Best kiss-proof lipstick?

PineappleFwitters · 04/11/2016 10:14

So I have a date in a few days time, and my planned outfit requires red lipstick. But there is bound to be snogging, so I'm wondering what the best snog resistant lippy is. Anyone got any tried and tested ones? I was thinking maybe one of those which is like a marker pen.

Mac Ruby Woo. Stays in through thick and thin. I'm not sure about "kiss proof" but I'd bet 100/1 that it is!

BumbleNova · 04/11/2016 10:27

get one of the felt tip ones - the loreal ones are good and I love the red one. it doesnt budge and i know ruby woo does!

HarrietSchulenberg · 04/11/2016 10:32

Don't know about kiss proof but Maybelline 24 hour stays put through a bacon butty. Unless he's got exceptionally greasy lips it should stay put for you.

Mac Russian Red. With their Cherry lip liner.

Judydreamsofhorses · 04/11/2016 14:28

The Nars matte lip pencils are very good - Mysterious Red or Dragon Girl, maybe? - and also the MAC Retro Fabulous liquid lipsticks. Fashion Legacy is a really fab red.

FeedMeAndTellMeImPretty · 04/11/2016 14:36

I have this Maybelline Super Stay in red and it lasts really well.

It's like a sticky lipstick when you put the colour on, but there's a clear top coat which seals it and makes it really long lasting. It stays on throughout a meal and all day if I'm not snogging DP and it's actually quite tricky to get off, so still there the next morning!!

However, I would recommend checking it periodically if the middle wears off but the top of the bow is still there I end up looking like I have a red moustache according to DD!

Another vote for Maybelline 24 hrs. Does not move. Ever. Has to be scrubbed off.

I've found some Max Factor lipfinity felt tip pens on eBay so might order one of those. I went to Superdrug and there were no lipstick pens to be found!

ThePeoplesChamp · 04/11/2016 21:44

get one of the liquid ones that dries matte. Lime Crime, Smashbox Always On, Milani..

Thatwaslulu · 04/11/2016 21:46

Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet in Hot Pepper. I use Max Factor colour elixir lip liner in Red Rush as well.

SeussicaltheMusical · 05/11/2016 00:07

I came to say Max Factor lipfinity, I use them for work and they don't budge!

BusterGonad · 05/11/2016 04:45

I'm not a lover of the felt tip extra staying power pens, I find they go 'bitty' but that's just me I guess. The Bourjois ones are good, funny smell/taste but do the job and have lovely colours.

LBOCS2 · 05/11/2016 11:32

I like the MAC retro matte lipsticks. The more vibrant colours have fantastic staying power.

DoingTheBestICan · 05/11/2016 15:17

Have to second the Mac ruby woo, stays on for hours and doesn't feel drying on like the felt tip ones.

memyselfandaye · 05/11/2016 15:20

I was also going to say Maybelline 24 hr, it's bomb proof.

Pyrrha · 05/11/2016 17:05

Bourjois rouge edition velvet stays put on me. Not the soufflé ones though.

Mamabird3 · 05/11/2016 19:23

Superdrug mua luxe lip laquer is brilliant and only £3. I have lots of different colours and they last for hours!

Wigglemunch · 05/11/2016 21:06

Another vote for maybelline 24hr here, they are everything proof! Some colours last better than others but they really are amazing, prune plaisir and red alert are my favourite shades!

PolaDeVeboise · 05/11/2016 21:32

DEFINITELY Max Factor Lipfinity. I have used them for years and they DO NOT budge. Really can't imagine having to re-apply my lippy during the day, what a pain in the arse!

DesignedForLife · 05/11/2016 22:16

Maybelline 24 hour. Amazing stuff.

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 05/11/2016 22:28

I just use Lipcote on top of whichever lipstick I'm wearing - although not helpful if you don't already have a red you like!

blueamberuk · 05/11/2016 22:47

All the Lipstick Queen range have great staying power www.spacenk.com/uk/en_GB/brands/l/lipstick-queen/sinner-90-percent-pigment-UK300001130.html

CheddarGorgeous · 06/11/2016 06:01

What did I do wrong with Max Factor Lipfinity? I ended up throwing it away in disgust. It came off immediately in patches when I tried it.

BusterGonad · 06/11/2016 06:08

Cheddar I feel your pain, I didn't like it either. I find the felt tip style and lip stains of that type flake of, go gritty and bitty and generally look like your lip skin is peeling off. I'd rather use a lipstick and top up after lunch.

FallowfieldHillbilly · 06/11/2016 11:11

Have a look at the Nyx range in Boots. I have the Transylvania one (deep plum) and it was still there at bed time and needed serious scrubbing to remove. Maybe the reds are just as hardy?
