I don't go out very often but now I've got to go out in London to the roof top gardens.

I've googled and it looks cold it's going to be November can I wear black pumps with skinny jeans and a strappy top and a big coat

I'm nearly 40 and medium build and height.

I'm going to have to do more with my hair than a messy bun aren't I?

I'm only 5'8" and DH is well over 6' so I don't think the extra height hurts. I always wear heels on a night out (not in the UK). I wouldn't feel dressed up without them, and I love to feel like I've made an effort on a night out.

Lorelei76 · 07/10/2016 06:21

I don't do dressy or heels, been there loads
It's mostly indoors, I have seen the outside bit closed in wintry weather.
Just enjoy, it's nice there.

Im just over 5foot and I don't always wear heels, sod it.

Londoner born and bred here and I always wear heels on a night out! Usually in 10cm heels for work too!

Statelychangers · 07/10/2016 09:57

I see so many women walk badly in heels - it's a combination of comedy and horror but it doesn't look good.

ladyformation · 07/10/2016 13:53

Always wear heels on a night out - but then again I wear heels at work and at the supermarket and...basically any time I'm not exercising.

Your outfit sounds great and agree with PPs that if it's Kensington Roof Gardens it's mostly indoors anyway.

I'm a London heels bird. Work and nights, not weekends.

Buttonmoonb4tea · 09/10/2016 07:50

I wear heels, although they have become smaller over the years. Agree that outfits just look better with heels, even small heels although have ordered those rose gold converse, couldn't help it Grin

I'd wear some foldable pumps to travel in (probably Butterfly Twists) and pop my heels on when I arrive.

Softpebbles · 10/10/2016 21:20

I'm the same as petal wear foldable pumps to travel and heels at the event. I like the afterheels range as still get to add a bit of sparkle and they fold up small to stow away. 😀

Petal02 · 10/10/2016 21:36

Pebbles - are afterheels cushioned enough so that you can walk comfortably outdoors? I tried rollasole a few years ago, and their soles were paper-thin.

WhooooAmI24601 · 10/10/2016 21:42

I wear heels constantly when I'm not at work (reception teacher). I wouldn't go on a night out without them.

Softpebbles · 10/10/2016 21:44

Hi petal Yes I walked miles when at a wedding - the first time I wore them. They were padded as the insole forms part of the packaging - it sort of slid in to the soft lining- they were comfy and my heels went in a bag provided!
At the time it seemed like miles but the alcohol perhaps made it seem further - I'd never been so pleased to get out of my strappy sandals I know that much!!! Best £7 I'd spent in a long time!

paulweller73Murielswedding · 10/10/2016 21:57

I've always loved heels and have attempted to wear them elegantly on a few occasions but always end up staggering about looking awkward and taking them off when the throbbing pain gets too much.

Never wear higher than 2 inches these days.

flopsypopsymopsy · 10/10/2016 22:05

Heels? What are they?
