M&s beauty calendar

So I want the fabled beauty calendar but I can't find anything to buy on the m&s website.

I need...
New ankle boots
A LBD
Dressy tops for evenings out.
But there is nothing I even want to try on!

I have 3 children aged 1-6 but can only find new socks for them.

What can I buy? Confused

Mummamayhem · 10/11/2016 14:22

My local m&s had mountains of them! And there I was worrying they would sell out!

Ordered mine! Bought the oatmeal print Rosie pyjamas - gift from my mum but she doesn't know how to order online.

Reading thread I think I rushed it a bit and need to go back and peruse more leisurely!

gaggiagirl · 10/11/2016 17:29

I got the Alexa Chung pink jumper for my £35

happypoobum · 10/11/2016 18:48

Ordered some thermals for DS so I could order mine - so bloody excited!!!

thethoughtfox · 10/11/2016 18:52

They were sold out yesterday but have more today.

MrsRogerSterling · 10/11/2016 19:42

There was lot's of the calendars in my local M&S today. I ordered online before I went and when instore I asked an assistant would I have to return my calendar if I was to return the dress I ordered to qualify for it and she said "No"!!

VulvaInLaw · 10/11/2016 20:14

Our of interest I checked stock in my local stores and there appear to be hundreds around, one store in my nearest city has over 3000 in according to their online stock checker ConfusedGrin

Laska5772 · 10/11/2016 21:04

Loads in our store also.. its only a small M&S but they had shelves brimming with them in every department and customers didnt seem to really e btaking much notice of them .(well didnt see any in baskets or trolleys and the assistants were askin g at the till if you were intereseted in buying one ) .The assistant said they were getting more in later inthe week even (and as M&S had a run on them last year they had decided to produce plenty this year) .

I think M&S may have shot their bolt too early and that there could be a glut even..Anyway I decided that I didnt need one really, (as it was just a whim from reading MN that I couldnt really justify ) so i paid my £18.50 for the things Idid actually want as Christmas pressies and will see if they still have them (and if they go down in price) after Dec 1st..

Judydreamsofhorses · 10/11/2016 21:12

They had sales assistants out in the shopping mall (not the one M&S is actually in) here trying to flog them, and loads in store.

Laska5772 · 10/11/2016 21:24

i do think it is a good product though (and probably well worth the £35 even though most of the products of course will be sample size due to the nature of the product) , I am thinking that maybe its is just maybe worth holding back if you are not really, really keen on getting one.. . Reckon they have over produced because it went so well last year?

What do others think? Am i being daft holding back ? . I wont disappointed if i cant get one,, its a 'quite nice to have' .

Deux · 10/11/2016 22:15

I didn't even know about the calendar last year and stumbled upon it in my local store and they had loads of them and that was around end November last year. So you might be fine holding off.

Just keep an eye out and remember the shopping-frenzy hasn't started yet. I imagine lots will be sold over the weekend instore.

Iirc, out of stock was online first but still plenty in stores last year. I seem to remember a thread about it

Auntpodder · 10/11/2016 23:34

I overheard an M&S employee saying that they'd tripled the number of calendars for this year... At Marble Arch, they were being snapped up but lots were brought up from the stockroom...

RicStar · 11/11/2016 06:09

I ordered mine online - but it is "delayed" Really fed up would have got it I store - but didn't know if they would have what I wanted to buy with in the right sizes ... Bet it ends up cancelled.

Bubbinsmakesthree · 11/11/2016 10:02

I was in an M&S yesterday and the place was rotten with them, they were on every available surface!

Bubbinsmakesthree · 11/11/2016 10:03

And yes last year I think they were out of stock in about 24 hours online!

BumWad · 11/11/2016 11:34

I remember when people used to go nuts for the Boots soap and glory gift sets, last year they had boxes and boxes left at new year. Haven't seen any this year now!

I've got my advent calendar this year anyway. My local store had loads in too.

BusterGonad · 11/11/2016 15:35

I don't care that they have 100s, I'm just pleased I have one arriving soon, I've never had one before. The closest thing I've had is my sons Lego one! Grin

VulvaInLaw · 11/11/2016 15:59

buster I couldn't get a Lego calendar! Where did you get yours from?

TeaandSympathy4me · 11/11/2016 16:25

I work in the city (of London) the two main stores here (Leadenhall and Finsbury pavement) had truckloads of them arriving in the store..

BusterGonad · 11/11/2016 16:28

I'm sorry Vulva it was the year before last!

snowplop · 11/11/2016 16:47

I got one yesterday (from Fosse Park, Leicester) but I'm wondering if they'll go cheaper later on because so many stores/brands seem to be doing a beauty calendar this year and they'll have loads left over. There were hundreds of them, dotted all over the store on every available surface, but not so many in shoppers' baskets. Like MrsRogerSterling I also asked what would happen if I returned the clothes I'd bought; the assistant, quite snottily tbh, said it would be 'a matter of conscience' as to whether I returned the calendar too!

Theonlyoneiknow · 11/11/2016 17:11

Our store was stacked high with them amy staff holding them and trying to get people to buy them. I think they will have stacks left!

VulvaInLaw · 11/11/2016 20:04

Ah Buster I feel like a bad mom for not getting one this year even though DS doesn't even know they existGrin
