I will start... Hush Tara dress in claret/burgundy. The colou was just blah on me & the skirt wayyyyyy too tight & the top drowned me. So odd, & I so badly wanted to love it.

Also ordered some tulle skirts online (Needle & Thread etc) as I need something For Xmas parties and for a swanky ball. Suffice to say I do not suit tulle. I looked utterly ridiculous. Blush

The last time I wore a shawl, I picked it up and wrapped it round me as DP and I headed out. DP stopped dead at the back door, looked at me for a minute, and then said 'oh, are we taking blankets with us? Wait there then while I run upstairs and grab the duvet to wrap round myself'

acurtis1234 · 31/10/2016 15:42

anotherguiltymum don't Boden have a 3 month refund policy and credit for up to a year from purchase - even including worn clothes? Worth asking them.

PNGirl All Saints bikers sell really well on eBay, do it now before they start discounting their current stock in the Black Friday/Cyber Monday period. Even taking off for fees, I reckon you'll make £200 back to put towards something you really love?

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 31/10/2016 16:19

Oh are we talking blankets? haha Halloween Grin

That reminds me of the time when I picked up my son from nursery in a new sort of drapey coat and I'd also had my hair cut and when he saw it he started crying and saying "I don't like it. It doesn't look nice" in front of everyone Blush

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 31/10/2016 16:26

*taking blankets

chrispenrallt1 · 31/10/2016 17:03

Princess I'm still laughing about the frozen turkey and Iceland !

VeryPunny · 31/10/2016 17:16

PMSL at GinandOnItGrin

I have just sent back two "relaxed fit" items to Boden - I didn't realise that relaxed fit was code for shapeless bags. Have ordered the Rowena dress a size smaller but the contrast cashmere jumper is Not Coming Back.

Lanaorana1 · 31/10/2016 17:39

Jonsnow your disaster may be my triumph - have PMed you.

I ache for relaxed fit, brilliant when you have put on weight very fast and are trying to lose it. It can be a little unflattering to those without that problem though.

JohnCheese · 31/10/2016 19:40

Gosh I feel for you all. All these mistakes. Do you never learn??? Hmm?

NO!!! My wardrobe has plenty of flipping mistakes!Grin Last one was summer. (Only because I've bought damn all since). Bought one of those gorgeous Ukrainian embroidered blouse things. Looks like a heap on me. Oh so awfulz But too beautiful to return. Hmm And yet there it sits, unloved in the wardrobe.

Kept the pirate shoes, if anyone remembers. They could be a mistake. But I wear them so I'll class them as a non-mistake.

AgathaMystery · 31/10/2016 20:00

Blanket scarves... Grin I love them too. They do not love me!

Forgot to add that I bought the Tesco leopard coat recently. Loved it - DH hated it, as did my best friend. Whilst I was on holiday last week she RETURNED IT!!! That's how bad it looked apparently HmmBlush

I tried the Tara dress in black and it was a disaster on me. Seemed to be both too tight and too baggy simultaneously. Awful.

Floisme · 31/10/2016 22:18

I loved the pirate shoe thread John. It made me happy Grin

FlorisApple · 31/10/2016 22:29

Haha, ILostIt that reminds me of the time I put on my brand new luxurious dressing gown one evening and DD said: "Mummy, why are you dressed as a teddy bear?!"

ShyOyster · 31/10/2016 22:34

I got a gorgeous poncho type thingy from tkmaxx
It's grey, has some cashmere in it and feels so soft and beautiful.
Wearing it, I look like a tent with a head on it. Awful.

Nearlyadoctor · 31/10/2016 22:40

So glad I resisted the jacket Flo, was sorely tempted but after your original post on another thread regarding it being a busy i rethought. Love my Hush Tina and Tara dresses though.

Floisme · 01/11/2016 07:04

I still think it's a good buy for someone Nearly - just not for me. I was really surprised cos I'd always fancied a biker and had just assumed it would suit me.

ThisIsNotARealAvo · 01/11/2016 07:09

Lovely wool midi skirt from warehouse. I looked Amish as I do in everything long so it went back. Another fail was the Tara dress as pp have said. Massive top and tiny skirt. I thought that would be good as I am top heavy but no.

margaritasbythesea · 01/11/2016 07:26

I'm very happy everyone else looks bad in blanket scarves too. Smile

BabyGanoush · 01/11/2016 07:38

I want a massive blanket scarf

At 6 ft I can surely pull it off

I keep thinking that, and am always wrong. Grin

As to the ruched skirt frenzy on here, I followed like a lemming and look stupid in mine. And what sort of top do you wear with it anyway?!

GinAndOnIt · 01/11/2016 07:55

Do you think you need to be bottom heavy for the Tara dress to work? So then the loose fitted top sort of evens out your shape? I can imagine if you're top heavy, it just making you look like an upside down triangle IYSWIM. (Mainly being hopefully as I am bottom heavy!)

AgathaMystery · 01/11/2016 08:03

Yes! That might be it. I am a totally balanced hourglass so it just looked beyond awful Grin

OP posts:
GinAndOnIt · 01/11/2016 08:06

I'm kind of hoping it will broaden out my silly narrow shoulders, but I suppose there's the danger it will just make all of me look bigger. You can sod off with your perfect hourglass Grin

GinAndOnIt · 01/11/2016 08:07

Nearly which of the Tina and Tara do you prefer? And how tall are you?

choppolata · 01/11/2016 08:09

I found that the top half was really big gin, like 2 sizes bigger than it should have been, even given the style of the dress. I didn't like the way the fabric hung - but then the fabrics seem to be different for each colour, so you might find it works for you.

margaritasbythesea · 01/11/2016 09:09

Really BabyG? What about with heels? I always put blanket failure down to being shortish and having boobs. Maybe it's just the boobs?

GinAndOnIt · 01/11/2016 10:13

Oh really chop? Hmm. I might try it a size down then when I order. I really hope it looks nice!
