Do you pluck your own eyebrows and maintain your own fanjo?

I do, always have, but sick of looking for stray hairs every day.

Is it worth having them done professionally?

Ditto with fanjo, never had a wax. Should I?

eyebrows myself - the one time I had done professionally was no difference apart from I was £25 lighter.

fanjo me with a razor in the bath.

Gobbledigook · 16/02/2007 13:50

Yes to both.

Eyebrows don't really need much work - my nail (and beauty) lady said mine were best left alone as they are fine as they are.

Couldn't bear to go for bikini wax - far too embarrassing, so that's a chore I keep for myself.

edam · 16/02/2007 13:51

I don't find I need to maintain my fanjo, it just looks after itself.

sunnywong · 16/02/2007 13:53

well yes, mine is hardly a Bear Trapper's Hat but it's just a thang we have got going. Not really maintaineance

northerner · 16/02/2007 13:54

I just like the thought of a pro whipping off my fanjo ahir and not worrying about it for weeks......

Also, do pubes turn grey?

Because no way would I ever have a grey fanjo. It would all come off then.

Eyebrows - professional wax every 6 weeks or so, maintain inbetween.

Fanjo - eitehr do myslef & suffer terrible shaving rash, or get waxed - only round the edges, tho - anything else I would need a GA for.

doormat · 16/02/2007 13:58

yes I maintain both

waxing isnt too bad

Cashncarry · 16/02/2007 14:02

Eyebrows - threaded every few months and then maintained by me in between

Fanjo - me and occasionally DH. Would not dream of letting a stranger have a butchers

Cashncarry · 16/02/2007 14:03

Oh and Northerner - yes, you do get grey pubes

NorksBrideOHara · 16/02/2007 14:05

Eyebrows I do myself.

Fanjo - had a Brazilian once, the itching was so awful that I've been au naturel ever since.

Oati · 16/02/2007 14:10

eyebrows go grey as well

clumsymum · 16/02/2007 14:10

Northerner, just to point out, It rarely all turns grey, you stop getting such a bushy fanjo as the years go by, I am informed by my mother.

clumsymum · 16/02/2007 14:12

Do you mean you SHAVED a brazilian?

Cos a waxed brazilian wouldn't itch, surely?

I want a brazilian (or even more off), but I'm really scared of the pain.

Tutter · 16/02/2007 14:13

yes, both

eyebrows, obsessively, prob every other day or so

fanjo far less frequently. occasionally get a professional on the job (before hols etc) but am fortunate enough to be fairly (what's the opposite of hirsute?) down there

NorksBrideOHara · 16/02/2007 14:22

No, it was waxed Brazilian. When the hair started to grow back it itched like mad.

I suppose you then have to keep shaving or put up with the 'no I haven't got crabs I'm just growing into my next Brazilian'...

I do it all myself these days.

I did have everything waxed professionally for many years, all before I had children and was flush and carefree.

So I learned enough, and killed enough hair follicles, to now be able to handle it myself.

quokka · 16/02/2007 14:42

I don't get itchy when mine grows back (after waxing). Might try the extended brazilian next time, you do get used to the pain. I have a friend who has a hollywood every month, I'm sure she does it more for her dh than for herself.

SmileysPeople · 16/02/2007 14:43

I have everything waxed.

Brazilian fanjo
full leg (both of them)
eyebrows
and underarms.

had it all done yesterday. have it done every 2 months or so, more in the summer.
thinks it's brill, would never go back to shaving.

quokka · 16/02/2007 14:48

I did have my underarms done once and I couldn't do it again waaaayyyy too painful.

SmileysPeople · 16/02/2007 14:51

The underarms aren't painful!!

In fact don't notice any pain anymore. Can continue animated conversation even whilst having the 'underneath' done

quokka · 16/02/2007 15:02

The most painful part of the brazilian is when she does the top bit, I find everything else bearable but that always gets me Have you ever had the extended?

SmileysPeople · 16/02/2007 15:06

What's the extended?

I think I probably have. She does the underneath and the back.

The first time I had it done there was a communication breakdown and I had the whole lot off

had a good weekend away with DH though

Now I have a strip left. So much more 'tasteful',ha

swifterella · 16/02/2007 15:10

eyebrows waxed once a month
use a snatch trimmer on the fanjo when i can be arsed

quokka · 16/02/2007 15:13

Not too sure what the extended is, the lady who does mine is polish and doesn't speak that much english. I think its when they go back further (around your bum). Never had a hollywood (all off) but I'm sure my dh wouldn't object. I agree its nicer with a stripe left on the front I would feel funny completely hairless. I'll never go back to having a regular bikini wax though.
