I want zip off or roll up light trousers, and here's the tough bit with an elastic waist not a fitted waist.

The nearest I've found are the Boden zip off cargo pants, which may have to do.

Size wise he's long and skinny so it's XS men's or age 14 boy I need and they all seem to stop at 12 years.

So if anyone's bored or just a style fucking genuis please help me think of places to look (done Primark, H&M, Next, Tk Max, John Lewis, M&Co, all he usual high st suspects, no joy)

Pleeeeeease help meeeeeeeee.

i have some like that from monsoon but they're womens Grin

so are you looking for a pair for a 14 year old?

Minniemagoo · 04/03/2017 21:51

Hiking store, not sure which ones are near you.

BigGreenOlives · 04/03/2017 21:51

Do Cotswold Outdoor or Millets sell them? They are good for hiking etc. Patagonia?

HoneyDragon · 04/03/2017 21:57

All the hiking ones have structured waists.

I'm going to start looking at women's, he wears girls school trousers (preference, I bought them by accident and he pronounced them the most comfortable trousers ever and refused to take them off) and nicks my jeans so it's not really an issue.

See that's ideal apart from the waist band. They are non negotiable and apparently everything that is wrong with world.

it may be a bit early in the season for that type of short but i bet they will be everywhere soon?

EduCated · 04/03/2017 22:02

These?

EduCated · 04/03/2017 22:02

When you say light, do you mean weight wise or fabric colour?

bionicant · 04/03/2017 22:03

\link{http://uk.monsoon.co.uk/view/product/uk_catalog/mon_1,mon_1.8/2423896108\these are the ones (similar) that i have from monsson}

PickAChew · 04/03/2017 22:05

The elasticated waist is, as ever the toughie, here (dreading DS1 growing out of boy sizes).

Have found some on Amazon in men's large, so maybe try putting your search terms in there to see what comes up

HoneyDragon · 04/03/2017 22:06

Weight wise, I'm flying long haul and they're ideal but as a pp said I'm looking st the wrong time in the season I think.

These seem to fit the bill.

DrudgeJedd · 04/03/2017 22:11

Maybe try climbing/bouldering trousers like these? Moon, Patagonia etc, not cheap but obviously very hardwearing

HoneyDragon · 04/03/2017 22:15

Drudge I'm not letting him see those, he'd want them regardless Grin

purplepaisley · 04/03/2017 22:15

These?

www.decathlon.co.uk/hike-900-boys-modulpant-id_8383262.html

Not elasticated but have "adjustable waist" - looks like the have the elastic and buttons inside.

EduCated · 04/03/2017 22:17

Also, 3/4 length chinos

Or full length

PickAChew · 04/03/2017 22:17

You might find that your choice increases as places launch their summer ranges (April then!)

DrudgeJedd · 04/03/2017 22:17

We're all climbers in this house Honey we take our pants seriously Grin

HoneyDragon · 04/03/2017 22:20

Nope the ones at H&M that go cropped are just the ticket ....hooray.

Ds spends a lot of time messing around in labs he goes for stuff like climbing trousers as they tend to cope better.

OP posts:
kelper · 04/03/2017 22:25

I want those ones Drudge sulks at lack of pennies for fab trousers
