That's why I hate eBay - it makes me irrationally angry.....
I'm sorry I can't come up to the mini MU, although would love a little chitter chatter at the moment.
Mrs S - I would be fuming too at school just announcing grades like that. Can you ask them to have an 'all teacher meeting', write it up, present it to you and then have a meeting with the tutor to discuss. That's what happened with ds last term when it all started to go tits up. I have the opposite problem - predictions of B's and C's which usually would be a bit lower than what I would expect from him, but at the moment, I think they are unrealistically high.....
WAF - We have a lot of explosive moments at the moment and a lot of unnecessary 'coming down hard' by dh IMO. Now is not the time to insist on dd sitting the 'correct' distance from the table - lots of tongue biting here as well. I do get sucked into the misery mire from time to time. I'm off to the GP next week as I think menopause, stopping work and extensive exposure to CAMHS is not good for one's soul.
Ds has a detention tonight - the first of his school career, for running away from rugby training. They all know the history, but I think it's right that it goes ahead, as he needs to be made aware that we need to know where he is at all times. However, I think he will be in a right mood when he gets back. No decision on family therapy yet. Need to decide this week though, I think.
Rudy - sometimes in laws just don't appreciate the good things in life - please don't angst about it - just prime dh to be strong enough to tell them to take a flying jump every so often.
Herbs - I wouldn't take ds, unless you can plan where she will be and how she will be able to connect with him. My dmum requested the children come around a couple of weeks before she died, much care was taken to get her into a chair, make her look nice and we were only there about 15 mins. She handed them boxes of sweets which was completely unlike her, so I know she was super ill by then. As we left, we all ran through the garden, looking up at the window where she was looking out, shouting 'bye, Granny'..... makes me cry thinking about it, even now. So it was nice and poignant, but it was very well organised by my super sister.
Now for something uplifting but a bit sad - a dad at school has released this....apparently we only need 2000 more downloads to make the charts! Dd2 is not in it, but lots of her friends are (she is becoming too cool for choirs, mores the pity)
