What shoes with pencil dress?

I have boots, converse or sandals, none of which I can wear with a black frock. It's not a sparkly dress type event but I'd like to look chic rather than my usual lumbering grunge left over very casual.

Bare legs isn't an option so I suppose I need some horrible tights (please advise which ones for which shoes as I am clueless with anything other than jeans).

A picture would really help!

Sorry, thought I'd attached it Blush

If it was me I'd wear skin colour tights and red sling backs or leopard print pointy toed shoes. I think black tights would be to much black but that's just my opinion, maybe sheer black tights and leopard shoes?

poppym12 · 01/12/2016 08:51

I hadn't even thought about NOT wearing black footwear etc buster....... which just hoes to show that I'm not stylish at all! Do black tights look ok with anything other than black shoes?

  • goes to show. I'm not thinking of accessorising with garden tools.

I think you need sheer black tights and leopard shoes with black in, I'm not sure really as I'm not a black tights lover myself! I think black dress, black tights and black shoes might be a bit......black! Lol.

BusterGonad · 01/12/2016 11:30

The black spots will coordinate it, I'm thinking!

If it was me I'd wear nude tights and red shoes!

Santaseasonalfireplace · 01/12/2016 11:36

Loving leopard pointies and sheer legs. Knock out. Chunky jewellery

poppym12 · 01/12/2016 11:47

I'm thinking that is a better option for me than leopard print as I'd never wear them again. I really don't like animal print anything.
There are way too many shoe styles about. I think I need an idiot guide to suitable shoes for each outfit book.

If you're not happy with statement shoes then just whack on a pair of strappy sandals and bare legs like the model? Or sheer black tights and blue shoes?

I've never seen Towie summer but boots you say. ........ Maybe I should just wear a different dress that I can wear boots with Wink
Killer heels not really an option as OH is a gnats fart bigger than a dwarf shorter than me when I'm barefoot so we'd look like a pantomime couple if I wore big heels.

poppy, crushed velvet over the knee boots are the thing at the moment check some of them out if I were you!

I do love diamante bobby dazzlers myself, lovely for a bit of extra glam on a miserable chilly and wet thursday in blighty lol. Towie is not so bad check that out too if you want to have a laugh with all the essex gals.

poppym12 · 01/12/2016 22:27

I'm way too old and fat for that malarkey summer. I have seen a pair of peep toe shoe boots that I like but they're suede and I don't wear leather so I'm looking for a non leather pair with a covered front but no toes - are they even a thing? Would they look ok with that dress?

OP posts:
Summertime1 · 02/12/2016 11:39

lol poppy aren't we all!
I am a bit lost on what you really want though, about the 'covered with no toes' bit?

poppym12 · 02/12/2016 13:36

I mean the front of the foot covered (the bridge?) but with peep toes. They all seem to be really high though.

Oh ok that makes sense, there are some flatter ones about but it depends on your own sense of style and what you need so they are practical too.

Summertime1 · 02/12/2016 18:27

look good to me hecallsmebunny lets see what she makes of them

poppym12 · 02/12/2016 19:21

Just remembered, I have some boot shoe things similar to these...... think they'd look ok with the dress I posted earlier?

I love that dress! Where did you get it from?

hecallsmebunny · 02/12/2016 19:53

Try them on with it and see how you feel. Only you can ultimately decide

poppym12 · 02/12/2016 20:51

It's from asos football. Think it cost about 20 quid. Obviously not the thickest quality fabric but it looks nice on (and I'll probably only wear it once).

OP posts:
Summertime1 · 05/12/2016 13:11

You might wear it more than once poppy see how it goes, you might love it and knock em all dead in it!
