Any newcastle ladies about - need advice

Hi ladies

Well I'm seriously stuck, due to I'll health my best friends wedding has been bought forward to around Christmas.

Hen do is now in November in Newcastle. It's a 3 day afair, Saturday is fancy dress - sorted, Sunday is massages and sport day.

Friday we are going clubbing (gulp), hitting a few different places in toon. I have NO idea what to wear!!!

Not been clubbing in an age, and don't know newcastle at all. I want to look glamwrous but also like I actually belong and not stick out like a sore thumb. Also don't want to let my friend down as she has had a miserable time of it recently.

I'm happy to buy stuff.

Help please.

I totally agree with Dazzling. You'll have to book for The Botanist though. I've been up that lift many a time without booking and came straight back down as they were full!

Then move down the street to Pleased to Meet you, Harry's Bar, Decantus. I like a bit dance in Perdu too.

Me and H came out of the pictures after midnight at The Gate the other Saturday night and we had to be escorted to a taxi. It was bloody wild!! You couldn't hear a Geordie accent, it was all visiting stag and hen dos along with new students.

Turquoisetamborine · 10/10/2016 21:45

My Lynch is cool too. Also the bar next door whose name escapes me.

NapQueen · 10/10/2016 21:48

Tiger Tiger and the Gate are just awful imo.

Botanist
Pleased to Meet You
Down to the quayside for Lovellos, Newcastle Arms and Tiger Hornsby

NapQueen · 10/10/2016 21:49

Oh yes - or do what's apparently called "The Diamond Strip" - Revolution, Mr Lunch and the other bars on that row.

fruitatthebottom · 10/10/2016 21:50

Turquoise it's 'As you like it'. Mr lynch is great for cheesy bands who play all the great 90's classics, have had loads of great nights there.

NapQueen · 10/10/2016 21:50

I'm a local so no coat for me; but I'm not a dress wearer so I wear dark navy skinny jeans, high heels, a floaty black or blue chemise type top and a little grey jacket with a clutch bag.

Tbh you can't look bad in Newcastle- there is always someone dressed crazy.

nonameavaliable · 10/10/2016 22:32

I'm that's it I am NOT GOING TO GATE OR TIGER TIGER. I'm putting my foot down, Don't care if that puts the hens nose out. That soujds about as far away as possible from the brides idea of what she wanted. She is getting what she wants as far as i am concerned .

I'll phone the botanist and see if we can book - everyone seems very keen. So thank you for all the wonderful suggestions.

Oh and the tiger tiger hen has got a right hump and is threatening not to come. Oh no what a shame Wink. Sorry I'm not normally like this but you should read some of her messages.

Is it this Saturday for the hen? The Botanist does good cocktail lessons too. Jamies Italian is underneath it if you want somewhere central to eat.

KenDoddsDadsDog · 15/10/2016 07:51

Let us know how you get on !

dazzlingdeborahrose · 17/10/2016 20:48

Just catching up with this thread again. Was the hen night last Saturday. Do send an update. Hope you all had a great night.

nonameavaliable · 18/10/2016 00:07

No sorry guys it's next month. I promise to post an update - afterwards.

What do you think of this

Worn with black skinny jeans and if i can find one that I like a red top???

I don't want to go all black but I'm really struggling to find a top that I like grrrr. These bits I already own and love.

I think that jacket is lovely and the outfit sounds great. Just be aware that Grey Street is quite a steep hill and a lot of the side streets of it have cobbles so choose footwear carefully Wink

nonameavaliable · 18/10/2016 19:48

Thanks it was a real investment piece. It really nips my waist in and just fits perfectly. It's was worth it if you work it out as cost per wear (yes I'm still trying to justify it to myself lol)

I'm really good in high heels and don't plan on drinking much anyway (I'm really mother hen and tend to keep fairly sober just in case besides I can have a great time on oj) but thanks for the heads up.

I'm really struggling to find a top though.

I've got a red top that looks lovely (another investment piece - bought for a very posh wedding) but I think it is probably very ott.

Anything that makes bra wearing impossible is out Sad

I just can't seem to find much red stuff for sale atm. Thought id try a zebra print top and red bag but can't find a zebra print top either Sad this is getting to be really difficult.

Great outfit! Too good for Tiger Tiger Wink but perfect for Botanist, and other suggestions! Maybe a black top with a few red accessories/nail varnish? lipstick? I can't think I've seen any decent red tops in the shops recently!

nonameavaliable · 19/10/2016 20:52

I know I'm really struggling to find a red top I have 3 and a friend has offered me one. But I think they might all be wrong. Sad

1 I love but I am sure is far to dressy
1 I wear to work occasionally
1 doenst feel right
1 has a pattern and I don't want it to clash with the zebra print.

Off to look at black tops Blush

dazzlingdeborahrose · 19/10/2016 21:38

Oh Tinky had it I think. Good strong red accessories will really pop against the black.

nonameavaliable · 19/10/2016 21:45

Could someone find me a black top then??

I'm starting to feel really hopeless. I can't find anything that I like that looks right.

Would this work black sequined top

I can definately do a red lip, red nails.

I have seen a red cuff bracelet and some big red earrings.

Would that work????

OP posts:
dazzlingdeborahrose · 27/10/2016 22:03

I think the black sequinned top is gorgeous. It could work. It would definitely lift the black jeans and leather jacket combo. Sorry for not replying sooner. Been out of wifi range for a few days.
Get the top!
