Does anyone regularly wear stockings & suspender belt?

I'm really interested in trying out a suspender belt and stockings rather than tights.

I know I need to get a high waisted one with at least 6 metal clips for it to be practical, but I'm wondering if anyone has any websites, or even better, specific belts/stockings you own which are comfortable?

Thanks everyone for the replies. I want to do a mix of tights and stockings just for a change sometimes! I like the idea of them. I think I'm going to try something from What Katie Did and see how I get on.

Much cheaper, buy the same ones in bulk when on offer (esp factory shops/online!). Ladder one leg in a pair of tights? Whole thing in bin. Stockings? Just throw one away, get another from another packet. 60 den for winter is great. Agree metal clips best, high belt most comfortable and yes to knickers over top. Wear tights too, but damn they are fugly.....

Echoing recommendations for WKD. Their girdles are really comfortable. I have very long legs and tights slide down with an awful double crotch effect.

I didn't even really think about how much less waste it is to just replace one stocking

Fanny I think I'm going to order the WKD 'girdlette' as it looks nice but should still do the job I want it to as well.

Can anyone advise if the What Katy did girdles are comfy to wear in an office all day - they do say that they are very tight as they are more or less "shape wear". I wear stockings all the time - no problem with holdups under clingy fabrics but prefer to use a suspender belt when wearing stockings all day. Just have standard suspender belts - although the ones with a bit of depth nowadays - wore the thin ones which are more or less a belt when I was younger & firmer. I like stockings as I am shorter than average & loathe having the waistband of tights up round my neck.

I'm honestly quite surprised how many wear them on here, god awful things! I'm, 5'9 with really long legs and providing tights are bought in the correct size, they are never ever uncomfortable, the same cannot be said of stockings and suspenders though

I also surprised people wear them, they defo show through clothes unless uou wear very loose clothes and they are a total pain in the proverbial to do up.

My view is for the bedroom only, can't imagine actually wearing them to work.😱

I went through a period of wearing them and found that the clips irritated my skin.

With a 33" inseam I don't find myself too long legged to wear tights, albeit, I do find that control/semi control to be the comfiest and wear the best due to the higher Lycra content.

Have a look for some suspender tights - basically crotchless tights with no need for clips etc. I used to wear them all the time when I worked in an office as I did not enjoy a sweaty crotch and didn't want bare legs either!

I have worn crotchless tights before and they are pretty good but the range is quite limited.

I have a 35" inside leg, the only tights I have ever found that fit me comfortably are expensive. I can buy stocking for a fraction of the cost.

I don't understand how people find it difficult to attach the clips! Can you not reach the back of your leg?

As for whether they show through clothing - firstly, why does this even matter? A bra shows through many clothes. Secondly, how do you know? You only know when you can see it, you don't know when you can't, so plenty of people could be wearing stockings with you not knowing!

I used to love wearing stockings and suspenders. You get a snap back feeling behind my knees whilst walking which I liked.

I used to wear hold ups with those silicone sticky bits at the top as a Clinique consultant many moons ago. They used to work pretty well and were quite comfy except one day I had a dodgy one that just kept rolling down constantly. On my walk home through the very busy shopping centre I had to stop in a shop doorway and quickly whip off one of them that had rolled down my leg a bit like the bit in Mrs Doubtfire where he shows off his hairy leg on the bus. Not my finest moment.

I do and love them, can't ever imagine wearing tights again.

When I used to wear skirts for work, back when I was a fit young thing, I always wore them. Found them far more comfortable than tights.

I have just bought nylonica lavante hold up ups the silicone is really good and is excellent for sensitive skin yesterday was the longest time I have worn them 15 hours and never moved at all

I wear stocking/suspenders (I dont’t trust hold ups) regularly after the end of the dreaded opaque tights season and before the bare legged season starts. I also wear them on those cooler summer evenings. But not in winter!

The secret is a good quality belt such as Fantasie and avoid belts with a single hook fastening at the back (rhey cut in), I would suggest atvleast 3 hooks. Plastic suspender clasps are no goid either. There is s lot of rubbish out there, only suitable for the bedroom. Personally, I’m not into dressing for bedroom games anyway.

I used to, then I started wearing shorter skirts and back into tights, but they are better for the whole airflow/thrush issue and are very comfy.
