No!!

Why are M&S still peddling incorrect advice??

This Bra Fit Event is going to get even more women in incorrectly fitting bras...

I would like them to explain why. Just WHY??

dementedpixie · 17/02/2017 23:20

28DD

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 17/02/2017 23:32

They've put me up a back size and down a cup size despite me saying that the one I'm wearing fits too.

I don't really understand the logic in that. If the one I'm wearing fits properly then that's the correct size.

TheOnlyColditz · 17/02/2017 23:37

my 38 f bra fits perfectly, it's advised me into a 40e. Annoying.

Inarightpickleandchutney · 17/02/2017 23:38

I've got a 30d and a 28dd that both work... How do you get to a 32c from that??!! Nuts.

Iamastonished · 17/02/2017 23:40

I have just sent a ranty email to them about their so called bra fitting service.

callipygiana · 18/02/2017 06:52

If you once thought you were a 34b like I did, you're actually more likely to be a 28e or 30dd. They don't stock much in those sizes, so they'd rather sell you something in 34b.

KatharinaRosalie · 18/02/2017 07:31

Iamastonished good luck - many people have. The reply is invariably a condescending 'Please go away, we are the experts. If you had any issues, those were an isolated incident'

They really just don't want to know.

Fluffycloudland77 · 18/02/2017 07:56

It's because they only want to sell a limited range.

NapoleonsNose · 18/02/2017 11:50

I've recently been fitted in an independent shop and came away with a perfectly fitting bra in a 36H. Just did the online thingy and despite saying my bra fits perfectly, it still insisted that I should be a 38GG. Why? How do they continue to get it so wrong?

Kleptronic · 18/02/2017 11:59

Told me to go up a back size and down a cup too. How can I be a 36 when I measure 34.5? How? It'd swim on me.

leedy · 18/02/2017 12:16

I wonder if you put in that your underbust measurement was two inches smaller than it actually is, would they tell you you were wearing the right size? They seem fixated on "a proper fitting band is two inches bigger than your measurement": do they think (also from their "advice" page) that everyone is wearing bras with a too-small band??? I would have thought quite the opposite.

KatharinaRosalie · 18/02/2017 13:17

they have a fitting video on their site, where some kind of senior bra fitting expert measures the model and states: So, her underbust measures 32, so she needs a 36 bra..

WhiskyChick · 18/02/2017 13:28

Worst fitting I ever had was years ago in Markies. Woman was very put off when I said everything she suggested fit badly. Some of the bras were also truly old wifey and I was in my mid 20's at the time. I guess they didn't have pretty ones in my size.

P1nkP0ppy · 18/02/2017 13:30

It really makes me furious that they're still giving wrong advice - I was told I was 40D. I was remeasured in Debenhams as 36 F and I have two really nice bras that make a world of difference to how I look.
When I said to the M&S fitter that I didn't think the bra fitted she told me I needed a minimiser bra to ' flatten you a bit'.
Great ☹️

Tatlerer · 18/02/2017 13:38

Well I said I'd report back on my Bravissimo bra fitting today...have been taken out of my atrociously fitting 32B and am now in a perfect 28DD! Means I'm destined for a life of having to buy expensive bras though...Confused

Iamastonished · 18/02/2017 13:57

I sent them a link to the Bra Guru's Better Bra Campaign as well. I think we need to keep bombarding them with it until they see sense.

PollyPerky · 18/02/2017 13:58

I used to wear a 34A and after being spotted browsing by a sales asst in a small lingerie shop who said there was no way I was a 34, I now buy a 30D/ 30DD in M&S bras. My under bust measures 28 but 30s are more comfortable.

PollyPerky · 18/02/2017 14:02

Yes M&S online sizing says I am a 32C. I am not. I am a 30D or 30DD depending on style. This is putting back measurement 28 into their guide and saying I wear a 30D cup.

ChoccyJules · 18/02/2017 14:08

Tatlerer, glad you got sorted at Bravissimo. Every bra I buy from there is £30 so I don't find that too pricey, they seem to last fairly well.

Tatlerer · 18/02/2017 14:17

Thanks choccy. I'm just being a tight-wad- I normally wait until the M&S sale and stock up. Never again!!

measles64 · 18/02/2017 14:20

M&S have lost the plot bra fitting wise.

KingJoffreysRestingCuntface · 18/02/2017 14:26

Last time I looked at M&S they stocked one bra in my size (and it was fucking hideous).

I'm a 36G, hardly a freakish or outlandish size.

Can only imagine the red marks and backache resulting in whatever mad size they stuck me in.

MountainDweller · 18/02/2017 15:47

Post intervention I'm wearing a well fitting Curvy Kate in a 42E.

Under bust is 42, M&S online fitter says 44D. So even with bigger back sizes they add the 2 inches to the band and drop the cup size.

I was wearing 42 Bs and Cs from M&S for years and falling out of them... they never suggested going bigger in the cup when the wires didn't sit flat Sad

teenmumandsowhat · 18/02/2017 15:56

For nearly 3 years I wore a 42C from m&s it really didn't fit well at all, I went into Debenhams recently and it turns out I'm actually around a 38FF! How can m&s seriously get th size that wrong?!
