I have a couple of pairs of Skechers slip on Go Walk, which tick the box for comfort but they aren't the nicest looking. I have mobility issues so prefer flattish shoes, but I can't wear little pumps as I tend to either step out of them, or spread my feet to keep them on (slapping my feet off ground as I walk). Slip on Skechers are fine, I think cos they cover more of the top of my foot.

This is a long winded way of asking for comfy but more dressy than Skechers recommendations please- that will suit skirts or trousers. Closed or open toe /sandals

Cheers!

Does anyone's birkies make fart noises? I pulled out mine today and it sounds like I'm farting ever time I move!

MuckedUpAgain · 02/04/2017 15:02

Tommy tomato - those shoes are nice, where did you get them?

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 02/04/2017 15:29

A lot of these are v casual. Can people really wear them for work?

I tend to wear DM Maryjanes, or just boring Clarks ballet flats for work, once boots weather is over.

BarchesterFlowers · 02/04/2017 15:41

No, my work shoes are very different - I thought that the OP wanted casual day/strolling around shops shoes.

PhyllisNefler · 02/04/2017 15:56

I did ask for casual, although I can pretty much wear anything for work.

I got these in Debenhams, they are comfy on. Then I got distracted and bought a suitcase 🤔

I wear Clarks ballet flats for work in the summer. Wish I could wear less formal though.

TomaytoTomahto · 02/04/2017 16:15

MuckedUpAgain Me? Muji!
RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie I wish I could wear those for work but unfortunately my office is really conservative. Doesn't help that I'm vertically challenged only 160cm tall so these are my typical office shoes instead.

Can you actually walk in those *Tomayto? I would need a zimmer frame to help me stand up if I was wearing those shoes.

I tend to stride rather than walk so I prefer comfortable shoes.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 02/04/2017 16:30

Sorry - must have mixed up with another thread.

fruityb · 02/04/2017 16:33

I really don't find Go walks that's hideous! The original style anyway - I liked them!

fruityb · 02/04/2017 16:33

^that hideous

CountFosco · 02/04/2017 16:47

I wear DMs, trainers (leather Converse, Vans, Stan Smiths) or Birkenstocks for casual. I can wear the trainers to work, they look great with smart woollen trousers but I'm a scientist so we're pretty casual. Not allowed to wear the Birkenstocks for work though, no open toes allowed.

Iamastonished · 02/04/2017 16:55

I don't either fruityb. I don't get the MN love for Birkenstock sandals though. They look very clumpy.

PhyllisNefler · 02/04/2017 17:15

I like my Go Walks too, just they are well worn at this stage and would like something a bit dressier. Not sure if I have succeeded, but fueled by a lunchtime Pinot Grigio I ended up with these...

Update- I am keeping the lace ups from M&S, they are super light and comfy. The slip ons are going back, they aren't as nice on. Thanks folks!

Ooh, I like those lace ups.

blodynmawr · 04/04/2017 13:57

I was fed up after 6 months of boot wearing so this spring I have recently acquired:
~ Seasalt blue suede brogues for wearing with work trousers. Good price on the sale Smile.
~ Clarks 'Un Cass' plain black wedge shoes to go with black opaques/dresses for work, but can't link as their site is down.
~ Fiflop bright blue trainer
All the above are very comfortable. Some bright young things at work complemented me on the brogues so feel quite trendy when I wear them Smile despite my primary aim when shoe buying always being comfort rather than style.

PhyllisNefler · 04/04/2017 14:28

My trendy sister thumbs upped the lace ups, so taking that as a good sign. Thanks for the links blodynmawr

I have these, but in black suede with a snakeskin flash/stripe.

AutumnEve · 04/04/2017 15:13

TomaytoTomahto where did you get your shoes? Very nice (I wear similar but they're starting to fall to bits!)

TomaytoTomahto · 04/04/2017 16:54

AutumnEve All my casual shoes are from Muji (they never cost more than £25). If you're asking about my work ones, then I usually go Louboutin. My current pair's the black Decollete 554. They have it in nude too IIRC but that one looks odd with my skin tone.

AvaCrowder · 04/04/2017 18:10

I find these very comfortable.

OCSockOrphanage · 04/04/2017 20:32

Ecco? I just bought some blush pink loafers with a lovely thick sole. Not cheap however, especially with the exchange rate against me.

Friday999 · 04/04/2017 20:51

Can you post a link sockorphanage?

topsyturner · 04/04/2017 21:01

Has anyone tried butterfly twists ?
I like the look of them .
But I'm having side effects from chemo (peripheral neuropathy) and the only shoes I can wear at the moment are my Skechers , and they are pig ugly Grin
