Top lip waxing nightmare with pic

What do I do to fix this? I've been bothered by my moustache for years decided it was time to do something when DD asked me why I had hair on my lip. Now it looks horrible. I did it on the 8th, how long will it look like this and what did I do wrong?

The epistick is a torture device. Even reading the word makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. Unimaginably horrendous, and I say that as a happy waxer.
