Im stuck between these 2 jackets, both navy.

the hobbs one or the joules one

I'd probably be wearing it for the school run, shopping etc. I work from home so dont need anything really fancy just sick of my old coat which is nearly falling to bits. I Like the idea of the belt on the hobbs one to make it a bit more polished, but also like the hood on the joules one.

I know there are millions more important issues in the world, but i've been dithering over the 2 of them since 9am. I don't live near enough to either shop to just pop in and try them on.

I love the Hobbs one , and it won't date Smile

KikiDeliversCakes · 06/03/2017 10:36

I much prefer the Hobbs one, it's a nicer shape.

KoalaDownUnder · 06/03/2017 10:58

Another vote for the Hobbs one.

Loyly · 06/03/2017 11:01

The Hobbs one.

The head says Joules because of the hood but the heart says Hobbs

RebelandaStunner · 06/03/2017 11:26

Definitely the Hobbs one.

oldjacksscrote · 06/03/2017 11:53

Joules one, more practical for schoool run and it's still a lovely looking coat, you'll be praising the hood on our many rainy days.

user1471583707 · 06/03/2017 12:40

I say the Hobbs one too.
I have the joules one which whilst practical isn't very exciting and doesn't look that smart

toffeeboffin · 06/03/2017 12:42

Hobbs too.

It's lovely, I love trench coats!

BreatheDeep · 06/03/2017 12:45

I prefer the Hobbs one as a jacket but I think the Joules one will be more useful. And it's a very nice, as useful coats go.

This is exactly how I feel, and the reason Ii came on here. I feel although I love the Hobbs one i'd be constantly worrying about ds putting something on it, and I suppose for walks in the park where im in and out of forests looking for him I'd be scared of ruining it too Sad

Im sure I will grow to love the Joules one.

I would get both - one for smart and one for casual Grin

Mishmishmish · 06/03/2017 13:07

I'd get the Joules one mainly due to the school runs...but I'd get it in the knee length version as I hate getting soaking wet thighs when it pours.

Buddah101 · 06/03/2017 13:10

I have a slightly padded joules one already in the knee length version, but it has no hood. so My thinking was this time I would get one with a hood, then I got sidetracked by the hobbs one.

Im ordering the Joules one now and will mention to my mum & brother about the hobbs one as its my birthday in a few weeks... win win i hope!

The Joules one is really short so the hood is pointless if the rest of you gets soaking wet. Personally I think Seasalt has better, longer ones, with hoods for everyday use. I wear mine all the time. The Hobbs one is chic and smarter.

Mrs9C · 06/03/2017 13:33

If it's for forest treks I would get the Joules one, the Hobbs one is much too good for that. Hopefully a birthday pressie!

If you are never going to wear heels get the one with the hood.

Joulrd

Ponks · 06/03/2017 14:09

You can get 20% off the Hobbs coat today , if that helps! (Code SPRING20 or get from eg John Lewis)

blueskyinmarch · 06/03/2017 14:15

I have that Joules one. I wear it to walk the dog in the rain in the spring/summer. I love it but it is t a smart coat. The Hobbs trench is lovely but it says work/business to me. Really depends what you need the coat for. I have two trench coats which I used to wear to work but I never ever wear them now I no longer work.

UsedToBeAPaxmanFan · 06/03/2017 14:17

That Hobbs one is lovely. But perhaps too good for muddy walks and trips to the park. I'd definitely be tempted by it though.

Hoppinggreen · 06/03/2017 14:19

For the school run go with whichever one is warmest and most practical!!
This is from someone who's DC go to a school up a big hill in Yorkshire though so if it's a bit balmier where you are the HOBBS one might do
