What is best to wear if you are short and fat?

I suppose that's the gist of the question. I have a big belly and massive thighs in particular.

It's cool.

I've put on weight recently too. It's shit. And you feel shit for feeling shit.

And I do swear in every post. I'd be banned from most forums.

Wrap dresses are forgiving. As are a-line skirts - cover your thighs, you won't know they're there. Fine knits are slimming. Knitted dresses look the balls over leggings and worn with boots.

Check out Bunny on 'Drifters'. Bigger (for an actress) and dresses well.

Tunic tops are also great if you're having a fat day and want to cover up but still look stylish.

I rate George at ASDA for some nice stuff. Also Joe Browns and Boden.

But seriously, wear what the fuck YOU want, what YOU like and what YOU feel comfortable in.

KingJoffreysRestingCuntface · 12/11/2016 23:24

And if in doubt buy the bigger size. Otherwise you'll feel massively self concious about stuff being too tight.

Bonobosown · 12/11/2016 23:26

OP you completely took joffrey's comments the wrong way, that first one was trying to be supportive.

Have you not been on mn long?

KingJoffreysRestingCuntface · 12/11/2016 23:30

Ah, don't get at the OP.

She's feeling shit and needs our help.

My feelings aren't hurt. I type flippantly and you can read text in many ways.

She's cool. Lets find her some clothes and give her a boost.

And maybe 'wear what the fuck you want' is crap advice for someone who's body has changed and has no idea where to start.

Bonobosown · 12/11/2016 23:32

joff wise words Cake

KingJoffreysRestingCuntface · 12/11/2016 23:34

This is going to sound totally and beyond naff but I quite rate Trinny and Susannah. Not as mates or anything but they do know their shit when it comes to body shapes and 'what not to wear'.

I expect the books are dirt cheap on Amazon.

CurbsideProphet · 12/11/2016 23:37

I'm 5 ft / size 14 / 34 E and always remember advice to accentuate the smallest part of the body - for me that is under my bust and my waist. I wear "fit and flare" shape dresses and fitted cropped cardigans. New Look and Dorothy Perkins are both good for these and won't break the bank.

CurbsideProphet · 12/11/2016 23:38

Getting the right bra is the best place to start. Have you read the bra intervention threads on here?

CoffeeCoffeeAndLotsOfIt · 12/11/2016 23:39

Joffrey - you sound lovely.

OP - I have no constructive advice, though I'm also short and overweight so following with interest.

KingJoffreysRestingCuntface · 12/11/2016 23:41

Meh. I've upset the OP though which was never an intention.

She must be pretty down if my posts are bothering her.

I want to help but she's not come back.

QueenMortificado · 12/11/2016 23:42

How nice when a poster takes offence to someone's words and instead of it turning to an out-and-out bun fight, it all gets amicably resolved. Nice one.

OP, sorry you're feeling a bit shit atm. Fwiw, most people won't even notice that you've put on weight so please don't stop going out because you think people will notice. They really won't.

Wrap dresses are good, as are skater styles. My go-to are black skinny jeans which I know everyone doesn't agree with but they look great with a loose cami that skims the tummy and then add a long blazer over the top. You can get all this stuff in primark or new look so not budget breaking either.

KingJoffreysRestingCuntface · 12/11/2016 23:44

I'm not sure about skinny jeans on big thighs.

Maybe if you're tall and your thighs are really far away from your ankles it looks fine but I get the impression the OP is 5'4" or under.

SortAllTheThings · 12/11/2016 23:47

Nice one Joff

GlitteryFluff · 12/11/2016 23:48

Watching with interest..
I seem to live in skinny jeans and blouses or baggy tops.

QueenMortificado · 12/11/2016 23:51

I guess it works for some people and not for other others. I recommended wrap dresses as they work for some but they make my boobs look even bigger and pointy in a Madonna-esque way

And the knit dresses seem to cling to everything making me look even lumpier. I definitely look better in seperate

dailymailarecunts · 13/11/2016 00:18

Joff Flowers

I am short and fat but I feel infinitely better no matter what I wear if I have my suck 'em in pants on that go from thigh up to my boobs. Makes my outline smoother (even though I'm still fat!)

KingJoffreysRestingCuntface · 13/11/2016 00:23

Maybe I'm projecting?

If I wore skinny jeans I'd feel like my thighs were saying, "Helloooo, Britain!"

I wear bootcuts.

They're tatty. And too big. Full of holes. Bleach stains on the bottoms from my enthusiastic mopping.

I even wear flared trousers to work.

Maybe my thighs are ruling my life a teeny bit too much?

SortAllTheThings · 13/11/2016 00:31

If I wore skinny jeans my legs would look like enormous hams. Nope. Bootcut is the only answer.

KingJoffreysRestingCuntface · 13/11/2016 00:36

Hams?

Mine would look more like kebab meat.

I envy your hams.

SortAllTheThings · 13/11/2016 00:49

Yesss... It's the kebab thing.

Really want chips with curry sauce now.

KingJoffreysRestingCuntface · 13/11/2016 00:50

Nah, heartburn in a yellow polystyrene container.

Have a poached egg.

SortAllTheThings · 13/11/2016 00:55

No cooking while drunk. Will attempt Not Poodle

KingJoffreysRestingCuntface · 13/11/2016 00:58

Eggs aren't cooking.

They're eggs.

Hot water and toaster.

Pot Noodles are far more deadly.

SortAllTheThings · 13/11/2016 00:59

It's OK, I'll have another beer 🍻
