Thread 1 Thread 2 Thread 3 Thread 4 Thread 5

For those who are taking a peek and wondering whether previous threads are worth reading, we mostly discuss a bit of advanced skincare here with a perspective of seeking out the right ingredients for our particular skin needs. Distinguishing the acid toners from the actives whilst avoiding the truly unimpressive and harmful ingredients with a hope to achieve a bit of anti-ageing, alleviate irritation and sensitivities with some idle chat in between. Deviations on this thread are mostly my fault. Grin

If you're in need of some advice coming to grips with your skincare routine please don't hesitate to ask, we don't bite, only occasionally sting with a bit of Biologique Recherche P50 now and then Wink. Just make sure to state clearly what your concerns and needs are in as much detail as possible, skincare is highly individual and a random recommendation for a 'good' product will be completely different from one person to the next.

Make sure you've read the earlier threads (or at the very least the first one) so we're not being asked to answer previously raised questions. It takes a lot of time and effort to answer these queries and often the answers can be found in previous threads, but if you still have questions relating specifically to you, use the following form to make life easier on us. We generally answer one a day on a first come first served basis. Not everyone will have answers and sometimes we can't answer you at all. We're only a bunch of amateurs that can respond by suggesting what we would do in your place, for any severe conditions please seek out professional help.

Ahem, and finally a little note on spending. I'm well aware these threads cause many to reach for their wallets and spend with wild abandon. There can sometimes be a bit of a frenzy surrounding the excitement around a newly discovered product or on the back of great improvements when someone reports back. This is all great, it doesn't however, mean everything that's a sudden miracle for one will be it for you. Usually, it's a light bulb moment for connecting the right skincare ingredient with an individual experiencing a specific problem. Take your time to mull over decisions and question whether it's right for you too. Skincare is highly individual, it's a slow game that should cost mostly in patience, input, education, and perseverance. Please don't make it cost you financially needlessly.

dulcimena did you switch to a Non-hormonal coil? I am tempted as I too get the PMS symptoms but also, I didn't have a normal cycle before and this is causing intermittent bleeding.

mintmagnummm · 24/03/2017 06:32

What's RL??

Ollivander84 · 24/03/2017 06:41

Just a quick update, I received most of my TO order this morning and the 2% BHA is tiny! I hadn't noticed that it's 15ml rather than the standard 30. Just wanted to mentioned it in case it hadn't caught anyone else's attention. I also have the Vit C in the tube for the first time. It's so easy to measure quantity with the dropper so we'll see how that goes.

2babas I did, yes. The main issue I had was that the extra hormones were sending me and my skin loopy. Everyone's different though!

JDSTER · 24/03/2017 13:06

Hi Dulci. Just to say I always open Vit C tube upside down so you can control how much comes out

Dulcimena · 24/03/2017 13:09

Thanks JD will keep that in mind!

Glasstap · 24/03/2017 13:38

Ooh I'm anxious today so it'll be interesting to see what my skin does. It's been behaving very well lately. Seems to be balancing out nicely. So if I get any spots I can put it down to anxiety messing my system up.

Oops. Grin

The myth of the ten-step routine ;)

EnidButton · 24/03/2017 16:41

I have a spot!! Shock

😁I think it might be from the Neutral toner actually. My lower jaw doesn't like any products. No even moisturiser. I'll try it again just not there.

wiltingfast · 24/03/2017 17:26

Not sure if anyone's interested but the P50w has settled down well enough for me Smile. Still using damp cotton pad though.

Have started TO's alpha arbutin . Was a bit hesitant after watching some YT video where the girl seems to have bleached herself of all freckles using it but I've decided I'll know when enough is enough! Grin Once a day at the moment, and not on days where I use the P50w. That baby gets the night to itself.

How IS everyone, am waaay behind on thread, was in the wilds of Cork with ILs where there was just NO INTERNET.

Tsmummy08 · 24/03/2017 17:34

Dulci Yes I ordered the TO BHA 2% for occasional pre-menstrual use and the Glycolic acid which I REALLY like! It's supposedly like Pixi Glow but feels much more effective, nicely tingly... I've also got my Swedish P50 to try when feeling brave :)

I'm also using TO Squalane oil under my moisturiser - it's good but I'm still wishing my skin looked more plumptious.... the joys of ageing, I guess...
Has anyone else tried the Squalane?

Ollivander84 · 24/03/2017 17:38

I'm experiencing the joys of a&e Grin sent up here as I now have numbness and pins and needles. I nearly typed lameness then, too much time with vets

EnidButton · 24/03/2017 18:33

Ah bollocks Olli Sad Maybe a pinched nerve? Hope you're seen to soon. Flowers

Dulcimena · 24/03/2017 18:37

Which glycolic did you get, TS? I've got the 30% AHA one coming soon but I was looking at the 7% too. Good to know that it's getting a positive response either way! Have you used the P50W? I'd love to hear how you find the step up to regular P50 when you've had a chance to assess it.

I have not tried the squalene or the alpha arbutin or any of the more exotic sounding ones tbh. I know this has been done to death but it'd be really good to get a reminder of what everyone's tried so far and their verdict?

Ollivander84 · 24/03/2017 18:38

Been examined, got some red flag symptoms for cauda equina Sad

EnidButton · 24/03/2017 18:40

Oh no. What's the next step? Are they keeping you in? If it is that hopefully they've caught it early or before it develops. Flowers They'll look after you. X

EnidButton · 24/03/2017 18:42

TS There's Squalane in the toleriane fluide that a lot of us use. (Until supplies dry up) I'm getting on well with that as a light moisturiser so squalane is on my list of good ingredients to look for.

Ollivander84 · 24/03/2017 18:42

I'm waiting to see if they can track down my MRI from Wednesday or if they need to rescan me

botemp · 24/03/2017 19:09

Oh, no OlliHolli! Flowers

Dulci, maybe it's an idea to do a recap of our new stuff we've been trialling on a set date, like the first of each month? I got in an order from EPP yesterday with some new interesting products (the Bioderma Photoderm Nude Touch SPF and the Edenens Oil Cleanser) of which I'll have a pretty good opinion of how good they perform by then.

Ended up ordering another Vit C from TO in the end, Asos was doing a 20% off offer last night and amazingly it was in stock.

Stainless, I think Enid mentioned it at some point that her 10% Urea lotion mentioned not to use it on children due to potential liver damage (?). Would check on that, though would warn Urea is one of those ingredients targeted by the scaremongering crowd as evil or toxic or something in that vein.

In other news drumroll please, I've found an online Biologique Recherche retailer that will deliver throughout Europe! You have to set up an account (no questionnaire) to see the prices and you get a discount with your first order. Shipping is about €9-10 depending where you are and it does all appear to be in German : www.mussler-beautynet.de/

No MRI so waiting for a scan. Probably be about midnight Angry
I illegally escaped and fed the cat, packed a bag and came back Blush

wiltingfast · 24/03/2017 21:02

Oh olli Sad hope it gets sorted. How long is it going on?

Ollivander84 · 24/03/2017 21:06

The numbness started today so I came straight here. Obviously I have packed the essentials like makeup remover, acid pads... Wink
