Does anyone regularly wear stockings & suspender belt?

I'm really interested in trying out a suspender belt and stockings rather than tights.

I know I need to get a high waisted one with at least 6 metal clips for it to be practical, but I'm wondering if anyone has any websites, or even better, specific belts/stockings you own which are comfortable?

I have started wearing stockings/hold ups and suspenders generally because I love how I feel in them and I always had too many issues with tights.

They are best work with flowly,loose or thick clothing as they can show through and mini skirts can be a issue with flashing

Honey birdette is a little pricey but their suspenders have never failed me especially the thicker ones

With suspenderbelts I've found that generally I need to order a size smaller for a nice snug fit. By doing so it is also not so noticeable when through successive wearing and laundering the elastic eventually becomes less effective.

Online rights company Snag do tights called Mock Garter, so look like stockings and suspenders but are actually all in one tights.

I’m just of the generation that went from knee socks to stockings and suspenders. Horrible. It was wonderful when tights became widely worn and affordably priced. Having a period was a particularly tiresome experience with a belt for both stockings and a sanitary pad.
Life is way better now.

I'm honestly quite surprised how many wear them on here, god awful things! I'm, 5'9 with really long legs and providing tights are bought in the correct size, they are never ever uncomfortable, the same cannot be said of stockings and suspenders though

Me too! They just seem to belong to the ‘Are you being served’ era.

I usually go to retro rock n roll dances and all the girls wear stockings, 75% of them wear suspender belts on a daily basis. Some say it's for health reasons, some say they feel more feminine. For those who have never tried them have a go, tights are so restricting, for they only started making them for girls who wore a mini. It's a bit too late for me to wear a mini skirt so I will stick to stockings. But I have to admit I only wear them in the summer months

I don't think we wore anything other than stockings in the 80s. French knickers and suspenders were everywhere.. marks and Spencer's used to to have loads all the time.

Weren't even considered sexy, just usual.

I was discussing the discomfort of having to wear stockings and suspenders with my school friend the other day. We were so glad when tights became available in the late 60s/early 70s.

God they are so Uncomfy and a total faff. Can’t believe anyone wears them through choice out of the bedroom.

I started boarding school in 1975 and the school uniform list had “three suspender belts, six pairs of 30 denier tan stockings” on it. Or you could have tights instead .
I used to wear stockings a lot, I started as a teenager and found them better in some ways, as pps say, you only need to replace one leg when it ladders. That does mean you need to buy the same colour and type of stocking all the time though, or it doesn’t work. I wear them less now as I am fatter, and I find tights are more flattering as they don’t highlight or squish the podge and create bulges.
Four straps are fine. I find six straps an unnecessary faff and the bumps show more through clothes. They don’t work well on straighter body shapes, you need a reasonable waist to hip ratio or they will slip down. ( Probably why stouter women in the sixties tended to wear corselettes with suspender clips, as they can’t slip or roll).
Get a belt that isn’t too narrow, or very stretchy. Most suspender belts are for show only now, and not really able to cope with everyday wear. For that you need something sturdier, with less stretch, and straps that aren’t too thin or stretchy either. The modern silicone type tabs work much less well than the older ones. You need strong tabs, preferably metal.

I agree with Blueberry on Heist tights, I mostly wear those now.

Ditto Thrush! so changed to stockings and wide belt 6pointer. Cotton pants also helped. When working I used to change pants during the day.
Sizing can be a nuisance for stockings. Many are only made short for 'fun'.
For Winter I cut legs from opaque tights and machine a top. For 30Den or less you have to try hard. It gives you the length you need.
For smart wear I have decorated tops of fashion wear with ribbon to 'accidently' show.

i tried it in 20s, started with hold ups which I much preferred to tights, stockings and belt better for look and fit and comfort, and then couldn’t be bothered with it, the belts are quite fitting so don’t accommodate weight fluctuations and a faff to go to the loo, prefer tights with their shortcomings. I don’t even wear tights anymore now due to post partum issues.

They were very fashionable in the mid 80s. I wore them all the time in my teens and early 20s. Two hooks on each leg are fine. Tights are far more comfy though and help with any bulges.

I love Levante hold ups, they are worth the money. I've also worn suspenders and stockings to work, I find them comfortable. Might look into buying myself a suspender belt again ...

I frequently do. Pour moi do some great sets. I’ve got basques / suspender sets as well as bra knickers suspender sets.
It makes me feel good to wear them
