Now that I'm on mat leave I don't have the spare cash I once did to spend on higher end make up :(

So, hit me with your favourite 'drug store' products/dupes

If possible, specifically black kohl eyeliner, highlighter and foundation.

Currently using a Mac foundation but my skin is quite dry and prone to break outs since having my baby so need to change

L'Oréal are prettty good and Bourjois.

squiz81 · 08/12/2016 16:28

Do you have a kiko near you? I've been pleased with their foundation and eyeliner.

Maybelline anti age under eye stuff is great.

Keep an eye out in TK Maxx. I recently got Nars nail varnish for £3, urban decay eye pencils, 4 double ended ones for £10 & a lovely eyeshadow palette for £5.

Juicyfrooty · 08/12/2016 16:30

L'oreal infallible matte foundation or max factor all day flawless

Collection or maybelline age rewind concealer

Max factor creme puff blush

Bourjois rouge edition velvet liquid lipstick

Revlon lip crayons

Sleek and makeup revolution for eyeshadow palettes

Collection liquid liner pen, rimmel for pencil liners

Max factor masterpiece max mascara

The no7 chubby stick highlighter is nice

purplefizz26 · 08/12/2016 16:30

L'Oréal foundation is fab, they have a few different types to try.
Rimmel kohl pencil
L'Oréal liquid eyeliner pens
Bourjois eyeshadow

froglou · 08/12/2016 16:41

Wet n wild cover all foundation (£5?) with a nyx (£4?) primer (both American brands bought on eBay)

MUA (only sold in Superdrug) are pretty good, I use there concealer when I need it, there eyebrow pencil, eyeshadow and eye liner pencil, all only £1 each, there a brilliantly cheap brand actually I haven't tried there foundations but I can vouch for there concealer and eye makeup.
Wet n wild matte lipsticks are amazing (£3) it's an American brand but the lipsticks are amazing and really cheap, dupes of Mac texture and hold wise.

Lottapianos · 08/12/2016 16:42

Rimmel Match Perfection foundation - best I've ever used for my dry skin. Lovely glowy finish and lasts all day.
Very narrow colour range though

Maybelline Colour Sensational lipsticks and Revlon lipsticks are excellent

Kohl - I got an excellent one from KIKO. Exaggerate from Rimmel also v good

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 08/12/2016 16:47

Wilkos make up is great.

8DaysAWeek · 08/12/2016 16:48

Bourjous Foundation.

Revlon buttershine lipsticks
Max Factor cream blush

Fluffycloudland77 · 08/12/2016 17:57

Mua from superdrug, best eyeliner and only £1.

I use their foundations & highlighters too.

Youranus · 08/12/2016 19:53

Another vote here for MUA from Superdrug.

This is the best mascara I've used in a long time.

This Revlon powder adds a very flattering glow to my ageing skin!

Loreal true match foundation - I use as a cheaper alternative to Estée Lauder double wear.

Rimmel black kohl pencil eyeliner is fantastic and about £3.

Bourgeois are good for bronzes and blusher- I find some other cheaper brands too powdery and orange but they have a high level of pigment.

Maybeline mascara.

8DaysAWeek · 08/12/2016 21:15

Ah yes writers I used to have a bourgeois blush that was lovely!

LamppostInWinter · 08/12/2016 21:19

Bourgeois healthy mix foundation is a fab dupe for the Chanel vitalumiere(?). I've heard people rave about revlon colourstay as a dupe for MUFE but I'm using it at the moment and don't rate it.

stripybluejumper · 08/12/2016 22:41

Maybeline gel eye liner (in little pots) is pretty amazing. I use the black and the brown...both are long lasting. I've used high end eye liners... this one definitely wins for me.

ElizaSchuyler · 08/12/2016 22:43

MUA Fawn Fancy matte lipstick is a dupe for MAC Velvet Teddy.

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 08/12/2016 22:49

Bourgois is essentially a Chanel diffusion line.. I really rate Boots 17 - great for problem skin- and Sleek (in Superdrug) for on-trend colours etc

Oh yeah maybelline gel liner is great! I used to use that before I started using illamasquas gel liner and actually I don't notice a difference. I'm just not great at applying gel liner (I have a really good zoeva brush for it too :( ) so am gonna try a pen.

Still to find the ideal highlighter though! Currently using Mac Soft & Gentle which is nice but I'd prefer something with less bronze in it as I'm very pale skinned so it can look just like very glittery bronzer on me :/ again looking for something stocked in boots/Superdrug etc.

Anyone tried the Sleek makeup contour kit?

OP posts:
EstelleRoberts · 09/12/2016 02:01

NYX is great, especially the lip products. Lipsticks, soft matte lip creams, lip lingerie and pencils all great. Can be got at some larger Boots and from Boots online.

MetalLaLa · 09/12/2016 02:29

Another one who loves the Maybelline gel eyeliner and also a recent convert to the Lash Sensastional mascara, best I've ever used! With the eyeliner I do use the Real Techniques silicone liner brush (black and purple) I find it just glides on so easily. Also use No7 Stay Perfect foundation and Rimmel matte powder. Apart from my foundation I do buy my makeup from Amazon as it's normally half the price of Boots.

joangray38 · 09/12/2016 02:53

I like essence sold at Wilkos. The eye palettes are great.

avamiah · 09/12/2016 02:53

I use Clarins tinted moisturiser but I use Rimmel Long lash mascara and eyeliner and lipstick but I can't find a better blusher than my one from Mac.
The blusher and tinted moisturiser lasts me ages so it's worth the extra couple of pounds and I save money on the lipstick and mascara and eyeliner but they are in my opinion as good as and even better than the "Top"brands.
Hope this helps.
