Do you think there comes a point where jeans just don't work ?

I'm a size 10/12 sick to death of buying jeans in all shapes and sizes that don't do anything for me.
Am goi g to try leather leggings which frankly I'll be buried in at that price if they are keepers, but I think me and jeans are done

Another fan of Sainsbury's jeans here. At only £14 a pair, I've bought black and dark denim, black in 2 sizes and about to get a 2nd blue pair in next size down. Love the fact that the Long is the perfect length.

Yes, I suppose they go slightly baggy after a couple of days wear but I also think it's because I'm between two sizes at the moment. I just can't justify spending £60 on jeans or pretty much any item of clothing except shoes.

I think you get what you pay for.
I have a chubby difficult figure and buy Lucky Brand, NYDJ and Tommy Hilfiger. All are flattering and slimming.
Usually bought on hols in the US to save cash.

I got some top shop Leigh jeans in the sale and I love them. So comfy and look good too

I just cannot wear them. Size 6/8 but still manage to look like a lump in jeans due to shortish legs and big thighs. I do better in better in high waists and skirts. Angry

I was going to recommend the madewell jeans that have been linked to upthread.

They fit really nicely, don't wriggle down every five minutes and don't bag out at the knees or sag around the arse.
The additition of Lycra has ruined jeans, it just makes them baggy.

I have the madewells in black and a pair in an olive green colour. Blue jeans are frowned upon in my workplace but you can get away with coloured ones, they are perfect. Lovely length and I'm quite tall.

I've recently discovered Crew Clothing jeans. Not cheap but great quality, hold their shape well, highish waist, flattering. I bought a straight pair and a skinny pair.

Topshop Jamie are good. I have two pairs, blue and black, and both fit really well (I'm a 26 waist, 32 leg) and don't go saggy. I've had a few people compliment them and ask where they're from.

I'm hourglass , I always buy jeans that I can't breathe in when new . They always give And then they don't bag . I get on well with most jeans though and I have a big bum and size 10 .. I've embarrassed my curves though .

I came on to echo the non-lycra jeans, and as this is making a comeback it will no longer be old school vintage soon! But also, NYDJ is fabulous for the stretchy fit that stays in place and never ever sags.

Not worn jeans, apart from very occasionally, since having DC. My 'go to' wardrobe now mainly consists of black legging and dresses or tunics. Not missed them!

mrssnodge · 14/10/2016 11:35

Back to the leather leggings- New Look have some fab ones in, thick waistband, dull not shiny 'pleather'- only £17.99 but the legs look so long!
Im 5- 7 and they were all bunched up at the bottom and looked wrong- don't think they were different lengths.

CruCru · 14/10/2016 13:27

I have some burgundy pleather ones from Next which look okay.

Statelychangers · 14/10/2016 13:41

Just bought these and they are surprisingly flattering. I'm trying not to think of the price.

I like Topsjop Jamie but find they don't come high enough in the waist for me. These are the best jeans I have ever bought. Proper high rise, soft and comfy yet don't fall down or bag out, and really skinny at the ankle. They fit really well as my hips are a bit bigger proportionally than they should be for my waist size so these are fab for fellow pears. I have two pairs so far!!!!
