Redid mine last night, now Mavala South Beach Pink and Mavala Tokyo

Field Fox Shellac with a hint of glitter. Am very lucky that my niece has trained in Shellac so have lovely nails most of the time, just the rest of me that's a state!

Some silver my sister wanted to try but she had shellac on haha

Might redo them later when i have time to stop for a min

Mine are navy blue. I have them done every week in a local nail bar and it's £5 a go, just for polish. I take off myself. They look nice all week and then the index fingers start to chip on days 6/7. If I do my own they're chipped by day 2/3.

It's fab, I can't stand gel as it takes too long, costs too much, only really looks nice for a fortnight and takes forever to get off.

Mine are a good classic nails Inc red. I've started getting gel manicures from there recently and must say it lasts much longer than the old shellac (and equivalent )ones I used to get

Mine are Barry M - one of the nude shades but the writing has worn off so don't know which one.

I'll get a pic later. Darkish cool red on short squoval shaped nails. Essie Forever Yummy. It's a nice 'proper' red without being too bright.

Really dark navy with a gold glitter ring finger.

I get mine done every few weeks & never have a problem with chipping.

Thinking I'll go with a nude next time.

I used to get my nails done (shellac/gel) for years, until I decided to buy the kit and do it myself. I love it. I do them every 2 wks and have a load of colours now. Would recommend to anyone thinking about it.

@FishlessCake I just got bits off amazon. My 12w lamp is led (you spicy is the make) then bought the prep and wipe, lint free pads, orange wood sticks, nail buffers separately. A good cuticle pusher is a must.
I have a gelish bonding agent, opi base coat and top coat (off eBay) at the moment and a mixture of brands for the colours from amazon mostly, from cheaper bluesky and elite99 to the moderately priced red carpet, Ibd and nyk1. All go on and stay on really well, no chips, but the slightly more expensive ones come off easier!

Come off as in when you want them to i meant!

Bright red shellac. I have it done every 2 1/2 weeks and love it :)

Those of you who do your own, what top coat do you recommend?

I've been using Nails Inc Albert top coat which is very good but wondered if there's a better one? I'm fairly new to doing my own nails. Used to get them done but taught myself how to do my own by watching YT tutorials so I can do them myself now. Having fun buying polish.

Enid I use Seche Vite and swear by it, for me its a miracle product.

Seche vite is an amazing topcoat, but to all the other SV users, do you find it gets too gloopy to use halfway down? I always ended up throwing mine away, such a waste. Nails Inc caviar top coat is good like SV
