Would that be OK?

Must try to avoid a thread switch on a Friday night Grin

Oh no NU re the floor, but Karndean is the business. We have it in our kitchen - so warm and lovely.
Hot tub experience was probably after a Halloween party?!

DS made it through the day - so proud of him. Exhausted again now though.

magimedi · 31/10/2016 16:57

Well done BTM's DS.

Crem???? How are you?

What a pain, NUF, but better before the karndean.

I have had my fist productive day for about 3 weeks. Went to town, organised new specs & bought a couple of birthday presents. Ordered two jumpers from Woolovers (free postage today) & went for a (short) walk along the seafront. It was warm enough to be in jeans, T shirt & sandals - can't believe it's November tomorrow!

Too tired to cook so sausage, beanz 'n' chips for supper. Yum!

Stropperella · 31/10/2016 16:57

Yay for your ds, BTM! I thought of him often today.
Bummer about the underfloor mess, NU.

Inset day for middle schools and first schools here. Have had a friend of ds's and his younger brother since 8am today. All three have just gone round to my nice neighbour's for tea (so she has 5 boys there now Grin) and then they are off doing a short trick or treat session in the vicinity of another friend's house. I think I am excused that bit, thank God.

herbaceous · 31/10/2016 17:27

Bloody hell. What a day.

Racing about dressing DS as a roman. Raced to college. Taught class. Spent two hours trying to redress all admin failings in time for Osted arrival tomorrow. Dashed to Primark. Dashed to pick up DS from school, who had to do his sports club dressed as a roman as I hadn't realised it started today so he had no PE kit. Dashed to dentist. Dashed home. Now to change DS and me into spooky garb for halloween party and ToTing.

Should go to choir at 7.30, but think I may lie down instead.

Rosebag · 31/10/2016 17:49

Naught wrong with sausage, beens and chips MM !

NU That sounds tiresome but better to have discovered it and have it dealt with, before the new flooring.

He's a trooper Tilly Smile Star

Gosh Herbs!!! I'm all over trick or treating. I have the bag of sweets but the door...no one yet. DD is terrified...she says killer clowns are masquerading as trick or treaters and she doesn't want us to answer the door... Hmm

Lalsy · 31/10/2016 18:20

Hiding from trick or treaters as have forgotten to stock up. Charging around day here, with annoying bit of work slithering in and out of my grasp and people cheerfully saying they will do everything and in fact doing nothing except confusing me.

Herbs, lie down, quick!

BTM, well done to ds. Rooting for him, and Rudy's and Beachy's lads.

Glad you feeling better Magi.

And NU, we have had that happen. Sooo much better to find out before it ruins the new floor from below. But what a pain.

addle · 31/10/2016 18:21

Great news btm and mm!

Dj holding the fort fr T o t until I get home. We do it strictly from 6-8 for the little ones then turn out all the lights and retire to the back of the house.

Crem, Beachy, how are you?

bigTillyMint · 31/10/2016 19:13

We had to dash out for supplies, but DD carved a fab pumpkin. Have had a few TorTers including the cutest little 2yo!

hattymattie · 31/10/2016 19:23

Have had a lovely day - DS sent us out as he had friends round - otherwise we'd have stayed around the house. Walked from Bastille to Arc de Triomphe with nice meal on the way. Beautiful weather. Finished off with The Girl on the Train - very slow to start with but got going nicely at the end. We must go and do stuff more often. Am now at home with beer.

BTM - well done to DS.

Crem and Beachy - hope things are OK.

Herbs - DS looks fab as Ceasar.

wordassociationfootball · 31/10/2016 19:27

BTM loved your message to Addle's dd.

Crem really so very sorry about puss being so I'll. Remember you losing other precious mog, not long ago at all.

Much t or t ing here dd2 is out and dd1 being humbug and doing music. Delivered my latest novel draft to agent today. Shoulders and neck in v bad state but v pleased to meet deadline.

NU - bum re leak.

addle · 31/10/2016 19:35

WAF - well done!! how long do you expect it to be before you hear anything?

MrsSchadenfreude · 31/10/2016 19:36

My vacuum cleaner arrives this week. Should I leave the clumps of cat hair everywhere so that the nice, posh chap who is demonstrating can show me how marvellous it is at sucking up cat hair?

Crem, I am so sorry about your puss. When our last puss became ill, the vet said to us, we would know when the time had come to have her put to sleep, and he was right. It was very peaceful when the time came, I held and stroked her and she purred, which she hadn't done for a long time. She was 22.

herbaceous · 31/10/2016 19:39

Riotous TorTing, with hoards of people roaming the streets. I must say it is good fun. A few years ago I was all 'bah humbug American nonsense' about it all, but am well into it. Unlike DP, natch.

Kicked off a bit on the corner of our street, with some Youths lighting fireworks and holding them in their hands to fire at their chums. What larks. I feared for DS's highly flammable fancy dress outfit.

No choir for me. Knackered. Want to just stare at the telly and play Mini Metro on my iPad.

Lalsy · 31/10/2016 20:01

I loved your message too, BTM.

Yaaay WAF.

MrsS, YES! He can then quote you in his advertising.

Lalsy · 31/10/2016 20:08

BTW, for any other crepeys with awkward feet look at these. I have them in black and got these slightly glittery brown numbers half price. Really comfy and supportive in a big pants sort of way. Great if you have to be on your feet for hours looking sort of professional.

MrsSchadenfreude · 31/10/2016 20:10

Are you trying to tempt me away from my Hotters, Lalsy?
GrinGrin

Lalsy · 31/10/2016 20:13

Although the thought of wearing them may not cheer addle's dd...MN says they are very popular with teachers!

Lalsy · 31/10/2016 20:14

Comfort insoles at dawn, MrsS? Grin. Come on then, I've shown you mine.....if you think you're hard enough.

IDismyname · 31/10/2016 22:32

Lalsy I do like the look of those shoes. I have a lovely red suede pair of slip ons with Crepey soles. So comfy to wear!

However, what does one wear with these? I'm a trousers girl, so don't want to end up looking too butch.

Collymollypuff · 31/10/2016 22:43

I have those in glittery, Lalsy. Smile

Lalsy · 31/10/2016 22:49

Cocoa, I have been wearing skirts and jeans with them - not ideal perhaps but I don't care as I have found a pair of shoes that are definitely not trainers and don't hurt my feet.

Oooh Molly, what do you wear with them?

Collymollypuff · 31/10/2016 23:02

Only jeans thus far. Cocoa, I've been meaning to ask about the place in Austria for sorting out dodgy tummies - can I PM you for more info please?

Auriga · 31/10/2016 23:12

Hi WAF. Well done on deadline. Me too. Pressed 'send' on Great Big Thing. Pleased. Watched The Good Wife to celebrate.

DD & friends & staff all dressed up for choir - big fun & many frolics. Great pictures on Instagram etc.

We missed the T or T ers because, for the first time in years, no decorations in porch (all v decorous round here). But yesterday allI I was good for was a nap. My counter informs me I did an impressive 142 steps all day, which may be an all-time low. But by God I earned it 😂

CointreauVersial · 01/11/2016 00:42

Well done to deadline-meeters, and pat on the back to BTM's DS.

I had a productive day too, and got loads done at work. Best of all, DH came home early and had done the next coat of paint in DD2's bedroom before I got home (oh, shame, I was going to do it).

Just the right amount of cute Trick or Treaters this evening; I didn't go as far as dressing up, but I did answer the door wearing a giant false witch nose. I'm not sure all of them noticed; they only had eyes for the bowl of goodies.

CointreauVersial · 01/11/2016 00:44

NU - forgot to say - see if you can make a claim on your buildings insurance. We had a longstanding leak under our sink, only discovered when the joists rotted through and the corner of the room began to sag. Because it wasn't something we could have known about, or prevented with maintenance, it was covered, and we were able to claim for a complete floor replacement.
