Right I'm totally stuck, got my first work Christmas party since baby coming up - I go back to work on Jan 2nd. Loads of new people in the office, I would like to go back with a bang and be 'Crisp' again for the evening rather than 'Mummy'. The things I've seen in the shops either look really odd, like stuff I used to wear in the 90's, or like the sort of thing I would have loved wearing with my pre-baby figure Sad

I'm short, size 12 with weight on my tummy as well as a section scar so deep you could get lost in it.... pale skinned, small chested, good legs.

What are you all wearing? Inspire me please! I'm desperate! Wine

Warehouse dress French Connection dress and Mango dress to different evenings. Although I have a tux trouser suit that would be nice..

Wore this Zara dress to a night last week. LOVE IT but you probs need to be tall to carry it off - photos don't do it justice, it's VERY sparkly! Wore it with a Gucci waist belt..

margaritasbythesea · 06/12/2016 16:17

Watching wiht interest as I am totally uninspired this year. Although I do fancy a tuxedo suit and have been looking for one. Where did you get yours Happy? I quite fancy it in white

mammamiapia · 06/12/2016 17:21

OP going back to work on 2nd of Jan too and I'm having the exact same dilemma!!
Happygirl those dresses are gorgeous

abeandhalo · 06/12/2016 17:26

I've got this dress from ASOS I love it. It fits my 6 month baby bump quite well & not too booby! Going to wear with leggings, boots & a black cardy.

Thanks! Very nice dresses linked, I feel like I'm a bit fat and frumpy for them but maybe I should try something similar on and see how it looks. Short could definitely be a good way to go since my legs have made it through pregnancy/motherhood relatively unscathed... Smile

Thinking about this

Notfeelingfestiveuntilxmaseve · 06/12/2016 22:16

Happy I like that Zara dress if it was tighter - looks like a baggy sack in the pictures.
Do you think the small would be tight on a size 8?

HappyGirlNow · 06/12/2016 22:49

notfeeling it's tighter on me than in pics, I don't like it in the pics. I am a size 10 on top and 12 bottom and got size M and it's nice and fitted from the waist up. It's stretchy so you wouldn't go wrong with sizing down. It's so beautiful in real life, gorgeous sparkle Grin

HappyGirlNow · 06/12/2016 22:50

Love the Miss Selfridge dress!

HappyGirlNow · 06/12/2016 22:53

Jacket

Trousers

iluvsummer · 06/12/2016 22:53

I've got this ameliasattire.bigcartel.com/product/art-deco it's much more sparkly and fitted than in the pics tho, just the right amount of oomph I've been looking for

blueshoes · 06/12/2016 22:56

NewLook high neck gold swing dress

Flatter your legs, skims the tum. High neck works for the small chest. Easy to dress up or down with shoes and accessories.

MrsPigling · 06/12/2016 23:23

I wore this...

www.very.co.uk/so-fabulous-capped-sleeve-lace-midi-dress/1600077924.prd

was shorter on me as I'm v tall (and wobbly in heels...!)

EddieStobbart · 06/12/2016 23:28

yes, I know

puglife15 · 06/12/2016 23:38

Probably this. I'm over sparkles.

I saw an AMAZING green velvet petite jumpsuit on the new look website. If I had anything to wear it to I'd definitely buy it.

margaritasbythesea · 07/12/2016 06:26

Really nice happy girl. Thanks.

Omg you all must have figures to die for. I couldn't wear any of those!

Disraeli · 07/12/2016 06:53

I'm wearing jeans and boots to mine.

But it is at a bowling alley. Slightly jealous of all you lot who get to wear sparkly dresses! I might try and find a glittery top.

BusterGonad · 07/12/2016 07:56

Eddie who's going in the other half or did my link deceive me?

AeFondCrisp · 07/12/2016 08:21

Wow thanks there are some gorgeous dresses linked thanks. I feel like I haven't seen many short dresses in the shops but they must be out there.

Eddie, previous years may have seen me wear the jumper and nothing else and look for a willing participant to share it but those days are behind me Wink

Recently lost 3 stone and over the moon to be able to wear nice things again! Wearing with black and gold peep toe sandals and a green velvet blazer from dotty p's. Can't wait to get it on! Still need to find a necklace though - suggestions welcome Smile
