Are these shoes too clompy for a wedding?

I want some red shoes and can't wear anything too high these days (life's too short to be in agony from shoes these days, I'm too old, etc) but think pointy courts might look a bit old-fashioned with my dress.

I've seen these www.newlook.com/shop/shoe-gallery/view-all-wide-fit/wide-fit-red-suedette-ankle-strap-heels_515573260?tmcampid=75&tmplaceref=lower&extcam=UK_DRS_BRT_Criteo_DesktopDisplay&tmad=c&tmcampid=75

This is my dress and I'll be wearing it over a black slip dress and possibly bare (fake tanned) legs. Or can wear the metallic shoes in the photo? I just fancied red though.

Love the red shoes. Would clomp my happy way anywhere in them if I could walk in heels. But sadly they do look too, er, assertive to go with that dress.

Get them anyway and find another dress to match them. Grin

I prefer the metallic ones, the red ones are too clumpy. I like metallic shoes anyway though but I like the shape of yours.

I think those red shoes are lovely and will look fab with the dress.

Not my wedding, OCDmummy123 but lol at thought of me rocking up spouting "it's MY wedding and I'll wear what I want!" My friends, including bride, would be all Hmm but not massively surprised especially once the fizz goes down...

Dress is from Zara, bought in Sept.
I think the verdict from MNetters on the shoes is that half the wedding guess will be ewwwwww and half will love.

Where is the dress from?

I love the red ones - the metallic shoes are a bit frumpy and early 00s

I like both shoes (totally unhelpful!) Grin

Ooo no, not the red. The shiny ones rock.

Beautiful dress but can you dance drunk in those lovely shoes?

Thanks. The red is more prominent on the dress than it seems from the pic. I wore them with borrowed red shoes to an autumn wedding but with tights. Think will stick to metallic for this wedding then (they're more silver/pewter than gold).

I like the red shoes but i would worry they don’t really match the dress. The flowers on the dress look pink. I really like matchy things and red with pink would stress me!

I think the gold ones will look better. The secret to comfort at a wedding wearing shoes you're not used to is party feet insole things and a supply of blister plasters inyour handbag.

I think the red ones are cool! Are the flowers on your dress red? Red shoes are always a winner!

The dress is beautiful!

I like the shoes shown very much. The red ones are not as delicate as the dress. Those won't match it nicely as the metallic ones.

I don't like the metallic ones but I do like the red ones Grin

However, they look like they "rock up" at the toe? That always makes me feel a bit queasy when I walk in shoes that do that.......

The metallic shoes are fine, but the red ones are a shocker sorry op. Not sure what look your pe going for, but they are certainly not elegant, definitely not sexy, and for me not even very nice.Hmm

No they aren't too clompy but I think the Metallic ones go better.
