I have a couple of pairs of Skechers slip on Go Walk, which tick the box for comfort but they aren't the nicest looking. I have mobility issues so prefer flattish shoes, but I can't wear little pumps as I tend to either step out of them, or spread my feet to keep them on (slapping my feet off ground as I walk). Slip on Skechers are fine, I think cos they cover more of the top of my foot.

This is a long winded way of asking for comfy but more dressy than Skechers recommendations please- that will suit skirts or trousers. Closed or open toe /sandals

Cheers!

I really like tan, especially for boots.

I am a navy hater though (in fact, I hate most blue clothes).

PhyllisNefler · 06/04/2017 21:13

I need to go through the obscene amount of pairs of shoes I have in my spare room and try on those that I think I can walk in. And fail miserably. And then have a little pity party, and consider getting rid

I really like the carvela ones.

I hate tan or any shade of brown. It really doesn't suit me at all. I love blue and wear it a lot.

WildwestWind · 06/04/2017 23:21

Ive just bought the Merrills for £35 too.

ActuallyThatsSUPREMECommander · 06/04/2017 23:42

Oh those Golas are lovely. I'd buy them at once but mind you I have had Wine

ActuallyThatsSUPREMECommander · 06/04/2017 23:46

Bally do seem to have got madly expensive recently. I had a gorgeous work pair (was asked "are they Prada?") which I cared for religiously for fifteen years but finally had to admit were dead. I think they'd cost me eighty quid in a sale. I looked at Bally to replace them and practically fell off my chair. In the end I got new ones from LK Bennett who looked bargainaceous by comparison.

ZaraW · 07/04/2017 06:53

I wear Kaanas Serengeti and the Marseilles espadrilles. I got them in the sale as they are quite expensive.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 07/04/2017 18:12

I really like Golas, because they seem to be designed for narrow feet. My last pair were not v padded though.

BarchesterFlowers · 07/04/2017 18:20

I have got some ancient tan Camper Pelotas which are similar to those Goals, today's version isn't quite the same.

I am not keen but here they are. I think mine must be before they tipped the quirky balance.

AvaCrowder2 · 07/04/2017 21:03

I think the price of the £ affects any European prices. But I have been wearing Bally for about twenty years and they are more expensive now. My last pair were about €20 cheaper, but that was honks ago too.
Some of their fashion shoes are extremely expensive, they look and feel nice, but I would never pay £600+ for fashion shoes or boots unless I was absolutely made to.
If my mil asks I lie, she still thinks shoes should be the same price as 1976.Grin

wheat32 · 08/04/2017 08:23

I bought these from La Redoute. Hoping the quality is ok. I only paid £21 in the end

Geox Nebula in grey but got mine via Cloggs half price sale and with extra 20% off www.geox.com/en/women/shoes/nebula-tm/?page=1

Also, silver Superga which I find really comfortable. For proper tromping about I wear rather ugly but waterproof and practical Ecco trainers.

y0rkier0se · 08/04/2017 08:44

I find Vans really comfortable. I have these, and a floral grey and purple slip on pair which are my every day shoes. Sandals and dolly shoes type shoes I just get from Tesco if I need to be more dressy but I love my trainers Grin

Wore my new M&S shoes to work yesterday. V comfy while I was pottering around the office, but went for lunch with my colleague about 10 min walk away- my ankles are raw. Look like some weird 50 shades bondage marks- and DH and I just aren't imaginative enough for that

Wheat32 I've had my eye on those too! Let me know what they're like once they've arrived.

AvaCrowder2 · 08/04/2017 09:58

I like those ones Wheat

wheat32 · 08/04/2017 19:30

Don't worry I'll report back - hopefully Tuesday!

happypoobum · 08/04/2017 19:47

I wear Converse or some gorgeous black sandals I got in Cos which were rather pricey.

Birkenstocks rip my feet to shreds.

I also wear heels in spring summer - I find Kurt Geiger are incredibly comfortable.

If I know I will be doing a lot of walking and can't get away with converse, and it's too cold for sandals, I will wear loafers. Next usually have fairly cheap ones.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 08/04/2017 20:19

I've just bought some ugly (but not as ugly as Skechers) things in Clarks, for a city break next week. They are really comfortable and the lightest shoes I've ever lifted. Will weigh virtually nothing in my rucksack!

They look better on

Even v stylish dd1 approves.

Iamastonished · 08/04/2017 20:34

Sorry, but those are way more ugly than Sketchers, which IMO, aren't that ugly.

Nojellyintrifle · 08/04/2017 20:38

I have these, old Kurt Geiger

They are much slimmer than Skechers and are suede, rather than that weird t-shirt fabric stuff. They are definitely not as ugly. We'll have to fight over this. Grin

Any news* @wheat32* ?
