Are uggs still acceptable?

I know it's not 2008 any more, are uggs still a thing?

Expecting my first baby and my fat preg-legs don't fit in any of my calf/ knee boots.

Uggs look comfy, would fit and easy to get on/ off with a little one.

Should I get some? And if so what colour? I wear a lot of navy and grey...

In the house / to local shop. Not v comfortable to actually walk in, as in being out & about. I have brown ones.

mouldycheesefan · 13/10/2016 15:21

The worlds most ugly boot. But you are pg so you have a free pass to wear whatever you find comfortable.

ElspethFlashman · 13/10/2016 15:22

Don't get grey, I had a pair and they were too hard to keep clean. Black is the best.

They are very flat so not good for long distances but for pottering about they're divine.

Tbh I don't care if they're in or not, you'll have to prise mine from my cold dead feet.

(Though will probably switch to EMUs next year as they're a lot cheaper and just the same)

WishUponAStar88 · 13/10/2016 15:22

I've just got mine out today! Lovely and warm/ comfortable. Wouldn't say they're stylish but I don't really care 90% of the time when just nipping to the shops etc (also pregnant and running around after a toddler so comfort trumps everything else 😂)

indecisivedoctor · 13/10/2016 15:22

Ooh I was wondering this recently too Bristol. I'm 6m preg, huge and inflexible. I thought about the uggs festering away under the stairs as I struggled to heave my Chelsea boots on..

HotNatured · 13/10/2016 15:38

They've had their day. Having said that I will wear my sturdy kensingtons après ski as they are snowproofed and comfy.

As someone up thread said fine for slobbing around and to pop to the shops

BristolLFR · 13/10/2016 15:41

Recommendations on alternatives?

Something warm, non restrictive and more socially acceptable to be out and about in?

Where they ever?!

they call them slippers in Australia

PatMullins · 13/10/2016 15:45

I wear mine!

whitless · 13/10/2016 15:48

Still buying new ones every year! They are the comfiest shoes I've ever owned.. will Never give mine up!

mouldycheesefan · 13/10/2016 15:50

They are not waterproof though are they? So not very practical. They make everyone's legs look like tree trunks. So unflattering.

PuppyMonkey · 13/10/2016 15:52

I bought some Ugg boots last year that are not the usual furry beige "Shrek feet" things but just nice normal leather ankle boots - in black. They will definitely be back in for me this winter.

I've had mine on today. Short brown ones. I love them. They keep me warm Grin

Ilovehedgehogs · 13/10/2016 15:54

I have some uggs ankle boots that are waterproof, they are so comfortable. I wear them for dog walking, I do wear a cagoule though so probs not the best advert for fashion.

MadameCholetsDirtySecret · 13/10/2016 15:54

I have them but only as slippers. I couldn't go out in them, but I'm not pregnant. You wear what is comfortable OP.

PuppyMonkey · 13/10/2016 16:00

My Uggs are like this. Apologies for photo skills.

Are uggs still acceptable?
WalterWhitesNipple · 13/10/2016 16:00

They are the ugliest shoes ever created.

However they feel like marshmallows on my feet so I couldn't care less.

gonetoseeamanaboutadog · 13/10/2016 16:02

So what is a fashionable alternative? Please Smile

CalmItKermitt · 13/10/2016 16:05

I dont care if they're in or out.

I got mine out for the winter the other day and slipped my feet into their snuggly warmth with a blissful sigh.

Dizzybintess · 13/10/2016 16:08
