Cloud, hope space from DH helps.

BTM, hope DS appt tomorrow goes well.

Crem, BD and Beachy - hoping good new jobs come along.

Great, if excessive w/e but downcast by DS disclosure about not good mocks news, compounded by feeling wrong choice probably made about subjects. Life all just too complicated.

Anyone notice bit in I think Guardian first person in family section where the author said her uncle (aged 70) had wife (aged 55) so v close in age - clearly written by someone barely edging 30.

Lalsy · 12/03/2017 23:15

Oh dear, Cloud. That is not right. Does he realise what he is doing do you think?

BTM, hope ds has a better week. You must all be exhausted, flood or no flood. Rudy and Beachy, hope your dss are doing OK at the moment? And Crem, how is dd doing now?

Really good luck this week job hunters. I think I need to do something a bit different, no idea what.

CTM very depressing. Was that baby cgi? Quiet weekend here, apart from some noisy fun with addle en famille Grin.

CointreauVersial · 13/03/2017 00:40

I'm here, Rudy - just about. It has taken me a week to catch up with you all.

Huge congrats to Herbs and MrsS on new jobs; I'm so pleased for you both. I'm not on FB, so I will just have to imagine which forrin parts MrsS is going to.

Eventful week here. First Aid course, new car, and.....DS passed his driving test!

hattymattie · 13/03/2017 06:10

Have got a bit behind well. Well done to DS on driving test CV and so sorry to hear about home difficulties Cloud. BTM online passport seems to work OK. Has similar panic a week ago.

bigTillyMint · 13/03/2017 07:03

CTM - was it just me who enjoyed the scene with the priest in his vest?Grin What does cgi mean? Last one of the series - not another till next Christmas (DS was rejoicing!)

Well done to CV's DS - now you have a chauffeur!

Addle, sorry to hear your DS is downcast - hopefully it's saveable?

Hatty, glad to hear the online passport thing is easy!

Blackduck · 13/03/2017 07:23

Fab night - fab band, but bed at 12.30 and up at 6.00 is not something I find easy at my age

Auriga · 13/03/2017 07:46

BTM, all the best for appointment today, hope It helps DS to regroup.

Herbs & MrsS, many congratulations Flowers on new jobs, wonderful to hear of successes.

Cloud, that sounds terrible, not being able to enjoy some peaceful relaxation in your own home. Whatever you decide, you'll have the squad behind you.

IDismyname · 13/03/2017 07:53

Yup. Going to get ducks in a row. DHs taxi not until mid morning, so he's still in bed.

Thank you for your sympathetic Crepey comments.

I'm going to head off to my dance class and leave him to it.

I don't think he has any idea how I feel, despite trying to explain. Dear friend who recommended the lawyer to me said it was a very empowering experience to find out just where one stood in terms of finances etc. It may be information that I never use. But it's worth a trip.

On a much lighter note, did anyone see the fab picture in Sat Telegraph of the seven nuns at Seven Sisters tube station? I think the shot was cropped (there were 8 apparently) but it so made me smile. I'm going to try and get a print.

Being an ex convent girl, I find Father Ted and shots like that so very funny.

And I NEED funny at the moment.

Montypulciano · 13/03/2017 08:12

Molly, I am so glad to hear that you have a bit of relief. Long may it continue. Thinking of you and sending love xxx

Cloud, how are you feeling this morning? Hope you got some sleep. I think knowing where you stand financially, even if you never take it further, helps you see things more clearly. You have had a lot on your plate lately with your poor dad, supporting Ds, looking after your friend and being there for your mum that you need to be very gentle on yourself. Btw, what was the upshot with the house sitter? Thinking of you xxx

Auriga, will be in touch re st Matthew and will come if I can. Love Bach.

Btm, hope today's appointment is productive. Addle, sorry your Ds is disappointed. What does the school say?

Been up half the night with Dd2 and Brian. She is now asleep and I am tidying the house. Gosh, i am shattered. Is it Easter holidays yet ?

Cremolafoam · 13/03/2017 10:40
Smile

Lalsy , saw these trews in H&M and thought of you. Thought I'd get a pair for goat herding in.
outdoor trousers

Spring is sprung, the grass is riz, I wonder where those Crepeys is?
Lalsy · 13/03/2017 11:15

Crem Grin. Love the pic. I have trousers very similar to those. Mine are marvellous as dry very quickly, very light.

Molly, glad things more serene for you, long may it last.

BTM, I thought the baby looked computer generated. Odd anyway. Online passport really easy if you get the name right.

Cloud yes and talking about the reality may help clarify your feelings too, like writing things down does....

hattymattie · 13/03/2017 11:36

BTM - yes to sexy priest. The telly has a few of those what with him and James Norton. DH also very relieved it was the last one.

Love the 7 sisters at Seven Sisters and like the outdoor trousers in khaki.

Our heating saga continues. Tomorrow they are bringing a machine which detects humidity under the floor. I am trying not to get stressed about it. I dont mind so much the kitchen tiles being broken as we've been meaning to redo it for about ten years. I will be upset of it's under the living room parquet though.

Having a day a school where nothing works. The new library computer system, the email etc.

Cremolafoam · 13/03/2017 11:45

Was hoping for a peaceful day, but they are digging up the laneway to put in ramps. Drills and workers shouting. Joy.

MrsWobble3 · 13/03/2017 13:17

I am also having one of those days where nothing goes right - nothing disastrous is happening but everything is slightly out of sorts. I'd quite like to call it all off and start again tomorrow.

Oh dear, doesn't sound like a marvellous Monday in Crepeville.

I have for done the sensible thing and not run on my still-twingeing knee. Went for a late-morning swim instead (having hit the desk before 8am) and am now eating a vegan stirfry for lunch Halo

However I have spotted we have chicken lurking in the fridge so may turn that into a Keralan curry later. It is the 'Keralan chicken stew' in our shared recipes, v easy and nice for people who think they don't like curry either.Smile

CointreauVersial · 13/03/2017 13:32

Talking of "funnies" I'm sure you've all seen that clip of the chap being interviewed live on BBC while his toddler and baby gatecrash. It made me cry with laughter. I told DH he has nothing to moan about if the worst he gets is teenage noise in the background while he's on a conference call.

Cremolafoam · 13/03/2017 14:39

Yes, cv that was really funny.
Rudy, much damage?

wordassociationfootball · 13/03/2017 15:11

Clip HILARIOUS. I enjoyed doing impressions of Yellow Jumper Girl and Terrified Nanny for my friend

Aw Rudy, poor ickle van driver Angry

Squad, my mum has not (yet) woken up from her op at 5pm on Saturday.... nearly 48 hours. The route from here is murky, but what Mum would want is to slip away so please will you send your hopes for lovely Sheila , my good mum, that she gets that wish at some point sooner than later.

Had words (and tears) about inadequate pain relief an hour ago but she seems more comfortable now.

In happier news, on the train I had pea and ham soup with spinach wilted into it while listening to Nick Drake. Simple bliss.

motherinferior · 13/03/2017 15:14

Oh Sheila. Go well, lovely lady.

bigTillyMint · 13/03/2017 15:47

WAF, sending peaceful vibes for your mum. My mum would like to just go now (has wanted to for a year now) but it's just not going to happen like that for her - hope it can for yours Flowers

hattymattie · 13/03/2017 16:19

Oh WAF - that puts Monday moaning in perspective. Peace and comfort to your lovely Mum and best wishes and strength to you. xxx

Mrs S - bon courage for the parent evening.

MI - brilliant idea - was wondering what to do with left over chicken. curry it is. That'll cheer me up.

CV - there is a thread on MN criticising that video clip as the mother was dragging the child by the arm and was obviously terrified of the cold and distant man. I sometimes wonder if any of these people have actually experienced real family life at all. He came across as amused but embarrassed and she came across as mortified. I'm sure I've dragged my children on occasion - they seem unscarred.

Rosebag · 13/03/2017 16:34

WAF Have PM'd you. xxx

MrsSchadenfreude · 13/03/2017 16:35

WAF - vibes of comfort, peace and an easy journey to your Mum. xx

CV - I loved that clip. If the child had been so scared of her father, she wouldn't have danced into the room like she did. Anyone else think he didn't get up because he wasn't wearing trousers, just a jacket and tie? I interviewed someone for a job once - I was at home on the phone in London and the other two interviewers were in Casablanca and Nouakchott (where?), and the candidates were in Edinburgh, Delhi and somewhere else. I did the interview in my pyjamas, as it was early. One of the interviewers also confessed during the wash up session that he was also similarly clad.

Parent teacher consultations were mixed. She could do really well or crash and burn. And she still has a number of graded assessments outstanding...

magimedi · 13/03/2017 16:37

WAF - I hope she slips away soon.

I loved that video - so funny & so like family life. I've dragged DS before now & he seems to have survived. Grin
