Midlife crisis leopard print coat

marthamydear · 16/10/2016 21:40

I've only ordered and kept and worn my new Leopard Print coat.

It's wonderful. I am definitely going through a mid life crisis. It's from Zara, it's lovely to stroke and four people have complimented me on it.

One stranger in a shop today said how lovely it is and where it was from.

My DH loves it too (which I thought was funny)

I am channelling Bette Lynch - but it looks quite punky too when worn with Docs.

Quite a statement piece for me!

Just had to share this info with you x

You must link.

Buttwing · 16/10/2016 21:42

I have one I'm 38 (for another couple of weeks!) I love it. I wear it all the time and lots of people ask about it, I'm channeling my inner Kate MossGrin

Pestilence13610 · 16/10/2016 21:46

My MIL gave me a leopard print coat, she had it for her midlife crisis, then me for mine. Big dark shades and embrace your alter ego Grin

Theonlyoneiknow · 16/10/2016 21:55

I am the same! I now have two! Most recent is from Tesco £30 and I love it, dark animal print whereas my other (kids boden) is velvety leopard print!

marthamydear · 16/10/2016 22:04

They're brilliant aren't they?

I thought i'd look a bit over dressed, but I oddly don't feel mutton. I'm 43.

If you are thinking about going for it. Do it x

marthamydear · 16/10/2016 22:10

I also bought the Tesco boyfriend coat.

Which I wear, it's a smarter version and is a very good fit. But not as out there as the new Zara one.

My Christmas party coat sorted x

Love love love it!! DH has been asking what I want for Christmas and I've always been partial to a bit of leopard print...

neveradullmoment99 · 16/10/2016 22:13

I love the tesco one. I saw it today and everytime i see it, I am drawn to it but i have loads of coats.

HappyGirlNow · 16/10/2016 22:17

martha I'm also 43 and I also have that jacket - lovely eh Grin but must admit I've worried a little whether I'm too old for it - I'm just planning on keeping the rest of the outfit simple when I get around to wearing it..

1frenchfoodie · 16/10/2016 22:20

That zara one is lovely. Skint now (just finishing 7 months of maternity leave) but already wondering how to trim food bill to save up for it!

Gardenbirdy · 16/10/2016 22:21

You can NEVER have too many coats!

cardoon · 16/10/2016 22:23

Love it! What's the sizing like on the Zara one?

neveradullmoment99 · 16/10/2016 22:25

Gardenbirdy I have a fur one, 2 boden, 1 mango, 1 linea check coat. Think my dh may go mad. Enough room for the tesco one? Well maybe just as well its sold out!

neveradullmoment99 · 16/10/2016 22:26

Oh and a boden duffle coat crikey!!!!

HappyGirlNow · 16/10/2016 22:28

cardoon I'm a 10 on top, currently large 12 on bottom. I ordered a S and M. Both were fine. I don't like a lot of material though so kept the S.

gettingitwrongputtingitright · 16/10/2016 22:28

Love it.

Lucked · 16/10/2016 22:30

Oh I have a Zara one from about 8 years ago which I couldn't part with and I am someone who never keeps anything that I am not using. I knew it would come back in! The disappointment will be when I realise it no longer fits.

Yours is lovel, slouchier than mine which is a similar length but structured.

I'm 39, glad I am not too old.

gunting · 16/10/2016 22:31

I need it!

FranklyMeDeer · 16/10/2016 22:34

Love it OP

For my midlife crisis had several ear piercings and dyed my hair purple. Midlife crises are fun.

Judydreamsofhorses · 16/10/2016 22:36

I have an ASOS leopard print faux fur one from a few years back - it's a bit longer than that Zara one so covers a skirt - and can't wait to get it out again this year. I also bought a crombie style grey leopard print one from Topshop. I am a firm believer in the never too many coats philosophy - a good coat can make an outfit, and unlike summer things you know you will get a decent cost per wear from them.

My coat-drobe currently has:

Three faux furs - Warehouse, Whistles and ASOS
One faux fur jacket - Miss Selfridge
Leopard Topshop crombie
Long grey wool coat - New Look
Orange pea coat - River Island
Navy pea coat - ASOS
Parka - Whistles
Tweedy Whistles number
Various leather jackets which I like layered up with a big blanket scarf at this time of year

Some of these are over ten years old and still going strong.

We have a big walk-in coat cupboard which has less room to walk into year on year.

marthamydear · 16/10/2016 22:38

I've got size Small for Zara coat . 5foot 5 inches. 9.2 stone.

I got size 8 Tesco one.

£100 for two coats - not bad x

Love the Zara one.
Bought a grey leopard print coat last year. Never wore it. Not even once. Blush But I'ma gittin' it out now! Def wearing it this year.

AmberNectarine · 16/10/2016 22:54

I have the same ASOS leopard and Whistles teddy ones as you I think Judy.

Also recently acquired a grey leopard Maje number and have a grey Warehouse Faux fur from a couple of years ago.

Love all of them - can't be doing with 'practical' coats.

cardoon · 17/10/2016 11:04

Martha would you say the arms were slim or loose?
