Are these shoes too clompy for a wedding?

I want some red shoes and can't wear anything too high these days (life's too short to be in agony from shoes these days, I'm too old, etc) but think pointy courts might look a bit old-fashioned with my dress.

I've seen these www.newlook.com/shop/shoe-gallery/view-all-wide-fit/wide-fit-red-suedette-ankle-strap-heels_515573260?tmcampid=75&tmplaceref=lower&extcam=UK_DRS_BRT_Criteo_DesktopDisplay&tmad=c&tmcampid=75

This is my dress and I'll be wearing it over a black slip dress and possibly bare (fake tanned) legs. Or can wear the metallic shoes in the photo? I just fancied red though.

You can def wear those shoes! Love the dress. And the metallic shoes too #unhelpful

Cakescakescakes · 10/04/2017 17:29

Love those shoes!

Nettletheelf · 10/04/2017 17:30

My answer to the question is "yes".

Itchyandscratchy · 10/04/2017 17:45

Yes too clompy, Nettletheelf?
But not so for the others?
Hmmm, it's down to personal taste I guess isn't it? #screaminglyobvious

Defo not too clumpy BUT do the red shoes go with the dress given the pink flowers etc? If yes, red shoes it is! I like the dress BTW.

BikeRunSki · 10/04/2017 17:55

Great dress
Great shoes
Great outfit

I am also too old to be uncomfortable.

GotToGetMyFingerOut · 10/04/2017 17:57

No they aren't too clompy but I think the Metallic ones go better.

Bluntness100 · 10/04/2017 18:00

The metallic shoes are fine, but the red ones are a shocker sorry op. Not sure what look your pe going for, but they are certainly not elegant, definitely not sexy, and for me not even very nice.Hmm

MaidenMotherCrone · 10/04/2017 18:03

Ooof those red ones are a bit grim. Stick with the ones you have. It's a lovely outfit.

happypoobum · 10/04/2017 18:20

I don't like the metallic ones but I do like the red ones Grin

However, they look like they "rock up" at the toe? That always makes me feel a bit queasy when I walk in shoes that do that.......

Persemillion · 10/04/2017 18:21

The dress is beautiful!

I like the shoes shown very much. The red ones are not as delicate as the dress. Those won't match it nicely as the metallic ones.

Freezingwinter · 10/04/2017 18:22

I think the red ones are cool! Are the flowers on your dress red? Red shoes are always a winner!

PunjanaTea · 10/04/2017 18:24

I think the gold ones will look better. The secret to comfort at a wedding wearing shoes you're not used to is party feet insole things and a supply of blister plasters inyour handbag.

blueskyinmarch · 10/04/2017 18:25

I like the red shoes but i would worry they don’t really match the dress. The flowers on the dress look pink. I really like matchy things and red with pink would stress me!

Crashbangwhatausername · 10/04/2017 18:30

Oh please stick with the lovely
Metallic ones

burnishedsilver · 10/04/2017 18:42

I prefer the gold ones for a wedding.

Reow · 10/04/2017 18:43

Lovely dress!

Itchyandscratchy · 10/04/2017 20:50

Thanks. The red is more prominent on the dress than it seems from the pic. I wore them with borrowed red shoes to an autumn wedding but with tights. Think will stick to metallic for this wedding then (they're more silver/pewter than gold).

Beautiful dress but can you dance drunk in those lovely shoes?

originalbiglymavis · 10/04/2017 20:53

Ooo no, not the red. The shiny ones rock.

OCDmummy123 · 10/04/2017 20:55

You know what it's your wedding your day you wear what u want you'll look great don't worry! Dress for yourself!

missyB1 · 10/04/2017 20:56

That dress is gorgeous where's it from? The shoes are perfect by the way!

hecallsmebunny · 10/04/2017 21:22

I like both shoes (totally unhelpful!) Grin

GinIsIn · 10/04/2017 21:25

I love the red ones - the metallic shoes are a bit frumpy and early 00s

SwedishEdith · 10/04/2017 21:26

Where is the dress from?
