Top lip waxing nightmare with pic

What do I do to fix this? I've been bothered by my moustache for years decided it was time to do something when DD asked me why I had hair on my lip. Now it looks horrible. I did it on the 8th, how long will it look like this and what did I do wrong?

I've only had mine done maybe 5 or 6 times and within a few day it goes all spotty and horrible. Never doing it again.

Highly recommend threading for upper lip hair removal

I'd probably exfoliate if it isn't actually tender. Slap on some savlon or similar before bed and use a concealer when going out until it's settled.
I also recommend threading. You can do it yourself, there are lots of good YouTube instructional videos.

Did you do it yourself? I did mine my self once, never again. Mine never does this when I go to a salon. Just leave it to heal, don't apply anything harsh on it, maybe a bit of hydrocortisone cream.

I had mine threaded once and the same happened. Slap on some sudocreme and it'll go down a bit. I've not done it again as I figure a bit of downy hair is both natural and a lot less obvious than a spot moustache.

@bustergonad NEVER PUT HYDROCORTISONE ON YOUR FACE! It thins your skin, makes it more prone to reactions after extended use and is way too harsh for the face x

You are very brave having done it yourself, I wouldnt be able to.
I have always had mine waxed at a salon and had a couple of spots come up after the first time but nothing since. I was advised to exfoliate and moisturise.

Got any aveeno? Plaster it in it as many times a day as you can manage. Pure essential oil of lavender could help but you should do a patch test first, especially because the skin on your face is so delicate (as youve discovered).

Deffo no hydrocortisone though-terrible for the face.

Sensitive skin hair removal cream works well but must patch test and not leave on too long or makes whole area bright red and a rash!

Slap some proper aloe vera on there

When I get my top lip waxed when I just cannot face threading I get bumps like your picture and in exactly one week after having had it done, they disappear.

It means I more often than not brace myself for the five extra minutes of excruciating pain threading provides, but I know I won't have a week's worth of bumps.

River when you have a reaction or eczema or bad burn it's what you need to get your skin back to normal. I see no problem with it if you get a low % of it, in fact my friend had severe sun burn on her face and the doctor prescribed it for her to use.

For future tash removal get yourself an epistick from Amazon. Quick and easy and very gentle.

I just use nair now.

I second the suggestion of an epistick for next time. I've used them for years and wouldn't go back to any other method of hair removal on my face now.

I think it's more brave going into a salon to have it done. I have social anxiety and that seems like a personal nightmare.

Might have to try the epistick.

I know everyone says it makes it worse but I just dry shave mine with a cheap disposable razor - use it one time, costs about 20p. If it's not sharp then I get the bumps.

I've shaved for nearly 20 years and it's still the same growth it was in my 20's when I had it professionally waxed. I do put soothing lotion on after shaving but it's just a small area. I do it once a week.

I was at home and used to have this happen. If I apply a bit of antiseptic cream after I've waxed though it seems to prevent it. Keep putting on the sudacreme and it should soon fade.

I do mine at home and only get this occasionally. I've been told it's because you need to ensure you remove the wax strip straight across, flat against the skin and do not pull the wax strip up as you pull if that makes sense!
