Wanted warmth, as feeling dowdy and altogether "grey".

It's horrible when you look forward to something to lift you up and you come out feeling a bit flat.

Definetly go back, it's nothing like you have asked for and they should try and rectify it.

I do think the colour looks nice though, and you look fantastic for early 50's

Please go back and get the hair you want, and if it's terribly dry get some keratesse (might be spelt wrong) conditioner, slap it on and shove it under a shower cap for a couple of hours did wonders for my hair after a bad dye job a little while ago.

Good luck! And I'm very tempted to steal the first picture and see if I can get similar on my 39 year old head Grin

SingaSong12 · 17/02/2017 21:40

You said the manager used to fit our hair. You might to go back immediately but if she would be around on Sunday or Monday. She will know that you are long term client and don't just complain for nothing. You could also then get her opinion on what you can do.

Eliza22 · 17/02/2017 21:42

GreyStars....do it, and then post a pic! 😊 I think it's so lovely and shiney/warm. The thing is, the colour lady said "yep, we can do that". She had the photo to look at so no ambiguity at all.

My hair is really dry, I put loriel ( sp?) Extraordinary oil on it, and it really take away the parched look, and bring back shine.
You have great bone structure BTW!

ImNotChangingMyUsernameAgain · 17/02/2017 21:48

This treatment is amazing; olaplex.com

GreyStars · 17/02/2017 21:51

I am very tempted indeed!

I also have had some problems with my health of late and am desperate for a pick me up, I've actually been wanting to do something with my hair for ages and saw that picture and it's just what I've been looking for!

let's hope I don't end up with ginger stripes or something Grin

Eliza22 · 17/02/2017 21:58

BipBipp.... thanks for the Revlon link. Cannot find any stockists. Only available on EBay/Amazon. Is it really good? I guess I'd go for Deep Chestnut? Don't want anything on a white/gold blonde spectrum.

ImNotChanging... Olaplex.com looks amazing. First thing though, is to go back. I don't see how the girls can not agree with me that it barely resembles what I asked for. If she couldn't do it, she really ought to have said and that would've be fine.

The Olaplex gets mixed with colour in the salon and treats it as it colours. Then there is a take home version for maintenance in between colours.

Hope you get it fixed.

Eliza22 · 17/02/2017 22:07

Thanks all 😊

The pic you showed looks like baleyage ( not sure how you spell it !) - did she do baleyage? Your hair looked really lovely before you got it done, I'd go back

ShoutOutToMyEx · 17/02/2017 22:58

Try the Philip Kingsley Elasticizer conditioner to help with dryness. My hair was literally snapping off after a dodgy bleach job and it returned it to pretty much normal.

Astro55 · 17/02/2017 23:02

I look like I've been dug up!

That's really funny! I'm planning on using it!

Eliza22 · 17/02/2017 23:49

Astro... you're welcome! Wink

Get some Fudge Dynamite. It's a treatment, it really works.

TitaniasCloset · 18/02/2017 03:23

Go back, complain, she wrecked your lovely hair.

Or go somewhere else and get olaplex treatments, also Morrocan hair oil, ( it has a teal label on a brown glass bottle) will give you some shine again. They should give you your money back.

Eliza22 · 18/02/2017 10:33

Titania that's WITH Moroccan Oil on, I shit you not. I'm going back today to register my complaint.

tethersend · 18/02/2017 11:13

I second olaplex- it will literally fix your hair.

I'd be getting my money back and going somewhere else to get it done though.

SequinsOnEverything · 18/02/2017 12:58

Your hair looked better before and is nothing like you asked for. Definitely go back.

PamDooveOrangeJoof · 18/02/2017 13:01

Deffo go back. I have always gone back to get hair rectified (by someone else that works there) if they muck it up. And then never go to that salon again!
Also, your hair looked lovely before. Don't put yourself down!

Ratbagcatbag · 18/02/2017 13:10

I once went back when my then usual salon did my usual red streak but I came out ginger after first wash. They did fix it but I ended up finding a new salon after cancelling my wedding hair booking with less than a week to go because she'd accidentally booked a more profitable party over me. It's at the bottom of my street too. I'm still bitter 8 years on!!

Anyway hope they are fixing it for you right now.

user1477282676 · 18/02/2017 13:12

Ooh you don't look 54 OP! I thought you were more my age...I'm 44.

MadisonAvenue · 18/02/2017 13:13

Hope they've managed to rectify it! The pic you took along is lovely and it clearly shows what you wanted - how could she fail to follow that?

Btw, you really do look younger than your age!

TSSDNCOP · 18/02/2017 14:50

No way do you look 54, but I'd be taking that Barnet back and raising a compliant. What you asked for wasn't complicated, what you got wasn't good.

3luckystars · 18/02/2017 14:57

100% go back. They would prefer the chance to fix it rather than lose you (and anyone you tell) as a customer.
Go back, you have both to lose at all.

It happened me recently and I was very upset, I started a thread here. I went back to a different salon, the same company, and they gave me loads of conditioner and treatments and asked me to come back in a month and they would fix it for me. They did and charged me very little for it, if I had gone back to the same salon I'm sure they would have fixed it for free but I was too worried about trusting them again!

Go back, give them a chance to put it right.

burnishedsilver · 18/02/2017 15:15

Try Philip Kingsley Elasticiser.
The colour is nice but I see what you mean about the dryness.
