Would you regard this as bridal?

I'm getting married - eek!! I'm nearly 44 and don't suit white or very light colours, however red is a good colour for me. This dress suits my budget but could I get away with it as the bride?

I love it and the creamy underskirt means it would match cream flowers etc beautifully

Summerisdone · 13/02/2017 21:56

I think it's beautiful and yes I'd say it could pass as bridal

KanyesVest · 13/02/2017 21:57

Gorgeous. I wore a red wedding dress, I loved it.

Juveniledelinquent · 13/02/2017 21:59

It's beautiful and perfect for a bride.

TondelayaDellaVentamiglia · 13/02/2017 22:03

i absolutely frikken love that!

I hope you get it altered to suit OP...and that you have the best day!

YellowCrocus · 13/02/2017 22:05

I agree, whatever you choose to wear as the bride is 'bridal'. So long as you feel special - go for it. It's a beautiful dress. Congratulations!

Chinnygirl · 13/02/2017 22:11

Wear whatever suits you. If a big white puffy ballgown dress doesn't suit you then please do not wear it. You don't have to be a copycat bride. Be your original self and you will look lovely.

ophiotaurus · 13/02/2017 22:12

I love it! Definitely bridal.

mydietstartsmonday · 13/02/2017 22:12

Looks lovely and you will look lovely.

LadyOfTheCanyon · 13/02/2017 22:18

I plan to wear red when I get married and I think yours is a beautiful dress. Fuck 'em all if they don't like it. "you won't necessarily be identifiable as the bride" ? By who? All the people who you don't know who you invited to your wedding? Hmm

AtSea1979 · 13/02/2017 22:23

It's beautiful but make sure no one else has bought it and is wearing it to your wedding!

Nongoddess · 13/02/2017 22:28

I think it's lovely! Are you going with it now you've seen it pinned up? Hope so, it looks super.

jarviscockatiel · 13/02/2017 22:28

That would be fun AtSea!! I feel fairly safe that I'd be the only one. We're not planning a big 'do' and from my knowledge of the guests I don't think it would be their style. Smile

I think it's beautiful.

Wolfiefan · 13/02/2017 22:36

It's beautiful. I hope it looks good once pinned. It's your wedding. Wear what you love. "Bridal" be damned.
Gorgeous.

olympicsrock · 13/02/2017 22:38

Stunning and very bridal in style. Brilliant choice!

bummymummy77 · 13/02/2017 22:38

It's lovely. Smile

ScarlettFreestone · 13/02/2017 22:41

I think it's lovely.

As Narky says red is a traditional burial colour in lots of countries.

Astro55 · 13/02/2017 22:43

Whoops!!!

NarkyMcDinkyChops · 13/02/2017 22:45

You will not be so readily identifiable as 'the bride

Even if the people who she invites don't know her (!), she'll be the one up the front saying I do. I'd say that is readily identifiable, no matter what she wears, no?

PassiveAgressiveQueen · 13/02/2017 22:47

At that price yes

PastysPrincess · 13/02/2017 22:56

If you love it and it makes you happy then wear it.

I think it's gorgeous

Shockers · 14/02/2017 08:51

Isn't it also a traditional bridal colour in other countries?

And shrouds are usually white, so that's a load of daftness too!

It's lovely!

Shockers · 14/02/2017 08:53

As for being unidentifiable as the bride... if the guests don't know who the bride is, why are they at your wedding?!

Girlsworld92 · 14/02/2017 08:53

Have you looked on the Gina Bacconi website? They have a blue version too or might have the red in your size. I've been scouring that website recently for my mum! It's a stunning dress.
