please tell me which ones you have that are too blue/mauve :-)

ActuallyThatsSUPREMECommander · 16/04/2017 22:58

I got a nice Leighton Denny one in the M&S sale. I think it might have been Zero Gravity?

polyhymnia · 16/04/2017 23:00

I love Essie Chinchilly but is it too blue? Chanel Frenzy also good.

Isitjustmeorisiteveryoneelse · 16/04/2017 23:02

Mavala have a few greys at the moment, small pots not too expensive, lovely coverage.

BlueTwit · 16/04/2017 23:15

I think the Essie shade in the picture is Cocktail Bling, my favourite. Looks a bit blue on me (Asian skin) but came out a pure grey on (white) DSD when she borrowed it.

Tisgrand · 16/04/2017 23:19

I've just opened and applied my new bottle of "& other stories" nail polish in Alum Cloud. Cant find a pic of it anywhere online to link. Its a lovely soft pale grey and gives good non streaky coverage in 2 coats.

carrie74 · 17/04/2017 02:42

Shellac Rubble? I love Asphalt too, but might be too dark for you. I like Cityscape too. This is the Rubble:
