Just checking out what's in at the moment and to my horror found out that it's mainly the worst of the 80s! Ruffles, shoulderpads, etc, and having lived through it the first two time, don't want to go through it again! Maybe I'm just too old and it might look great on slim 20 year olds, what do pp are think?

The frills and ruffles everywhere are driving me insane. There's so much of it. And I know it's not in your link as it's last season, but the ties around the waist that look like sleeves - what's that about? Looks ridiculous!

BreatheDeep · 23/03/2017 19:36

Like this. WTF?

Not keen on these fashion trends for 2017!
TheChampagneGalop · 23/03/2017 19:37

The ruffle trend is stupid. No thanks.

Destinysdaughter · 23/03/2017 19:47

These are bloody hideous ( to me anyway!)

Haha the last one makes her look like a mutant with one small and one huge arm!

TheChampagneGalop · 23/03/2017 19:51

The blue "dress" that is.

JamesDelaneysHat · 23/03/2017 19:51

Bloody hell it's like 'Dynasty' on acid!

I can't wear ruffles or shoulder pads as I'm too broad shouldered (not that I would anyway!)

Gingernaut · 23/03/2017 19:54

Cropped wide leg trousers are everywhere.

Fussy, Victoriana blouses are being mixed with shredded, embroidered, skinny jeans.

Embroidery everywhere. Jackets, coats, trainers, handbags....

FetchezLaVache · 23/03/2017 19:54

Unwearable, the lot of it! It doesn't even look nice on the models. It reminds me why I haven't followed fashion since this lot was around the first time (puffball skirt, anyone?).

MrsGuyOfGisbo · 23/03/2017 20:11

Unwearable, the lot of it!
completely agree!

Floisme · 23/03/2017 20:20

I agree about ruffles - they remind me of poor Diana being led to the slaughter looking like a Bernard Matthews turkey.

But there are plenty of things I like, especially the masculine cut trousers. I'm really pleased to see them again and can't wait to see the back of skinnies/narrow legs.
Love cropped wide legs too although I'm a bit short to carry them off myself.
And clashy colours.
And the utility stuff.

Shoulder pads look weird and first and then your eye just adjusts.

RedMetamorphosis · 23/03/2017 20:26

Also a big fan of the cropped wide leg trousers - has anyone seen any decent high street ones?

I like a hint of the embroidery trend - Zara has nice shirts with a nod to it and Topshop have some gorgeous embroidered slipper shoes.

Not a fan of ruffles, high neck etc, boobs are too big.

YouWereRight · 23/03/2017 20:34

I made a RaRa skirt about a month ago. I thought I was tragic Blush

I like the big shoulders, ruffles and puffy sleeves.

I love all the embroidery around too, looking like a gypsy caravan is ace.

peaceloveandbiscuits · 23/03/2017 20:38

This 80s/90s revival has gone far enough. My line was crossed when ski pants came back in.

OCSockOrphanage · 23/03/2017 20:45

Just amused by the people looking like they got dressed in the dark in the clashing patterns. I love patterns and colour but, there is a limit.

ImperfectTents · 23/03/2017 20:51

I like it. Esp the trouser shapes

Destinysdaughter · 23/03/2017 21:45

The only thing I do like is straight legged trousers, don't suit skinnies. Is weird tho, seeing fashions you wore years ago coming around again!

WanderingTrolley1 · 23/03/2017 21:46

Ski pants?!

peaceloveandbiscuits · 23/03/2017 21:59

Yes, ski pants. My (much younger) cousin took me shopping with her and said she was looking for "some of those trousers with the stirrups" Shock

Maudlinmaud · 23/03/2017 22:01

I have very sadly thrown out dds copy of look magazine. I'm so cross with myself, you would all have had a great laugh/cry. There was something that I can't even put into words but I'm going to try. A pair of weird cut off wide leg jeans worn over skinnies of the same colour. Apparently it's set to be a hot trend. I think I'll give it a miss though.

JellyWitch · 23/03/2017 22:02

Oh goodness I loved ski pants when I was about 13. I had totally forgotten about them.

clumsyduck · 23/03/2017 22:03

Ruffles can fuck off
Ruffles on sleeves ruffles on the end of jeans. Tips that seem to have no sleeves and are essentially just on giant ruffle . For the love of god why ?!????
