What's your beauty resolution for 2017? Look groomed/expensive? Princessing?

Hello,

I have 4 stone to lose (see another thread!)

But my resolution for 2017 is to put into practice the advice on the princessing/look groomed/look expensive type threads.

In particular:
Keep up with skincare regime
Wear make up, perfume
Style hair instead of just leaving it to dry and then ponytail
Stick to natural fabrics in neutral shades with just a "pop" (hate that word!) of colour
Get enough sleep
Iron clothes and clean shoes!
Neutral/light pink nail polish

What are you aiming for in 2017?

I lost 1 1/2 st in 2016 and need to loose another 1 1/2 this year.

I am going to get help for my roseaca and find a skincare regime that my skin can cope with

I am going to buy a lumea and use it!

Drink water and eliminate sugar

I already keep on top of hair/nails/makeup and clothes and feel much better for it.

So far,

Hair cut & appointment booked for colour next week.Bought a treatment at the hairdressers today & am going to ditch the GHD. It is literally burning the ends of my hair.

Made an appointment for shellac tomorrow.

Eyebrows need to be threaded & tinted next week.

Going to use a body scrub tomorrow and use nip & fab moisturiser which is really good.

Next week will be dedicated to diet & water. Thinking of Hayley Pomreys, Fast Metabolism Diet. Did it before and it worked brilliantly.

Also need to start walking but that's a week or two away at this stage.

How's everyone else doing ?

Still no booze partook of since NYE but I've got a family birthday party on Friday so I'll have a couple I suppose. Oh the suffering!

I was planning on giving up sugar (sweets, biscuits and general sugar-loaded shit) next month but I've got to say I'm sick of looking at all the leftover festive cake and biscuits so I'll give them up this month too.

I did a face mask a couple of days ago - 1st time in years. What a difference it made! So more of them I think.

Endyderm session No. 3 in a couple of weeks so I'll ask about fillers then and see when I can get them.

Oh and I've got 10lb to lose - the cutting out sugar and alcohol should take care of that in a couple of months (can't abide diets)!

Great post Honeypot1 and well done. Thank you for sharing!

Good on ya Honeypot, great post 😀

Good luck everyone ( Im including myself here) with the 2017 goals. I'd like to lose 3 stone....realistically 1.5 stone would be good too.
Definitely another goal will be to get an actual hair style and try maintain it (and lay of the ghds)

What a great post honeypot1. I feel inspired Smile

Great post Honeypot! Everything you say about exercising to feel good mentally as well as physically really resonates with me. When I manage to go 3 times a week regularly, everything else (skincare, diet, style etc) all falls into place.

Honeypot1 · 06/01/2017 20:49

LOL, I said I wouldn't come back but having a nightmare with Uggs so have come online to post for advice and saw all your lovely comments! Thanks! I really want to shout from the rooftops to anyone who'll listen; it's true what they say, life does get easier! There were some dark times where I think positive stories may have helped me, so I feel almost obliged to overshare share.

So beauty resolutions aside, make this the year you do it. You. Can. Be. Happy. Grin It may take time and practice, but you'll get there.

(Except when it comes to Uggs Wink )

Not really interested in looking expensive, etc, butI will aim for:

  • fresher, barely-there make-up look. It suits me better even though I didn't wear much before. Only just discovered after 20 yrs that my eyes look younger and more alive without my usual catflick liner.
  • stick with my best colours and styles: black, white, navy and grey suit me best. Patterns only for the occasional dress. Simplicity over fuss. Loving Scandinavian style right now.
  • always moisturize neck and upper chest (décolletage, haha!).
  • never cut another bloody fringe. My face really suits longer hair so will resist my annual temptation now that it is grown fully out.
  • more pampering and face mask time in the bath!
  • actually wear strappy/sleeveless tops in summer. My arms, back and neck are nice and I have no idea why I have always avoided this style. Perhaps cos i'm pale? Need to chill out and stop being silly.

Sparklyraindeers - can you tell me more about the Amazon Brazilian Blowdry please? I can't find a local hairdresser that does it but did you buy a kit and do it yourself? Thanks.
Honey - what an inspiration. Thank you.
