Now that I'm on mat leave I don't have the spare cash I once did to spend on higher end make up :(

So, hit me with your favourite 'drug store' products/dupes

If possible, specifically black kohl eyeliner, highlighter and foundation.

Currently using a Mac foundation but my skin is quite dry and prone to break outs since having my baby so need to change

Haven't tried the Sleek palette but only because the colours are too warm for me. Their brow duo is great.

Another vote for NYX. Their products are unbelievably good and so cheap.

8DaysAWeek · 09/12/2016 09:52

I've never tried any NYX products at all! Any in particular? Will have a look at their lip stuff as recommended previously

I've only just discovered NYX and usually buy high end make up but I picked some up in the states after reading good reviews and am so impressed. If you Google top 10 NYX buys it gives you a good starting point. I have a lip crayon, a lip butter gloss, the dark circle concealer, brow and eye highlighters, the wonder pencil and an illuminating primer. All better than their Mac/Chanel etc equivalents

Boots Natural Collections do a lovely highlighter stick can't go wrong for £2!
I've run out of my all time favourite Becca Champagne Pop so have been using the cheap one just with a spritz of urban decay setting spray and to be honest my make up doesn't look any different.

8DaysAWeek · 09/12/2016 11:43

I'm quite a lip makeup novice. I like to put my makeup on then not have to think about it or touch up later so I think that's why. I'll def look at NYX stuff. A full face of makeup looks daft without nice lips!

I've always wanted to try Champagne Pop but too pricey at the moment so will look out for the cheapy one now Grin

I have just discovered a high street make up gem! Bourjois 123 foundation- brilliant stuff! It's not as dewy as I'm used to, but it's great coverage that looks really natural. Also Bourjois mascara- volume glamour and volume glamour MAX.

whaaaaat · 09/12/2016 11:59

Oh and 17 lipsticks too. The Stay Pout range are great. They last, but aren't drying. Not super lasting, but a good few hours without re applying, lasting. I wear Fond Farewell.

molemonkey · 09/12/2016 12:02

Sleek contour cream palette is fab as is their highlighter palette

BusterGonad · 09/12/2016 12:02

Bourjois for eyeshadows and lipsticks/liquid lipstick. L'Oréal for Matt lippy. I like No7 foundation, the one in the black square bottle and I also like their brush pen style concealer. Rimmel wake me foundation is quite nice if you want something a bit heavier but still creamy and moisturizing. I like Rimmel and L'Oréal mascara. Max Factor cream puff blushers are beautiful and their cream blushers are great too. Rimmel lip liners are great.

LaundryQueenHatesIroning · 09/12/2016 12:03

Collection stick highlighter is superb, excellent colour, consistency and easy to apply. And it's only about 3-4 quid.

8DaysAWeek · 09/12/2016 12:13

I LOVED wake me up foundation Buster but my skin did not :( it really did give a nice glow so I was pretty gutted about that

Currently have the Rimmel match perfection foundation on and I have to say so far so good. Quite a dewy feel and not drying. Hopefully it'll last the day.

One thing I've never stopped using is the Rimmel stay matte translucent powder. I just use it under my eyes on top of concealer to stop creasing and it works so well

Boots natural collection mascara . £2 and amazing !

BusterGonad · 09/12/2016 13:10

Some foundations mess my skin up too. I'm using a No7 primer and am unsure if it ruins my skin! No7 do a glowy foundation too. Good luck with your purchases. Grin

I purchased the ALDI Lacura 3D mascara for a Halloween look...Really fab product considering its so cheap! Would buy again!
Has anyone else used any other cosmetics from ALDI that they would recommend?
I'm also after a good primer which isn't too expensive...any suggestions? X

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 14/12/2016 20:04

Also eye liner is amazing , they only do black, grey and emerald but they're such wearable colours. I stock up when they're in store. The mineral powder is excellent too as is the under eye concealer and I agree about the mascara, its fab!

8DaysAWeek · 14/12/2016 20:17

Is the aldi under eye concealer the ons that everyone says is like touche eclat?

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 14/12/2016 20:18

Squeee · 14/12/2016 20:41
