Moisturiser that won't freak my skin out?!

Please help?

I have developed the lovely adult acne ever since I had my dd (3years ago) which still hasn't sodded off. I have very sensitive skin which is now quite oily (yet dehydrated) and so sore most of the time, I can't find a moisturiser that doesn't freak everything out my face is consistently irritated, any suggestions people? I have been eying up the nip+fab glycerine serum, I just can't put up with my face being so sore all the time

Anyone?

I had horribly sensitive and dry skin a while ago (also a little spot prone...) and I started using Clinique moisture surge. Which was amazing, and I use it daily now. It's oil free so doesn't make me break out either.

Simple range.

Cetaphil or avene.

I use cetaphil at night on top of azeliac cream (Gp prescribed) and avene anti redness moisturiser during the day

The daywear moisturiser from Estée Lauder suits mine really well (it sounds similar to yours-I'm allergic to quite a few others I've tried). I got a free sample a few years ago and haven't used anything else since.

The simple range burns my skin so unable to use that, I have heard great things about the Clinique moisture surge, just don't want to take the huge price tag if it isn't going to work, don't know if you can get samples from the counters?

I have used the scene products when my skin was at its worst with the a be, and whilst it helped clear up a lot of it, it was so drying on my skin so reluctant to go back to that. Problem is I have tried so many now and haven't found the one that fits 😰

La Roche Posay products, they completely transformed my skin from spotty, oily and blotchy to clear and reasonably good. I suffered for YEARS with my skin, I tried loads of different things and was resigned to having hormonal big blind spots on my chin most of every month. I now use Rosaliac micellar gel cleanser, Effaclar astringent lotion to tone followed by Effaclar Duo +moisturiser. I them apply Vichy Aqualia Thermal light moisturiser to finish as the Effaclar Duo isn't moisturising enough. I know it's the LRP stuff because a couple of months ago I ran out of the cleanser and used Simple cleanser , within 2 days I started to develop a few spots so it went in the bin and I headed to Boots. Honestly, give it a go. I find anything within the Effaclar and Rosaliac range is fine and suits my skin.

Have not seen the Estée Lauder, will have a look into that, thanks! Le Roche pose is another one I have looked into, maybe I will give that a go next. Sorry for the typos, my phone is not my friend today

LRP gets a lot of love on here smudged. I think I'm the only person who it didn't suit! It's also very reasonably priced.

If you time it right you can get a goody bag from Estée Lauder. I've tried alternatives but nothing works as well for me.

Thanks purple, I have bought so many different things it's hurting my purse now so if I can get a sample before trying to make sure, I will have to keep my eyes peeled for good deals! I keep reading about how amazing facial oils are also, but haven't quite got up the nerve to try yet, apparently oil combats oil very well! I have seen lrp around a lot, I think I never tried it as I thought it would be quite like avene which was fine but not moisturising at all, I may give it a go if nothing else seems better

Steamcream imo is very soothing.

Stay away from anything fragranced. Have you looked into The Ordinary? The retinoid is great for breakouts and the hyloronic a for dryness, I use one or the other under dermalogica skin smoothing cream. Skin has never been better!

Frizz, I have not heard of ordinary? Can you buy it in boots? I will have to look into that. We always have aveeno in the house for my dd and I use it when my skin is really freaking it and while it does calm my skin down using it everyday doesn't seem to help, I still wake up with a new spot(second head) every day at the moment I have swollen sore eyes as something I have put on my face I am assuming it has not liked at all. I know it's very much trial and error with skin care but I have tried so many things and am yet to find anything that is good for my skin.

I use coconut oil, I just put it on at night, sleep with it on and then wash my face with water in the morning and apply a little more

I have dry but oily skin and I much prefer not to have flakes and then use a Clinique pore serum thing that dries out the pores. I used to have such flaky nose, under eyes, aeound eyebrows but this has really sorted me out

V cheap and organic too

Be very careful with coconut oil-it can bring people out in awful spots. I had the worst breakout since I was a teen.

The problem is it's very comedogenic. There's a scale from zero to five, zer means no spots, five means certain spots. Coconut oil seems to mainly score four.

My skin sounds similar. It can get to a point where it just hurts. I found LRP great but the cleansers too drying. I use the superdrug hot cloth cleanser which I love. If you can find a shop that sells LRP, they do samples. I've just changed to the ordinary as I wanted to add a retinol and azelaic acid. I'm still unsure how I feel about it. I really didn't like the hydrochloric. It trait blocked my pores.

I love the neutogena oil free visible skin moisturiser. My oily dehydrated skin loves it.

I love The Ordinary 2% retinoid serum, and niacinamide serum. They seem to keep my acne prone, hormonal, oily, yet dehydrated skin from breaking out. They also seem to calm the redness from my rosacea, and soothe my skin.
As does nip and fab extreme glycolic pads. Smooth and soothe the skin, especially when irritated.

I also like Cosrx BHA blackhead power liquid as well, and use this daily.
Using these actives seems to smooth my skin, and keep it softened, so I don't need to pile on heavy thick creams. These seem to break me out, and irritate.

I adore hyaluronic acid serums, and swap between The Ordinary, and Hada labo premium hyaluronic lotion.
Then, I apply my beloved Mizon snail recovery gel on top. I adore all these products, my skin feels moist and pampered, and no stinging or redness when I apply, which is a miracle.

Kate Somerville Goat's Milk moisturiser cured my forehead last winter (it was completely parched crusty and sore because of the heating and I had an allergic reaction to a new cleanser). It isn't cheap but maybe you could get a sample? It fixed my head in a matter of days. It's just a moisturiser by the way nothing more.

Just to add, I don't know if it will help with the acne but I found it really soothing for sore skin and it didn't give me any bad reactions either- it's very gentle.

Ok theres a few different names there I haven't heard of so will see if I can get hold of some samples for those! Beautifully, I keep eying up the nip fab glycolic pads, I haven't purchased yet as thought they may be too strong for my skin - have you tried the glycolic serum?
