I have a couple of pairs of Skechers slip on Go Walk, which tick the box for comfort but they aren't the nicest looking. I have mobility issues so prefer flattish shoes, but I can't wear little pumps as I tend to either step out of them, or spread my feet to keep them on (slapping my feet off ground as I walk). Slip on Skechers are fine, I think cos they cover more of the top of my foot.

This is a long winded way of asking for comfy but more dressy than Skechers recommendations please- that will suit skirts or trousers. Closed or open toe /sandals

My ugly shoes killed the thread! BUT I walked seven miles in them the other day and they were beautifully comfortable. And they honestly don't look anywhere near as ugly irl.

I did pick them up to look at in Clarks Remus and they were very light but I couldn't get past the weird white soles.

I have got my eye on these though.

I agree - they've got lots of nice pairs currently.

Tkmaxx is worth having a look at, I have foot issues and recently bought some nice black leather Josef Seibel ones in store. They're not online but lots of Ecco, Geoxx, Scholl etc are on the website.

I have various different pairs of Sebago boat shoes. You can tighten or loosen the laces on them, they're supercomfy and they last really well with minimal cleaning!

These are my latest pair. I live Supergas for spring/summer /autumn but these are more substantial fabric so have worn them over winter.

I have ordered these Gazelles in the navy and light blue.

Am a bit worried they will come up narrow but will report back like a good mumsnetter.

Not narrow at all. I tried on my normal size today and they were too big. I had to size down. The lady in the shop said the most people do need to size down as they are so wide!! I have a wide foot and they are a lovely fit. Google how to lace up converse with a wide foot - I know they aren't converse but the same technique applies - if you find them snug.

I can't say they are comfy as they have a funny bump in the inside where I imagine people who aren't flat footed have a gap? They are so pretty though I don't care how uncomfortable they are

I have some vans and some Veja trainers like this for this kind of weather and some pointy ballet flats too.

Gah, now I have decided I must have the Clarks silver trainers, they are out of stock in my size.

My La Redoute trainers are here and are going straight back. Very small on and have a really uncomfortable bit at the lower heel where the stitching is. Very disappointed as they were actually really nice close up. Oh well back on the shopping treadmill!
