Any newcastle ladies about - need advice

Hi ladies

Well I'm seriously stuck, due to I'll health my best friends wedding has been bought forward to around Christmas.

Hen do is now in November in Newcastle. It's a 3 day afair, Saturday is fancy dress - sorted, Sunday is massages and sport day.

Friday we are going clubbing (gulp), hitting a few different places in toon. I have NO idea what to wear!!!

Not been clubbing in an age, and don't know newcastle at all. I want to look glamwrous but also like I actually belong and not stick out like a sore thumb. Also don't want to let my friend down as she has had a miserable time of it recently.

I'm happy to buy stuff.

Help please.

Don't wear a coat. It depends where you are going clubbing. If you are going to the bigg market, wear as little as possible, do you know where abouts in the city you are going to?

I believe we are going to
Tiger tiger / the gate.
Destiny and possibly the powerhouse.

Why in the name of all that's wholely they count pick 1 place I don't know.

You will only stick out if you wear a coat. Otherwise I would just wear what you would wear of you were going out anywhere else. (Then take something off and off you go)

I wear a jacket when I go out there. I don't think it's any different from anywhere else just a nice dress and heels should do it!

The gate is miles away from the powerhouse. Gate is young ish and trendy. Powerhouse, real range of styles and no one will give a monkey's what u wear there.

Anything goes. Some people will be flashing as much flesh as possible. Some ladies may be in a nice vest & light blazer and skinny jeans and heels. I'm mid thirties and would likely go with a wiggle Dita Von Teese style dress and heels.

I think just do legs OR boobs and you can't go far wrong.

Wear what you would wear to go out anywhere else. Feel free to wear a jacket. Most people do despite the reputation. Tiger tiger wouldn't be my first choice mind. More likely to be on Grey street or down on the Quayside. But that's just me. Have a great night.

The thing is I don't work / live in the UK full time when we go clubbing over hear it's very posh.

Would something like skinny leather jeans, sky high heels (love my heels) and some sort of top work?

I would prefer jeans to a dress for the Friday.

Can I really not wear a coat? Won't it be cold in novemeber? I believe there is a limo of something booked to ferry is about so I suppose it out of car into club so no I don't suppose I need a coat.

What about a bag?

I wear a coat in Newcastle, well like a blazer or a little leather jacket or similar. Can't remember what I wore last time I went but I will have had a coat on as it was October.

The thing is I'm often being told off by my friends for the way I dress. I've got huge boobs, tiny waist and decent legs and im tall so I often go for body con or wiggle dresses. My Nick name is Jessica rabbit (grrr) but I just get fed up of all the complaining. I work really hard at the gym live on a really boring diet and yes I'm lucky to have a good starting point. Id just like to fade into the background. Since I know everyone will be bitching about fancy dress night - I'm actually going as Jessica rabbit (the bride knows it was her suggestion)!

Ok transport is good. What you have described sounds fine. Honestly no one will care. I am with everyone else Tiger Tiger would not be my first choice. Does your mate come from Newcastle. Tiger Tiger and powerhouse are very different.

Of course you can wear a coat! It's Newcastle in November fgs, you're obviously not going to go clubbing in a down parka but a smart jacket is fine. You're bound to end up queuing outside at some point & blue lips are not a good look

Tiger tiger is not the brides choice but one of the other bridesmaid (who lives in newcastle) has gone on and on and I think the bride has just decided to give in and go to shut her up. If anyone has some better suggestions i will begin a mutany as I don't think anyone else wants to go to tiger tiger.

The bride wants to go destiny - one of her fav djs is doing a set. And she's been to power house before (she went to uni in newcastle)

Would a bike jacket be ok or too much leather?

No fancy dress I Saturday. Oh please please please tell me they don't allow hen dos?

This is what I'm wear to the fancy dress night except in red, all finished off whith red seamed stockings. Sod it if they are going to call me it anyway I may as Well go with it!

If it were me, I'd probably start in The Botanist, then head down Grey street and end up in the quayside.

I gather Tiger tiger's been refurbished since I was last there so it may be less gruesome now.

Hoochie coochie on pilgrim street plays jazz and soul sets. Dacantus on grey street has a great range of gins and gives little bits of tapas just in case you need to soak up the alcohol. In the quayside there's a good range of cocktail bars.

Depends what type of hen do the bride is looking for. Is it dress up in bin liners plastered with l-plates or a slightly more sophisticated affair?

No it's not binliners - thankfully.

Bride is a bit more sophisticated than that. I mean none of us are 'kids' any more.

I'll message the bride and make the suggestion. Anywhere else that would be worth a look?

I don't want to go to tiger tiger - nor Do most of the hens. It's just one of them with a very big mouth.

Right I've suggested a few of your recommendations which currently seem very popular with almost everyone so fingers crossed we can stage a mutany and just not go to tiger tiger.

Personally I've suggest we just drop that particular hen off at tiger tiger and go on somewhere else (I'm so naughty) but honestly she is pretty much ruining things for the bride at the mo.

Give the reason the wedding has been moved forward the bride is not really up to sticking up for herself, so I think the rest of us should stick up for her. It's her hen do after all.
