Love buying make up, it's my absolute favourite treat! Also love reading others recommendations of their favourite products to give me ideas. I tend to buy online as don't have access to all the brands where I live.

Would love to hear people's favourite products, whether they are classics or new products... or what are the current must have products ?

Currently I love wearing UD naked palettes (original and 2 are my faves), just started wearing Nars all day luminous foundation which I love with nars pressed powder after switching from EL double wear, mac glowbal glow, mac teddy velvet lipstick.. UD perversion mascara, have just ordered smash box primer having used benefit pore-fessional for years, can't wait to try that Smile

Hopefully I can get some ideas for xmas Xmas Smile

Heather shimmer! Do they still make that?! I used to always wear that in the 90s and coffee shimmer too Grin

Where can you get bye bye eye corrector here? Google seems to only bring up American websites, looks good though!

Laura Mercier - The tinted moisturiser, secret concealer, translucent powder, and their primers.

Armani - Luminous Silk foundation (which mixes brilliantly with the LM TM to get an in between coverage). High Precision retouch concealer. Eyes to Kill mascara.

Chantecaille - Their TM is great too but a bit too expensive, the LM TM is only marginally less impressive and half the price. I am hopelessly devoted despite the insane price to their Faux Cils Longest Lash Mascara, it contains growth peptides too and it does work beautifully whilst giving you the most beautiful natural version of your lashes possible. The HD powder and the bronzer version of it are great too. Just ordered the brow gel that has the same growth peptides as the mascara but it has yet to arrive. If I could only buy from one brand it would be Chantecaille.

Dior- I used to be a big Chanel fan but as of late I'm not really feeling the colours (products are still great) and have found myself more and more drawn to Dior that's always felt a bit underrated (incidentally where the former Chanel Creative Director moved onto). I love the new Rouge Dior lipsticks in St Germain and Classic Matte and am eagerly anticipating the spring collection.

Kiko- really impressive for the low prices. It's basically high end makeup at high street prices and most likely made in all the same factories in Northern Italy that produce the designer brands. They do fab nailpolishes with good staying power, brilliant lipsticks, the powder products are all great. Mascaras and base products less impressive.

Really intrigued by Surratt lately- it mixes Japanese production methods and formulations with more western colour palettes (Nars meets Suqqu). Have ordered their La Vie en Rose blush and it should arrive soon, can't wait. Their eyeshadows are also supposed to be amazing, and I have the brow pommade and the pointilliste mascara (for bottom lashes) on my to buy list.

Surratt eyeshadows are the finest I've ever touched. Finely milled, feel like silk, great colours.
Same with the powder blush.
I tried the lot in Liberty, there was lots of Ohhh! And Ahhh!.

thethoughtfox · 03/12/2016 20:28

Mowglik, I like yo style.

thethoughtfox · 03/12/2016 20:29

You need to join Mrs Gloss and the Goss on fb, loads of lovely make up recommendations on there.

It's not make up but I've been using this for a few weeks and it has totally transformed my hair.

Ohb0llocks · 03/12/2016 20:32

Revolution* not regulation Grin

Ohb0llocks · 03/12/2016 20:32

I second Mrs gloss

Ohb0llocks · 03/12/2016 20:34

Rimmel true matte is the best finishing powder I've ever used

BroomstickOfLove · 03/12/2016 20:37

I'm currently loving my Missha Perfect Cover BB cream. I'm very pale and cool-toned and fine it hard to get stuff that doesn't look a bit too yellow. And this is just right for what I want - it doesn't make my skin look flawless, but like naturally lovely skin instead - even and velvety and soft and healthy, and not really made-up.

Cakescakescakes · 03/12/2016 20:42

The urban decay comfort matte lipsticks are great. Matte without being cloying and overly dry and great lasting power especially when used with a lip liner.

Racheyg · 03/12/2016 20:49

Benefit hula bronzer
Mac lingering eyebrow pencil
Benefit boing

I need a really decent foundation. I am using stila st the moment

endofacentury · 03/12/2016 20:53

Loads of great suggestions, been happily looking up all the ones I haven't heard of all evening Smile adding to mental wish list...

ByeBye Undereye is available on QVC (I was looking at it for DD, she's the make-up lover not myself)

I was just having a whinge to myself this morning that my YBF eye pencil is running out and I haven't found a replacement Sad

LadyOfTheCanyon · 03/12/2016 20:59

I'm in LOVE with my Marc Jacobs foundation at the moment - the coverage is just heavy enough if you want to look 'done'. Ive quite dry skin though so I use it over a good dollop of Elemis marine cream and it looks amazing.

Hourglass sheer colour trio in Sunset is the absolute bollocks for a light dose of contouring - the cream bronzer, blush and highlighter just work really well for me.

MAC sheer pressed powder (which I've stocked up on as there were rumours it's being discontinued and it's only available online now)

byTerry ombré blackstar eye crayons in bronze moon and brown perfection

Lancôme Hypnose mascara

Rimmel brow pencil - cheap as chips and brilliant but also Anastasia dip brow and L'Oréal brow artist plumper

Benefit Hoola

Becca highlighters

Tartlette matte eye palette, also MAC Blanc de something white eyeshadow

Nars orgasm powder and multiple

Becca beach tint blush

Lipstick Queen jungle queen lipstick

The Collection concealer that's £2.99. I don't need much concealer so I've never seen the point in a 'good' one

Lipsticks- I'm such a lipstick whore I don't really have a favourite as it changes from week to week but I always go back to MAC see sheer, MAC crosswires LQ Jungle queen, LQ Play It and Revlon Candyapple.

Makeup is THE BEST. Grin

I love this thread could chat about this for weeks! Just had my first and already have people telling me I'll have no time to put on make up !! I prefer anti cruelty brands, currently loving anything ABH and KylieCosmetics are just to die for!!!! Also sugarpill are brilliant for super pigmented and fun colours. I love the look of all benefit cosmetics and do actually have a brow gel which was bought for me, and the same for mac products (but is it just the name I love????). UD palettes, TooFaced palettes, my sugarpill trinket lipstick.... ugh don't I have the urge to go splash the non existent pennies!!

bigredboat · 03/12/2016 21:18

Hourglass ambient lighting blush, it gives a lovely glow and the packaging is nice too.

JDSTER · 03/12/2016 22:18

Benefit porefessional a must. I've tried other cheaper primers but not a patch, for me anyway. Estée Lauder double wear or double wear BB I think it is for slightly lighter coverage. Bobbi Brown pot rouge, BB concealer around eyes. Mac Blot powder for shine control. I never buy mascara, just use the GWP ones and get eyelashes tinted and HD brows (not scarey looking, just a better shape and tinted slightly darker). BB lip gloss in buff, gorgeous shade for me (fair and blonde)- people often comment on it.
Hello Bo, interesting what you said about Kiko. We have one in our city and I've never set foot in it as I thought it was an inexpensive brand more suited to the young uns Wink

ChickenVindaloo2 · 03/12/2016 22:52

Avon glimmersticks for eyes and lips (I put the lipliner all over my lips instead of lipstick)
Avon powder blush in peach - always get compliments (celtic colouring here)
Bobbi Brown lip and cheek tint
No7 liquid eyeshadow - stays on all day

botemp · 03/12/2016 23:30

Kiko does indeed have a bit of a MAC vibe, JDSTER, and the staff is just as orange looking useless but they have some great things in there. It is slightly warm toned though so I gravitate more to it in s/s than winter (am neutral and change with the weather Grin) and some things can be a bit too shimmery but that's personal taste I suppose.

FeliciaJollygoodfellow · 03/12/2016 23:44

LOVE Real Techniques sponge.
Smashbox oil primer (any good oil really, but I have this at the moment!) I mix two drops with my foundation and it looks lovely
Stila Kitten eyeshadow
Essence nail polishes - get them from Wilko. I love a high end treat but these are cheap as chips and so good! The top coats are amazing.
MUA luxe cream blushers. Again, cheap as chips and so good. I love them.
Ponds magic BB powder from Amazon. Best powder ever for my always needed to be powdered face!
Urban Decay All Nighter setting spray.

I love make up too OP which is why I have to put myself on a ban which I always break Blush

8DaysAWeek · 04/12/2016 00:19

Make Up Geek eyeshadows
Zoeva smoky palette
Ilamasqua gel sculpt in silhouette is amazing
Benefit porefessional as mentioned loads!
ABH dip brow

HooArghhhEwe · 04/12/2016 02:51

End I like Charlotte Tilbury mat lipsticks. They aren't horribly drying like the Mac ones. Lost Cherry is my favourite. Love Tom Ford lipsticks too.

Getting on very well with the Lance cushion foundation. It's the only foundation I've ever used that I can actually just use over my discoloured bits to create a properly flawless face that still looks like real skin. I suspect this is mostly because the colour is perfect for me. Also second Chantercaille TM, it's excellent too.
